SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor & Shawn Crahan Open Their Hearts To The World!

The 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is currently demolishing ear drums all across the continental United States. So far, America's largest Heavy Music festival has broken all expectations. As a matter of fact, the opening concert in San Bernardino had a record-breaking attendance of 26,105 — 4,000 more than the previous attendance record set by the tour.

This years fest is headlined by SLIPKNOT, who have proven that even with two men down (Paul Gray passed away in 2010, and James Root had his appendix burst prior to the fest) they are always on point with their musical performances. The circus of music has a lot of mayhem lined up in their agenda for the next year and it wont be pretty.

Here is a Q&A with Shawn Crahan (Clown) of Slipknot, where he really opens up and talks about love (it’s impossible to love but easy to hate!), death (the memory of Paul Gray) + teddy bears (how he is one, that is).

SLIPKNOT Perform Without Jim Root At Record Breaking Mayhem Fest Show In California - Video Available!

 
Yesterday (Saturday, June 30), SLIPKNOT were forced to kick off their headlining musical circus at this year's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival without guitarist Jim Root, who is out of action while recovering from a burst appendix. Video of the bands performance is available below.

Yesterday's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival concert in San Bernardino had a record-breaking attendance of 26,105 — 4,000 more than the previous attendance record set by the tour.

"It always is [tough] when you've got more than one or two records, and it's hard for us to do live too", commented SLIPKNOT percussionist Chris Fehn during an interview with Loudwire.com. "We're not sure what we want to do NEW and what we can play live, what we can't play live cause a lot of it has to do with Jim not being here and stuff like that, which is a big hole in the SLIPKNOT camp right now, but it's always a good problem to have [deciding which songs to feature]. Sometimes what we want, what the fans want, it's a whole different situation. It is difficult, but there'll be more to come."

SLIPKNOT Guitarist Forced To Miss Mayhem Shows Due To A Medical Emergency!

Here is some pretty shitty news for all the SLIPKNOT fans, A.K.A. the "maggots".

"We're sorry to announce that our brother Jim Root [guitar] will not be performing with us at [Rockstar Energy Drink] Mayhem [Festival] today in San Bernardino due to serious health issues. Jim has been seriously sick for the past two weeks and went to the hospital last week where he was advised that his appendix burst a couple weeks before and that it could have been life-threatening. Jim is at home recovering and is awaiting surgery to have pieces of his appendix removed and hopes to join the tour as soon as he is able. SLIPKNOT will continue to headline the Mayhem festival and all other shows. We refuse to let our fans down and will not miss a single date. We will miss Jim greatly and our thoughts are with him. Jim sends his love to each and every one of our fans."
