The private show welcomed 250 VIP guests and it ended up being as successful as the bands 2007/2008 reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth. This warm up gig served as the bands promotional campaign kick off for the NEW Van Halen album entitled 'A Different Kind Of Truth'. Van Halen To Perform In New York City On Thursday, January 5th!

Last week, Van Halen announced that in they will be hitting the road this year, in celebration of their NEW record with Interscope Records (set to be released on February 7th). If you watched footage of these weekends New Years celebration in Times Square, you might have noticed the massive Van Halen banner!

According to RollingStone.com, the band will perform at the Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village, New York City this Thursday, January 5th. It is rumored that the band will play a 45-minute set at the 250-seat venue, which was once owned and operated by David Lee Roth's uncle Manny Roth, providing a stage to then-up-and-coming acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Bill Cosby, Bob Dylan, Richard Pryor and many others.

Van Halen has released a video trailer that was shot on November 14 at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California, you can watch the video below. The first set of tickets for the Van Halen tour are scheduled to go on sale on January 10. The upcoming Van Halen album is scheduled to be released in 2012 and is the first with vocalist David Lee Roth since '1984' (released on the last day of 1983). Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti recently said in an interview that he had gotten an opportunity to hear NEW Van Halen music through his friendship with bassist Wolfgang Van Halen (guitarist Eddie Van Halen's son), saying it sounded like "vintage Van Halen."

"The whole Van Halen record has been recorded and we're all excited. I'm really stoked about it, as it is the original band, Eddie and Alex with Wolf playing bass, and David Lee Roth singing, it's the killing side of VAN HALEN at the top of their game again with Diamond Dave, and the band on fire." - Producer Ross Hogarth

David Lee Roth reunited with Van Halen in 2007 for a successful year-long reunion tour — minus original bassist Michael Anthony, who now plays with ex-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar in Chickenfoot. Stay tuned for more details!
