Death Metal behemoths SIX FEET UNDER recently returned home from the victorious "18 Nights Of Blood Tour". The short but ravaging trek marked the first live outing featuring newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund as well as bassist Jeff Hughell [ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile] and systematically bludgeoned all in its path. Comments vocalist Chris Barnes: “Had a great time on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour with Dying Fetus and Revocation! Thanks to everyone who made the tour a success! Good times! Dubbed "…the best thing SFU have recorded since Maximum Violence…", by Decibel, "…an album on which this new level of musicianship adds value without tarnishing SIX FEET UNDER’s legacy of brutality", by Outburn, and "…an unearthly noise and glorious in its heaving absurdity", by Terrorizer, 'Undead' topped Billboard charts upon its first week of release and continues to sear the ears of fans and critics internationally.
With nationwide speculation that the zombie apocalypse is officially upon us, it would only seem appropriate for SIX FEET UNDER's "18 Nights Of Blood Tour" to be taking souls all over North America! The near three-week run of live rituals continues tonight in Portland, Oregon and will be coming to a close on the band's home turf of Tampa, Florida. Blood has been spilled, faces have been eaten and brains have definitely been devoured! No one is safe. For this epic tour, SIX FEET UNDER recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund who took the place of ex-Chimaira guitaris Rob Arnold (who retired from touring). Support is provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.
Here is a video interview we conducted with SIX FEET UNDER's vocalist and Death Metal pioneer Chris Barnes, filmed right before his band took center stage at their monstrous show at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York. The trek kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month and has systematically leveled nine cities. This is the band’s first live outing featuring newly recruited rhythm guitarist Ola Englund who takes the place of Rob Arnold as well as bassist Jeff Hughell [ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile]. Their latest installment of audio violence toppled Billboard charts upon its first week of release and continues crushing souls. 'Reign Supreme' features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know.
The band recently completed work on a video for the song "From Womb to Waste". The video features 12 camera angles from a recent live show at Maryland Deathfest held at Sonar in Baltimore, MD. The video was filmed and directed by Scott Hansen (Animals as Leaders, A Day to Remember).

Death Metal ministers SIX FEET UNDER today announce the addition of rhythm guitarist Ola Englund to their legendary ranks. Englund, who will make his first official appearance with the band on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour set to commence next month, takes the place of Rob Arnold.
Comments founding vocalist Chris Barnes of the new recruit: “Ola is an amazing guitarist and was chosen for his superlative technique and style of playing. We believe he will be the perfect complement to Steve Swanson, and the devastating rhythm section that is Talley/Hughell. DYING FETUS have posted the third video in a series of in-studio videos taken during the recording sessions of their NEW album 'Reign Supreme', which is scheduled for a June 19th release via Relapse Records. This video focuses on laying down riffs and the guitar tracking process for 'Reign Supreme'.
The band has released a full album teaser for 'Reign Supreme'. 'Reign Supreme' features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Today Metal Hammer Germany is hosting an exclusive premiere of "Frozen At the Moment of Death", the third official single, from Death Metal tyrants SIX FEET UNDER. The track comes off the band's soon-to-be released 'Undead' full-length which is scheduled for a European release on May 18th/21st, 2012 through Metal Blade Records.
Offering up 12 tracks of uncompromising, sonic brutality, the highly anticipated record was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.
Commented vocalist Chris Barnes: "Creating an album is a lot of work and a lot of focus, but we didn't really have too many hiccups in the recording. It went really smooth, and it was pretty much the most effortless album we've ever tracked. I had a great, great time working on this album; it was so much fun because everything seemed so new again."

Today premier horror portal Bloody Disgusting hosts the latest “18 Days” lyric video from Death Metal merchants, SIX FEET UNDER. The apocalyptic hymn comes off the band’s forthcoming NEW studio effort, 'Undead', set for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records.
Notorious for his elegiac themes of murder, death and the supernatural, on 'Undead' vocalist and lyrical mastermind Chris Barnes revisits topics that will be familiar to fans of the band, though as always he brings something NEW to the table, aware that their followers will not accept recycled ideas. Notes Barnes: “The hypocrisies of daily life, things that affect us that spawn aggression, loneliness, sadness, there’s a lot of emotions going on across the record, and I guess that the dark horror that humans cause is my niche,” However, while Barnes has a very clear vision for his craft, he is always excited by the interpretations of his songs by those who listen to them, feeding on the emotional investment they put in. “I love it when people tell me what they’ve got from the music and the lyrics. It’s like being an artist, you put the painting up on the wall – you know what it is, but sometimes it’s a little abstract and someone sees something else in it, and that’s the biggest compliment to me. That I’m able to get inside someone’s head and they actually give thought to something presented to them is inspiring to me too, and something I always want to be able to do with this band.”
