SLAYER Is Far From Done, Paul Bostaph Rejoins The Band!

Half of SLAYER are making a clear statement that they are far from done! That's right, Tom Araya and Kerry King will continue jamming even though they recently lost two of their original members: their friend and guitarist Jeff Hanneman who passed away from liver failure, and drummer Dave Lombardo (whom they fired).

The band have announced that Paul Bostaph is back in SLAYER as their full-time drummer! Bostaph will be behind the drum kit beginning June 4 when SLAYER kicks off the first leg of its 2013 international tour in Warsaw, Poland. EXODUS' Gary Holt will continue to fill in for fallen guitarist Jeff Hanneman.

"Paul's a great drummer and a good friend, and we're very happy that he's decided to rejoin the band," said Tom Araya. "We're still pretty numb from the loss of Jeff, but we don't want to disappoint our European and South American fans, and we need to begin moving forward... Having Paul back in the band makes that a whole lot easier."

"I'm very excited to be rejoining SLAYER," added Bostaph. "We spent a very intense ten years of our lives together, had a lot of fun, made a lot of great music, so for me, this feels like coming home."

SLAYER's 2013 itinerary will have the band playing 35 dates that will include headline shows as well as a number of major summer festivals in Europe, Eastern Europe and South America between June and October.

Bostaph was SLAYER's drummer from 1992 until 2001 and recorded four albums with the band — the gold-certified "Divine Intervention" (1994), the 1996 punk covers album "Undisputed Attitude", "Diabolus In Musica" (1998), "God Hates Us All" (2001) that received a Grammy nomination for "Best Metal Performance", as well as the DVD "War At The Warfield" (2001), also certified gold. VISION OF DISORDER Seem To Have A NEW Drummer; Band Continues To Devastate The West Coast!

After getting flourished with accolades by the Heavy Music world after the release of their latest album 'The Cursed Remain Cursed' (available now via Candlelight Records), VISION OF DISORDER are currently rocking the West Coast of the United States Of America. The band is also confirmed for this year's Soundwave Festival in Australia and the Download Festival in the U.K.

Tonight, the band will be performing at the legendary Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles, California.

One big surprise this year, is that apparently VOD have a NEW drummer. If you have been to any of their recent shows, you might have noticed that the bands original drummer Brendon Cohen is not sitting on the drumming throne. Additionally, the band posted this hilarious picture of the band in Seattle, Washington. As you can see Cohen is not pictured here:

We reached out to the bands vocalist Tim Williams to see if he can confirm if the band has a NEW drummer and he answered "keep you posted". So in other words, he is not confirming or dismissing this piece of news. We will let you know as soon as more information becomes available.

BLACK SABBATH's Geezer Butler: Mad Updates Available, Including NEW Album Status & Touring Plans!

Recently, BLACK SABBATH revealed that the release of their NEW album has been postponed. Originally the record was set to be released this April, but now the band has announced that it won't be out until June. According to Geezer Butler, production for the band's first record with frontman Ozzy Osbourne since the release of 'Never Say Die!' in 1978, has been completed and the record is currently being mixed.

During an interview with Eddie Trunk during NAMM, which concluded this past Sunday, January 27. Geezer also announced that the band will be touring the United States this July and August, and will be touring South America for the very first time in October. Additionally, the band plans to close the year by touring Europe in November and December.
As far as that their NEW album title. He doesn't find '13' to be a "constructive" album title, and they will only keep that title if they can't find a better title. What should they entitle their album? Lets us know at the comments section below!
Here is the interview:

BLACK SABBATH Announce NEW Album Title & Studio Drummer!!!

Over the weekend, BLACK SABBATH revealed that the release of their NEW album has been postponed. Originally the record was set to be released this April, but now the band has announced that it won't be out until June. It seems like we will all have to wait a few months for the most anticipated album of the year.  It will also be the band's first record with frontman Ozzy Osbourne since the release of 'Never Say Die!' in 1978.

The band also announced that their NEW album will be entitled '13'. Why '13', is it because it is the year 2013? Or they just ran out of good album titles?

Additionally, the band has recruited drummer Brad Wilk from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to lay down the drum tracks on '13'. So this probably means that Wilk will also be touring with the band. Unless, Tommy Clufetos rejoins the rest of the band - Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler - once they hit the road later this year (see below).

So there you have it folks. The NEW SABBATH is entitled '13', it won't be out until June, and they have recruited Brad Wilk to lay down the drum tracks on '13'. Stay tuned for more SABBATH news!

Upcoming BLACK SABBATH tour dates:

- Apr 20: Auckland Vector Arena, New Zealand
-
Apr 22: Auckland Vector Arena, New Zealand

UNEARTH Unleash Their Music Video For "Watch It Burn"

Unearth's NEW video for "Watch It Burn" from 'Darkness in the Light' is now streaming EXCLUSIVELY on Metal Injection.net! The video, which was directed by Scott Hansen (A Day To Remember, I Wrestled A Bear Once, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster), is a dark and disturbing video to match the equally bleak lyrics of the song. The video can be seen below.

Vocalist Trevor Phipps elaborates on the video: "This video captures both the energy we put into every performance as well as imagery of the dark lyrical content of "Watch it Burn". We want to thank Scott Hansen and his crew for their hard work delivering such a sick video for our fans to see. Check it out!"

Unearth Announce Permanent Drummer!

Fans that have seen Unearth live on their recent trips to Alaska, Japan and on their US and Canadian tour with Chimaira, may have noticed a NEW face on stage. The guy behind the kit has been none other than up-and-coming drummer, Nick Pierce.

Nick Pierce is a self taught drummer who's been playing since age 10. He grew up playing for local bands in the Seattle/Tacoma area (Culling the Weak, Eterna Nocturna, Embalmed) as well as LA based band The Faceless. Nick first sat in behind the kit for Unearth in May of 2011 during their two show trip to Alaska. Unearth discovered Pierce on YouTube where he had been covering Unearth songs, among many other bands, on a series of videos on his YouTube channel.

Vocalist Trevor Phipps adds: "Nick is a beast of a drummer and a great guy to hang with. I look forward to jamming with him around the world for years to come." Guitarist Buz McGrath compliments Pierce and says he has a "Great attitude, energy and the knowledge that we can throw the most insane riffs at him and he can create and adequately perform next level beats for said riffs makes it a little easier to sleep at night."

Nick Pierce shares his excitement about joining Unearth: "I've been a fan of Unearth for many years and I'm excited to shred with a great group of guys and support our fans."

A live video of Pierce performing "Watch It Burn" live on tour has been made available on Metal Blade TV. Drum aficionados and fans should subscribe to Pierce's YouTube channel for more drum videos (link below).

Mutiny Within: Drops off from the Nevermore Tour

As we all know Mutiny Within is one of the rising forces of the new generation of American Heavy Metal. Recently, their drummer left the band and a few temporary drummers have been playing with them on the road. After some Visa issues with their current temporary drummer, the band decided to pull the plug on their tour with Nevermore. Here is the bands official statement:

"We’re sorry to say that despite our best efforts, our plans to hit the road with Nevermore this month have sadly fallen through. As many of you know, we have been looking forward to being a part of this tour and seeing all of our fans again. However, we feel that in order to deliver our best performance every night, our search for a full time drummer has to take priority. Instead of hitting the road with a temporary member again, we want to take the time to properly audition and rehearse."

"We did have another drummer lined up to accompany us on this tour, but due to a slow visa process, rehearsal time was cut to an unworkable amount. Mutiny Within is not a 5 piece band and we need to find our 6th member to bring you guys what you deserve. We’re so sorry to anybody who was looking forward to seeing us on this tour, but we cannot tour without a drummer. We know people will be upset and we apologize, but know that nobody will be more upset about this than we are. On a positive note, this gives us the time to work on brand new songs, which we’ve been looking forward to doing for some time."

"If anybody knows a suitable drummer or you are yourself, then please contact us at . We hope you all understand this and will continue to support us. Keep checking back for further updates, thanks everyone.” -Mutiny Within

Here is the official video for Mutiny Within's drummer search:
