Once again, Randy Blythe from LAMB OF GOD touched the hearts of all his Instagram followers. This time he posted a picture and a blurb about Emily Conatzer, a child who passed away in the Plaza Towers
Elementary School in Oklahoma during the tornado. RIP Emily, this is devastating!
Here is what Randy had to say about this terrible tragedy:
"This
is Emily Conatzer, a little girl who died in the Plaza Towers
Elementary School in Oklahoma during the tornado. She is standing with
her Mom (who survived). As you can see, her Mom has on a lamb of god
shirt- while we feel terrible for everyone affected by this disaster,
have been in the midwest the last few days & have been following the
news (& weather) closely, & I mentioned the tornado victims the
other evening on stage, this picture makes it just so much more
personal for me- it really breaks my heart. A little member of our
extended family is dead. According to the news, Emily died with her best
friend, Antonia Lee Candelaria. It appeared that they were holding on
to each other when they died, for they were inseparable in death, just
as they were in life. The two girls were just nine years old. Words
can't heal the loss of a child (I know this from personal experience),
but if anyone knows Emily or Antonia's family, please let them know
that we in lamb of god are thinking of them and praying for them. Those
two little girls were part of several that died. Life is brutal at
times- it just is. So if you know someone who is suffering, reach out
your hand however you can, & comfort them in their time of sorrow.
One day you may need that hand too. RIP Emily & Antonia."
Make sure you catch Randy and his band LAMB OF GOD on tour, HERE are their current tour dates!
If you are attending ROCKLAHOMA, here is a word from the organizers who have setup many ways for all who attend to help the victims out. The event will take place on May 24, 25 and 26 in Pryor, OK and will feature Guns N' Roses, Alice In Chains, Korn, Bush, Cheap Trick, and more.
"Rocklahoma
is deeply committed to providing assistance to our neighbors in the
Oklahoma City area after the tragic storms earlier this week. The
festival producers will be donating a portion of every ticket sold this
weekend to local relief efforts as well as fundraising on-site including
the auction of autographed memorabilia, artist meet & greets and
more. There will also be cash donation stations
located throughout the venue at the gates, information booth and in the
VIP area. All funds raised at Rocklahoma 2013 will be donated to the
American Red Cross to provide assistance in the Region. We ask those
attending Rocklahoma to NOT bring clothes, food, toiletries, etc. to the
festival for donation. Per the Red Cross, we are focusing our efforts
on raising money. Thank you in advance for helping our Oklahoma family."

Members Of LAMB OF GOD Ask For Their Fans To Use Caution At Concerts
Recently, Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton and Chris Adler sat down with Fuse TV and discussed how their viewpoints on crowd control have changed since vocalist Randy Blythe was arrested in the Czech Republic on manslaughter charges last year (details HERE). A couple of excerpts follow.
Guitarist Mark Morton explained that LOG have been much more safety aware since Blythe was arrested, charged and later cleared of causing bodily harm of the fourth degree, resulting in the death of a fan (Daniel Nosek): “You know, based on that experience, I think it just underscored, probably for all of us, the need for everyone to be safe at shows and to look out for each other. It’s scary that there are situations people can get hurt in.”
However, the band would not be taming down their live show: “Randy mentions it on stage a little more often and just tries to keep everyone aware of it. We’re all there to have fun, it’s not about getting hurt, that’s for sure,” Morton said.
Adler agreed: “We can’t just stop people from stage-diving for the rest of eternity, that’s not what we’re trying to do, but I think [that] when you come to the show, you need to know that you need to be responsible for your actions and you need to think about what you’re doing.”
Blythe himself recently posted a lengthy emotional letter, asking everyone to be safe and be careful at the band’s shows: “Absolutely no one is welcome on the stage if we have not invited you up there, and unless you are a small child or in a wheel chair, that is not likely to happen,” he wrote. “Please respect this.”

Members of LAMB OF GOD & C.O.C. Join Musical Forces To Form Supergroup!
Oh yeah! Randy Blythe, singer of LAMB OF GOD, has announced that he is working on a NEW project called TEENAGE TIME KILLER with Mike Dean and Reed Mullin from CORROSION OF CONFORMITY! Here is the picture and text that Randy posted on his Instagram account:
"This is me with Mike Dean & Reed Mullin of the legendary NC band, Corrosion of Conformity. Their record, “Animosity”, is a HUGE influence on me, in fact the vocals on that record by these two men were the first screaming type music I tried to sing along to, EVER. Reed had a track he wanted me to write lyrics for & sing on, so I did (title is “Hung Out To Dry”)- it’s old-school COC style thrash punk & I killed it on the mic last night- SO FAST! It was a huge honor for me to work on this- it will eventually come out as a project called TEENAGE TIME KILLER (named after a Rudimentary Peni song) w/a bunch of cool vocalists. The instruments were recorded at Dave Grohl’s studio (watch his documentary, Sound City- track was recorded on THAT board)- Grohl will add a couple of guitar tracks to the tune too. So good!"
