Canadian 'Heavy Mtl' Festival Announces Details For Battle Of The Bands Stage Contest 'En Route'!

A total of 20 bands have been selected to take over Katakombes‘ stage every second Wednesday of the month, starting January 11, 2012. Their goal? To win one of two prized spots on the 2012 lineup of Heavy MTL, which will take place from August 10th to the 12th!

Apart from playing on the same bill as some of the most highly regarded musicians in the world at Parc Jean-Drapeau, the contenders will perform for a prestigious panel of judges. A very special guest judge hailing from the international scene will be present at each event. Here are all the details.

January 11 – Melodic Deathcore Night:

- Guest judge: Jeff Waters of Annihilator

- Lineup: Chainsaw Armageddon, Forbidden Sin, Dark Century and Spelldown

February 8th – Heavy Power Thrash Night:

- Guest judge: TBA

- Lineup: Demise of the Crown, Heroik, Instanzia and Trainwreck Architect

Symphonic Metal Night (Date: TBA):

- Guest judge: TBA

- Lineup: Erimha, Hollow, Magnum Stallion and Valfreya

Death Metal/Grind Night (Date: TBA):

- Guest judge: TBA

- Lineup: Bookake, Crosstitution, First Fragment and Through Death

Progressive/Modern Death Thrash Night (Date: TBA):

- Guest judge: TBA

- Lineup: 3 Mile Scream, Aeon's Fall, Ashes of Eden and Sykode
