Right now, the veggie-gorging progressive grind masters CATTLE DECAPITATION are streaming their NEW album 'Monolith Of Inhumanity'. Set for a North American release on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 via Metal Blade Records, the 11-track long player is an achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible-to-pigeonhole records of 2012.
Produced by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio, Monolith Of Inhumanity sees the band investigating inventive NEW techniques in songwriting without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage. Conceptually, the record revolves around a potent distaste for contemporary civilization and the damage wrought in the name of progress. In addition, 'Monolith Of Inhumanity' features a host of guests including Mike Majewski of Devourment (guest vocals on "Projectile Ovulation"), Lenard Leal of Cephalic Carnage (backing vocals by on "A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat"), The Cephalic Carnage Community Men's Choir, consisting of all current Cephalic members and alumni Jawsh Mullen and Zac Joe (gang choir vocals on "The Carbon Stampede"), and ambient and noise interludes by Los Angeles' most extreme decimator of sound, John Wiese.

The Heavy Music Community Pays Tribute To Adam (MCA) Yauch From The BEASTIE BOYS!
As previously reported, Adam Nathaniel Yauch (A.K.A. MCA) passed away yesterday morning in New York City after fighting with cancer for almost three years. The co-founder of crossover heavyweights the BEASTIE BOYS leaves behind his wife Dechen Wangdu, and his daughter Tenzin Losel Yauch. Yauch was 47 years old. Our condolences go out to his MCA's family, friends, the BEASTIE BOYS camp, and all of his fans.
Here is what some of the members of the Heavy Music community had to say about this very sad news:
SICK OF IT ALL: "Our hearts go out to MCA's family and friends in their time of loss. We had the pleasure of doing a small tour with the BEASTIE BOYS under their hardcore name QUAZAR. They were the most down-to-earth and fun guys. Thanks for all the great times and music and all your humanitarian work you've done. Rest in peace, brother. A sad day indeed."
Perry Farrell (JANE'S ADDICTION): "Adam Yauch has passed. As sobering news as you'll ever recieve. This part of life (death) is resolute — causes one to consider their own life, and the way they're living it. Today is a grey day. It feels as if their is no escape... Adam was a guy who brought happiness and energy to so many. That is why the news of his passing is so stifling. Bon voyage, Adam."
Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES): "Sad day. MCA was fucking awesome. RIP man. We'll miss you very much."
ANTHRAX: "RIP MCA. Cancer, you're an asshole."
STYX: "Another great one has passed. RIP MCA. Truly one of the best at what he did."
Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD): "BEASTIE BOYS broke a lot of rules and broke a lot of ground. Bummed I never saw 'em. MCA has gone on to his final egg raid on mojo. Peace bro!"
Dave Mustaine (MEGADETH): "Rest In Peace Adam 'MCA' Yauch of the BEASTIE BOYS. My condolences to his family and friends."
Freddy Cricien (MADBALL): "RIP to a hip hop legend and my favorite beastie boy.... MCA"
LIVING COLOUR: "Cause You Can't, You Won't And You Don't Stop, MCA Come And Rock The Sure Shot - RIP Adam Yauch!"
David Draiman (DISTURBED): "Listened to the BEASTIE BOYS since I was a kid. RIP Adam (MCA) Yauch. You will be missed."
Brian Fair (SHADOWS FALL): "RIP MCA of the BEASTIE BOYS. My favorite show ever was seeing them at a small club in Boston on 'Check Your Head' tour. Thanks for the music."
Jeff Scott Soto (TALISMAN, JOURNEY, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN): "RIP MCA...you showed us how to 'fight for the right', long live the Beasties!

STONE SOUR Parts Ways With Bassist Shawn Economaki - Twit From Corey Taylor Available!
Today, it was announced that STONE SOUR, the band featuring SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor (vocals) and Jim Root (guitar), has parted ways with bassist Shawn Economaki. Here is Corey Taylor's Tweet regarding this matter:
"As some of you might have heard but I'll confirm it: Shawn Economaki is no longer with STONE SOUR. We wish him luck in the future."
As previously reported, Economaki left STONE SOUR in April 2011 during the "Avalanche Tour" to handle some "personal issues." He was temporarily replaced by Jason Christopher, who has since joined Sebastian Bach's touring band. While his replacement hasn't been announced yet, James Root posted the picture below on his Instagram account. Is this the bands NEW bassist?
The album is expected in the Fall of 2012, two years after the band's most recent longplayer 'Audio Secrecy', which debuted at position No. 6 on the Billboard chart and No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Rock Album chart. It scored the highest international debuts of the band’s career, including Top 5 charts in Germany, Japan and Austria, and Top 10 in the U.K. and Australia. Taylor tweeted the fall release plan, adding that the album has a title but that he "won't give it away yet."

OFFICIAL Statement From The BEASTIE BOYS Camp Regarding The Passing Of Adam (MCA) Yauch!
Adam Yauch • 1964-2012
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Yauch taught himself to play bass in high school, forming a band for his 17th birthday party that would later become known the world over as Beastie Boys.
With fellow members Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Adrock" Horovitz, Beastie Boys would go on to sell over 40 million records, release four #1 albums–including the first hip hop album ever to top the Billboard 200, the band's 1986 debut full length, Licensed To Ill–win three Grammys, and the MTV Video Vanguard Lifetime Achievement award. Last month Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with Diamond and Horovitz reading an acceptance speech on behalf of Yauch, who was unable to attend.
In addition to his hand in creating such historic Beastie Boys albums as 'Paul's Boutique', 'Check Your Head', 'Ill Communication', 'Hello Nasty' and more, Yauch was a founder of the Milarepa Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and activism regarding the injustices perpetrated on native Tibetans by Chinese occupational government and military forces. In 1996, Milarepa produced the first Tibetan Freedom Concert in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, which was attended by 100,000 people, making it the biggest benefit concert on U.S. soil since 1985's Live Aid. The Tibetan Freedom Concert series would continue to stage some of the most significant benefit shows in the world for nearly a decade following in New York City, Washington DC, Tokyo, Sydney, Amsterdam, Taipei and other cities.
In the wake of September 11, 2001, Milarepa organized New Yorkers Against Violence, a benefit headlined by Beastie Boys at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, with net proceeds disbursed to the New York Women's Foundation Disaster Relief Fund and the New York Association for New Americans (NYANA) September 11th Fund for New Americans–each chosen for their efforts on behalf of 9/11 victims least likely to receive help from other sources.
Under the alias of Nathanial Hörnblowér, Yauch directed iconic Beastie Boys videos including "So Whatcha Want," "Intergalactic," "Body Movin" and "Ch-Check It Out." Under his own name, Yauch directed last year's Fight For Your Right Revisited, an extended video for "Make Some Noise" from Beastie Boys' Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, starring Elijah Wood, Danny McBride and Seth Rogen as the 1986 Beastie Boys, making their way through a half hour of cameo-studded misadventures before squaring off against Jack Black, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as Beastie Boys of the future.
Yauch's passion and talent for filmmaking led to his founding of Oscilloscope Laboratories, which in 2008 released his directorial film debut, the basketball documentary Gunnin' For That #1 Spot and has since become a major force in independent video distribution, amassing a catalogue of such acclaimed titles as Kelly Reichardt's Wendy and Lucy, Oren Moverman's The Messenger, Banksy's Exit Through The Gift Shop, Lance Bangs and Spike Jonze's Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait Of Maurice Sendak, and many more.
Yauch is survived by his wife Dechen and his daughter Tenzin Losel, as well as his parents Frances and Noel Yauch.
DYING FETUS Release Second In Studio Video Of The Vocal & Bass Tracking Process For 'Reign Supreme'!
DYING FETUS have posted the second video in a series of in-studio videos taken during the recording sessions of their NEW album 'Reign Supreme', which is scheduled for a June 19th release via Relapse Records. The second installment covers laying down some of the vocal tracks as well as bass parts.
The band has released a full album teaser for 'Reign Supreme'. 'Reign Supreme' features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of DYING FETUS as we have come to know. View the album teaser HERE.
Check out an exclusive lyric video for the first new song from Reign Supreme entitled "Subjected to a Beating" HERE.
Reign Supreme can be pre-ordered HERE.
DYING FETUS will be on tour all summer long including an appearance at Maryland Death Fest as well as the "18 Nights of Blood Tour" in North America with label mates REVOCATION and Six Feet Under. They will also be on a headlining tour of Europe which includes appearances at the "Copenhell Festival" in Copenhagen, Denmark, "Hell Fest" in Clisson, France, the "With Full Force" festival in Roitzschjora, Germany, "Sevilla Rock Festival" in Sevilla, Spain and the "Getaway Rock Fest" in Gävle, Sweden.
The first video in the series which focuses on the drum tracking process can be viewed HERE.

BEASTIE BOYS' Adam Yauch (MCA) Loses Cancer Battle - Rock In Peace!
This just in: the death of Adam Nathaniel Yauch (A.K.A. MCA) has been confirmed by music mogul Russel Simmons.
In 2009 Yauch announced that he was being treated for a cancerous tumor in his salivary gland. In 2011, Yauch posted an update on the Beastie Boys' website telling friends and fans he was not cancer-free as reportedly, but was "staying optimistic and hoping to be cancer free in the near future."
The BEASTIE BOYS were recently inducted into the Rock N' Roll Half Of Fame, but Yauch was absent.

GWAR Is Planning A Summer Of Naughty Fun - Details Available!
Fresh off the latest six-week orgy of blood, booze, and missing children that was the second half of GWAR's "Return of the World Maggot/Farewell, Flattus Maximus" North American tour, the members of rock and roll's hardest working band have returned to the vastness of their Antarctica fortress to begin work on "a shitload of projects, all destined to rule...", said lead-singer Oderus Urungus. It all adds up to a summer of debauched excess for GWAR fans.
The band capped off the latest tour in grand fashion as they stuck to the four-piece line-up that was thrust upon our plucky barbarian overlords after the tragic exodus of guitarist FLATTUS MAXIMUS' from this mudball planet to the eternity of the cosmos, which occurred in November of last year as the band was just getting rolling on their huge two-part tour of North America. The band elected to stick it out not just for the remainder of the fall tour, but retain the line-up with Balsac, the Jaws of Death, as sole guitar player. Every night the band would end the set with a special tribute to Cory Smoot, a musician whose talent was so immense that no one could ever fill his giant rubber feet, thus compelling GWAR to officially retire the character of Flattus Maximus. Faced with the daunting task of finding a new Scumdog who can match the standard of excellence the band demands, GWAR has activated certain contingency plans, and the process that will hopefully lead to a new and hellish alignment with some kind of hideous creature, one capable of slaying thousands with JUST ONE NOTE. Needless to say, auditions are not "open". GWAR is also writing material for their new album, which could be out as early as several thousand years from now. Look for updates at Oderus' twitter feed, @therealoderus...NOW!
Despite being in an intense studio phase, GWAR will appear for some very special events of supreme carnage this spring and summer. First up, GWAR will be playing at the "New York Zombie Prom", a special event put on by Abracadabra NYC , Zombies Can't Love and Zombies Worldwide for the undead of New York City, to be held at Irving Plaza on Saturday June 9th. Then GWAR travels to Montreal on June 16th to take part in the D-Tox Rock Fest, along with other heavyweights As I Lay Dying, Bad Religion and Voivod to name a few. But undoubtedly the social event for bohabs world-wide will be the third annual GWAR-B-Q, to be held in Richmond, Va., Aug. 18th, 2012.
"We are not announcing any details regarding the GWAR-B-Q until we are 110% sure they are firmly grounded in reality", said Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie, "but the GWAR-B-Q is definitely ON, it's gonna be on Saturday, August 18th, and GWAR will headline. It's going to be everything we hoped it would be last year and much, MUCH more. We have amazing support acts and an incredible venue that we will be announcing very soon...it's going to be the greatest GWAR-B-Q ever!"
So get ready for more music, murder, and MAYHEM from our Lords and Masters, the mighty GWAR!!!!
GWAR LIVE:
- 6/9: New York, NY @ Irving Plaza (Zombie Prom)
- 6/15: Providence, RI @ Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel
- 6/16: Montebello, QC @ Montebello Marina (D-TOX Rockfest)

Candlelight Records has launched a FREE label sampler available exclusively from Amazon.com. The 8-song sampler includes previously unreleased material from FALLOCH, THE ROTTED, WODENSTHRONE, SEAR BLISS, WOE, WINTERFYLLETH, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER and includes the first single from IHSAHN’s NEW album Eremita.
“The Paranoid” is taken from IHSAHN’s anticipated fourth solo album. Set for release June 19, Eremita was mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth) and features performances from drummer Tobias Ornes Andersen (Leprous), saxophonist Jorgen Munkeby (Shining-Norway), guitarist Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore), and vocalists Devin Townsend, Einar Solberg (Leprous), and Heidi S. Tveitan (StarofAsh).
The inclusion of an early production mix of RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER’s “Fucking Wild” follows the recent announcement of the band’s forthcoming NEW album, 'Ghostmaker'. The Philadelphia-based quartet recently completed a string of regional performances and are now gearing up for dates to support the NEW album once it hits stores nationwide on June 19. Guitarist Ryan Moll says, "the title of this track says it all. It’s a rather suiting description of its relentlessness. The lyrics were written by Shawn (Riley) and the title was inspired by some old live Venom recordings."
FALLOCH’s “The Ghosts That Haunts This Path” is a NEW song for American audiences. Previously available as a b-side to a European-only single, the song showcases the impressive stylings of the Scottish post-Black Metal duo. MSN Metal called the band’s debut Where Distant Spirits Remain, “a drop-dead gorgeous, haunting piece of work.” Kerrang called it, “intoxicating, haunting, beautiful.” Brooklyn Vegan adds, “it's clear that FALLOCH aims to walk along the righteous path of adventurous Black Metal bands like Alcest. 'Where Distant Spirits Remain' is a great first step in that direction.”
Planning to hit the studio in early June to lay down tracks for their third album, WOE’s reworked “Quietly, Undramatically” opens a NEW door on the title track from the band’s popular 2010 release of the same name. Vocalist/guitarist Chris Grigg notes, "the remixed version of 'Quietly, Undramatically' is a more accurate representation of what was hoped to achieve with the material and offers a different perspective into the album." Decibel Magazine said, “Woe strive for sophistication without falling into the usual pitfalls of pretentiousness, cartoonish-ness or undue gloss. Essential aggression is maintained, while the atmospheric and emotional depth envelopes are pushed with a bold fearlessness.”

MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine & Former ANTHRAX Guitarist Dan Spitz, Release Music Video About Autism
What happens when you collide some of the biggest Heavy Metal musicians to shout the truth to the world? You start a NEW band called RED LAMB. Dan Spitz, formerly of Anthrax, and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, who together have sold records approaching 50 million copies, are telling the story of what it's like for a family to live with identical/mirror image twins with Autism. Dan Spitz and his wife, Candi, have identical twins with Autism and are vocal advocates about the cause and taking the power of music to now help educate awareness on a global level as never before.
The music video for the song "Puzzle Box" is a song with lyrics co-written by Mustaine and Spitz and with all music by Spitz is gaining a foothold in the music community rather swiftly and taking a stance in the usual Heavy Metal fashion of pulling no punches. In addition to these two legendary musicians of The Big 4, they have recruited Grammy winner Chris Vrenna of Marilyn Manson as well as famed Grammy nominated producer Johnny K to mix the song.
Dan Spitz was one of the co-founders of the legendary band Anthrax, a band now included in the Big 4 (Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer), who single-handedly changed the face of Heavy Metal music by breaking down many barriers once never allowed. Anthrax first mixed hip-hop and Heavy Metal with the legendary collaboration on their track, "Bring the Noise", as well as the first Heavy Metal/Hip Hop world tour featuring Public Enemy and Anthrax. Now Spitz has returned to music after his hiatus in Switzerland, to become a master watchmaker of the world's most complicated mechanical wristwatches, to once again pave NEW ground for a great cause.
Candi Spitz devotes all of her free to time to the largest Autism non-profit, Autism Speaks www.autismspeaks.org. She can be seen on every billboard, print ad, newscast and radio ad. Candi and RED LAMB have recruited Austism Speaks co-founders Bob and Suzanne Wright to be in the video for ‘Puzzle Box’. Bob Wright was the CEO and Chairman for NBC Universal for more than 20 years, who also has a grandson with Autism. The extensive filming of ‘Puzzle Box’ was done over a three month period and includes footage from the “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” in Palm Beach, Florida where thousands were filmed for the video. Other notable people in the video include WPTV Channel 5 anchor Mike Williams and television and film actors who open the video.
Dan Spitz says, “It's time for someone in music to wake the world up to Autism. We have Holly Robinson Peete in film, we have vocal people in NASCAR and of course Dan Marino and others in sports. Now it's time for someone who lives it to speak the truth to the people in true Metal fashion. I come from a time when the lyrics of a song represented truth that can certainly change the world. Now it's time to let people know we are in epidemic form with Autism, as 1 in every 88th child born (1 in every 54th boy) will be diagnosed in the spectrum. I feel that if we don’t do something now about this the Autism epidemic, more will people will suffer the consequences. Autism is on your block now.”
The band RED LAMB is a self-funded band with no outside support, working on the principle of releasing music on their own via iTunes/Amazon through Tunecore distribution.

FAITH NO MORE's Mike Patton & The ICTUS Ensemble Pay Tribute To Luciano Berio With Laborintus II - Details Available!
FAITH NO MORE's Mike Patton, joined by the Brussels-based Ictus Ensemble, pay tribute to pioneering composer Luciano Berio with the July 3 release of 'Laborintus II' via Ipecac Recordings.
Berio, a groundbreaking Italian composer whose lengthy list of compositions revel in experimentation and intuitively fuse classical, jazz and electronic music, created Laborintus II in 1965 to mark the 700th anniversary of Dante's birth. The composition is based on the "Laborintus" poem by Edoardo Sanguineti. Laborintus II highlights the timelessness of love and mourning and is told in three voices. In 1972, Berio performed Laborintus II at the Holland Festival, the Dutch premiere of the piece, with a set that included a giant blow-up doll and old car tires.
In 2010, Mike Patton joined the Ictus Ensemble and Nederlands Kemerkoor at the Holland Festival for a performance of Laborintus II, which is featured on this release. Lieven Bertels, Holland Festival's former Artistic Director, said of the recital, "Loyal to the historical context of a repertoire piece from the previous century, we were also aware that this project could attract a much younger audience, for whom Laborintus II would be a first-time discovery of Berio's work. In reintroducing this piece, we added new touches -- foremost being the refreshing combination of narrator Mike Patton, regarded as one of the world's most versatile and astounding vocalists, with the fine vocal filigree of the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the musical volcano that is the Ictus Ensemble."
Patton, who has continually paid tribute to Italian composers, most recently with his 2011 Mondo Cane album, discussed the differences and similarities between Berio, Morricone and Nono in an interview with Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad, " I can listen to Berio and Nono as easily as I can to Morricone but like all modern music of Italy, it is unfortunately marginalized. Maybe because of the language barrier, maybe because it's not easily understood. Berio, who was teaching in California when he wrote this piece, was listening to jazz, pop and folk music and incorporated all of it in his works without prejudice."
