HYPOCRISY: NEW Song Available + Details Revealed For 'End Of Disclosure'!
Swedish Death Metal legends HYPOCRISY have released the cover artwork, track list and the first single from their upcoming masterpiece 'End Of Disclosure'! Listen to the title-track from the NEW album on the official HYPOCRISY Facebook site www.facebook.com/hypocrisy, or download the track from www.nuclearblast.de/en/label/music/band/about/70925.hypocrisy.html
“This time I wanted to go back to basics,” commented Tägtgren. “I felt like we lost it for the last couple of albums. This one is straight to the point and more Hypocrisy than ever! Fast, heavy, and epic. Enjoy!”
Being on a par with their 90’s brute yet multifaceted masterpieces, 'End Of Disclosure' leaves no room for breathers. It was produced by mastermind Peter Tägtgren in his Abyss Studios in Sweden, with artwork was done this time by Wes Benscoter (SLAYER, KREATOR, NILE, VADER, BLOODBATH). 'End Of Disclosure' will be released on March 22 (Europe) and April 2, 2013 (North America) via Nuclear Blast.
End Of Disclosure track listing:
01. End Of Disclosure
02. Tales Of Thy Spineless
03. The Eye
04. United We Fall
05. 44 Double Zero
06. Hell Is Where I Stay
07. Soldier Of Fortune
08. When Death Calls
09. The Return
As previously announced, HYPOCRISY were forced to cancel their previously announced Australian tour. Here is what the bands front man Peter Tägtgren had to say about this unfortunate situation:
"[The promoter] hasn't yet provided us with flights or working visa for this tour and we're forced to leave next Monday, January 14. We have asked time after time after time, and even put up a deadline to deliver that, but he has failed to do so for three months now. It's so close that it's all too late now. We can't even get into the country even if we had flight tickets, 'cause he didn't fix working visa for us yet. I can only hope you get your money back for the tickets you bought, and that [another] booker from Australia will invite us soon so we can finally go to your country."

KVELERTAK Celebrate Their NEW Record Deal With Roadrunner Records!
This just in via Roadrunner Records:
Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of Norwegian adrenaline-pushers of Heavy Rock N' Roll, Kvelertak. The band will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Meir' (which means “more” in Norwegian), produced by Converge’s Kurt Ballou, on March 26, 2013. Their first single, “Bruane Brenn,” has early critical acclaim from several tastemaker outlets including Stereogum, who raves, “It’s a total blast of riffs, adrenaline, football chants, and guitar solos, and in its four minutes, you get five decades of rock ‘n’ roll, compressed into one massive speedball hit.” The single will be available on iTunes beginning February 5, 2013 and will be available as an instant download when you pre-order the album. An exclusive CD/T-shirt bundle will also be available that day at the Roadrunner webstore.
Dave Rath, Senior Vice President of A&R at Roadrunner Records says of the signing, “Every decade or so, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal gets a well-deserved kick in the ass. Kvelertak is the band to do just that. These guys remind us that Rock music should truly affect us. Roadrunner is proud to deliver Kvelertak to a world waiting for a musical awakening. If this band doesn't get your heart racing, then you don't have one.”
From storming 2011’s SXSW festival to being personally invited by Mastodon to support them in Bergen, Norway, to Dave Grohl presenting them with their first gold discs at a sold-out show at Telenor Arena, Norway’s largest indoor venue, Kvelertak, or “chokehold” in English, are only getting started.
With the explosive first single “Bruane Brenn,” the slowed-down guitar crunching of “Evig Vandrar,” the brutally chaotic “Nekrokosmos” and much more, 'Meir' is an album that certainly lives up to its claim of giving the listener “more.” With tight rhythms, inventive guitar hooks and melodies that seep into your consciousness, this is an album that constantly surprises.
“It is both catchy and heavy; we're pushing our limits in both ends of that spectre. It's very varied and there are a lot of surprises in store. I mean, it's unlike anything I myself have heard before, so we even managed to surprise ourselves,” said lead singer Erlend Hjelvik.
Look for North American tour dates to be announced soon!
Kvelertak is:
- Erlend Hjelvik (vocals)
- Vidar Landa (guitars)
- Bjarte Lund Rolland (guitars)
- Maciek Ofstad (guitars)
- Marvin Nygaard (bass)
- Kjetil Gjermundrød (drums).
Meir Track Listing:
1. Åpenbaring
2. Spring Fra Livet
3. Trepan
4. Bruane Brenn
5. Evig Vandrar
6. Snilepisk
7. Månelyst
8. Nekrokosmos
9. Undertro
10. Tordenbrak
11. Kvelertak
We want to congratulate Kvelertak, and wish them tons of success!

Dee Snider Bashes Ted Nugent For Being A Republican Who Dodged The Vietnam War Draft
Dee Snider, like many out there, has had enough of Ted Nugent's anti government rants following President Barack Obama's gun control views. Allegedly, Ted Nugent dodged the Vietnam War draft by letting go of himself and showing up to the draft looking and smelling like a New York City bum.
In an interview with Noisecreep, Snider said:
“Ted’s always been a gun-toting conservative,” he said after being asked to opine on Nugent’s claim that he’s prepared to launch an armed revolt against the U.S. government over the reelection of President Barack Obama. “But what gets me is that he was actually a draft dodger! I mean, to the point where he didn’t bathe for a week, and vomited on himself to deliberately avoid the draft.”
It wasn’t all criticism, though: “I totally understand why he did that,” Snider added, “but all of these Republicans who love Ted don’t seem to know or remember that too well. It’s crazy that he’s become one of the voices of conservative America even though he was a draft dodger. If you don’t believe me, Google it.” We did Google it, here are the results.
Nugent lashed back at Snider on Twitter, saying he had fallen “for the big lie” and adding: “I challenge u to man up to the truth We xpected btr.”
The truth is, Snider’s tale of Nugent’s draft dodging comes from Nugent himself, who relayed the story to High Times in 1977, telling them he got a 30-day notice ahead of a physical exam and launched into action.
“Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body,” Nugent said. “No more brushing my teeth, no more washing my hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. I stopped shavin’ and I was 18, had a little scraggly beard, really looked like a hippie. I had long hair, and it started gettin’ kinky, matted up. Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I’d drink the syrup, I was this side of death. Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. Poop, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up.”

TOMAHAWK: Listen To Mike Patton's Latest Musical Creation 'Oddfellows'
Tomahawk's forthcoming album, 'Oddfellows' (Jan. 29, Ipecac), is now streaming in its entirety via Spin (link below). The album stream is accompanied by an interview with all four band members: Mike Patton, Duane Denison, John Stanier and Trevor Dunn. A few excerpts of the interview follow.
Your projects as of late have been a lot of soundtrack work, musique concrète, avant-jazz, and orchestral pop. What's most satisfying about the traditional rock band format?
Mike Patton, vocals:
There's still something attractive to me about it. I guess on a personal level it gives me a jones since I don't really write that kind of stuff anymore, not that I ever did. More traditional guitar, bass, drums; it's not something completely natural to me. It's in a way, exotic.
You guys all live in different parts of the globe. How does this band happen?
John Stanier, drums:
People ask "Where is Tomahawk from?" I don't know, the U.S., I guess?
Mike Patton:
There's two of us in New York so I guess we're a New York band. We've never really been a typical band that says, "Hey let's meet on Tuesday and practice for three hours." To be honest I've done that and I'm not really into that anymore.
Stanier:
It's always Duane sniffing around asking if we want to do another Tomahawk record. And everyone, of course, is like "Yes, absolutely." And then another nine months will pass and he asks again and then everyone says, "Yes, definitely." We've probably been talking about doing this record for the last two years.
Does he send CDs in the mail?
Stanier:
Maybe the last couple of times he's finally started to send MP3s. But even five months ago six months ago, he was sending actual CDs.
And the actual recording…
Stanier:
We meet up and rehearse for a little bit and bang it out. Then everybody goes about their merry way and we meet up again for tour. It's the absolute simplest, most professional ensemble I have ever been involved with, by far. Even for this record, I swear, we rehearsed for like a day and a half, if that.
Patton:
I flew in and then we were going to rehearse for a week and then record. The day after I flew in I got some really bad news about some family stuff and then I had to leave the next day. So I wasn't able to record in the same room with those guys, which is what we intended all along. It wasn't as intended, but I think it came out alright.
Duane Denison, guitar:
Things are a little slower here [in Nashville], you can take your time doing things, things cost less. Rehearsal spaces are cheaper. Studio time is less. Everything is less. And so when these guys come here, you feel like you can take your time and allow your ideas to gestate a little more. We can go get, oh, I don't know, catfish or barbeque or something like that. You have time to think about what does it really mean to you. You're kind of away from the media centers here, so you're not under the microscope all the time. You don't feel like you're on the clock and somebody's watching you all the time. There's a reason why this is becoming more and more popular here. There's a reason Jack White moved here and the Black Keys moved here, and other people are coming down here. Atlanta's kind of a hip-hop and R&B thing now. People are warming up to the South.
Listen to 'Oddfellows' HERE!

CHILDREN OF BODOM Enter Danger Johnny Studios In Helsinki, Finland
Finland's Heavy Metal machines CHILDREN OF BODOM have entered Danger Johnny Studios in Helsinki, Finland to track tracking their ninth studio album, the follow up to 2011's 'Relentless Reckless Forever'.
For the recording process the band has teamed up with recording engineer Mikko Karmila, who also produced the bands 'Hatebreeder', 'Follow The Reaper' and 'Hate Crew Deathroll'. Additionally, Swedish producer Peter Tägtgren (MARDUK, AMON AMARTH) is overseeing production of both vocals and keyboards on the record. The album will be mixed at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki for a summer release via Nuclear Blast Records.
"It's a nice change to the regular method where we lock ourselves up at a studio in the middle of the woods, usually also during the darkest time of the year," commented CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho who is currently finishing up lyrics for the songs. In early February, Tägtgren will travel to Finland to oversee the keyboard and vocal recordings for his longtime allies.
"Last night I finished my parts for the record," added CHILDREN OF BODOM bassist Henkka Seppälä. "We listened to all the songs and fixed what had to be fixed. So the bass tracks are locked in and so are the basic tracks for guitars, from both Roope and Alexi. And, of course, all drums were recorded first. Next in line are the guitar melodies and solos and then the keyboards and vocals. We are ahead of schedule and very happy to work here in Helsinki for the first time ever."
Stay tuned for more updates on the NEW CHILDREN OF BODOM record!

MARS VOLTA: Cedric Bixler Zavala Explains Why The Band Is Parting Ways
THE MARS VOLTA as we know it, is coming to an end. Last night (January 23), the bands vocalist Cedric Bixler Zavala made the announcement via his Twitter page (https://twitter.com/cedricbixler_). He has know posted an extensive statement regarding the demise of the band:
"Thank u 2 all VOLTA fans u deserved more especially after the way u rooted for us on this album. I tried my hardest to keep it going… But Bosnian Rainbows was what we all got instead. I can’t sit here and pretend any more. I no longer am a member of Mars Volta… I honestly thank all of you for buying our records and coming to our shows. You guys were a blast to play in front of. We could never had done it with out you. My dream was to get us to the point were Jon Theodore and Ikey Owens came back but sadly it’s over. Thank u a million times over for ever giving a fuck about our band.
"For the record I tried my hardest to get a full scale North American tour going for Noctourniquet but Omar did not want to. All I can do is move forward with my music and just be happy that mars volta ever happened at all. God Damn we had a blast. Thank u again. I just feel really guilty for not even really saying the truth because a hiatus is just an insult to the fans. To all our fans all over the world thank you for giving a fuck. You all ruled! I don’t think ill ever hear a fist full of dollars the same. My record will see the light of day soon and I’m excited because it sounds nothing like my previous endeavors. And no I’m not joking about any of this, I owe it 2 u guys to all fans to be serious about this.
"Thank u to all past members who helped Volta along as well. we blasted through like a comet and left our mark! If u ever see me in person and want to know why I’ll tell u my story. Please just be happy that it happened at all remember all the opposition we were met with for just starting a new band back in 2001.
"And for the record I’m still in love with [At the Drive-In]. Proof was in MY performance. I would never get on stage if my heart was else where. I have cancelled shows before for knowing full well that my heart was not in it at that moment. Why? Because its an insult to the audience.
2 be clear I’m not angry I just wanted to be honest with the people who have allowed me to make a living playing music. What am I suppose to do be some progressive house wife that’s cool with watching their partner go fuck other bands? We owe it 2 fans to tour."

THE FACELESS' Drummer Lyle Cooper Puts His Sticks Down & Leaves The Band - Official Statement Available!
This just in: THE FACELESS drummer Lyle Cooper has left the band. Here is his official statement:
"I figured I'd clear up the about my status with The Faceless.
"After almost five years with the band I've decided to part ways. Over the last couple of years it seemed that the interests, goals and musical approach of the band was not that of my own. Also, managerial issues became too frequent with no resolution.
"These issues, I felt, made it hard for me as an individual to produce as a creative and enthusiastic member.
"I'm sure that proceeding my departure, the band will have no trouble finding someone with the right mindset and talents to step in and keep the band moving forward.
"Thank you to the fans and everyone who supported The Faceless throughout the years. I wish the band and its members nothing but continued success and make sure you catch them on their upcoming tours. I will be pursuing my other musical projects so out for NEW Absvrdist and Abhorrent this year"
- Lyle Cooper
