As previously announced, vocalist Howard Jones decided to resign from his duties as the singer of Masschussets Metallers Killswitch Engage. This is what he had to say about this:
"Recently we've all been in writing mode, but somehow I couldn't get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight, I now realize that my heart wasn't in it. I have had an amazing decade with Killswitch Engage. I love Justin, Mike D, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep."
At current time, KSE is currently holding auditions in order to find a proper replacement for Jones. According to a source close to the band, KSE's original vocalist Jesse Leach has already auditioned for the band and is still on the run to rejoin the band that he help establish in 1999. Some of the requirements that KSE has are:
- The vocalist must be able to sing and scream in order to keep KSE's signature sound intact.
- KSE is looking for someone who is already part of the music industry, since they need someone who is not going to crack while on tour.
- Whomever ends up becoming KSE's vocalist needs to be able to fully commit to the band.
With that said, we truly believe that Jesse Leach is the prime candidate for this gig. Not only does he have the chops, but he is also sounding better than ever. Plus, he knows exactly how things are ran in the KSE camp.
As we all know, in 2010 Leach replaced Jones for a show in New York City, after Jones left the band in the middle of their tour with All That Remains, The Devil Wears Prada, and Dark Tranquility. Leach joined his homeboys and performed with them: 'My Last Serenade,' 'Numbered Days,' 'Self Revolution,' 'Vide Infra' and 'Temple From The Within.' Before the show was over, Leach returned during the night's encore with the band's original lineup, with Adam Dutkiewicz on drums, Joel Stroetzel on guitar, and Mike D'Antonio on bass for three cuts, 'Prelude,' 'Life To Lifeless,' and 'Fixation On The Darkness.' Needless to say the fans went wild and immediately demanded for Leach to return to Killswitch Engage!
Stay tuned to see if Jesse Leach rejoins Killswitch Engage!
