KVELERTAK's drummer forced to go home, Max Weinberg's son to fill in!

Norwegian rockers KVELERTAK have released the following statement regarding the departure of their drummer Kjetil Gjermundrød from their current North American tour due to a hand injury:

"Our drummer Kjetil [Gjermundrød] has been having trouble with his arm and was, unfortunately, unable to continue our ongoing North America tour. He left home for Norway yesterday to get treatment so that he doesn't permanently damage his hand, which would suck so much balls. But we were lucky to get an awesome replacement in Jay Weinberg (AGAINST ME, MADBALL, E STREET BAND) who learned all the songs and played an amazing set yesterday in Seattle. Kjetil is a hard drummer to replace, but Jay might just be the best replacement imaginable. Thanks, Jay!! So, the tour will continue as planned, and tonight is our first show ever in Canada! Vancouver, Rickshaw Theatre to be specific. Come down and rage!!"

The video was directed by Stian Andersen, who came along for a couple of shows on the bands recent release tour of Europe. The shows that are featured here are from London, Cologne, Paris and the epic final show in Oslo.

Recently, Roadrunner Records is announced the signing of Norwegian adrenaline-pushers of Heavy Rock N' Roll, Kvelertak. The band will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Meir' (which means “more” in Norwegian), produced by Converge’s Kurt Ballou, on March 26, 2013. Their first single, “Bruane Brenn,” is available on iTunes as an instant download when you pre-order the album at the Roadrunner webstore.

Here is the video for 'Bruane Brenn'! The clip was directed by Stian Kristiansen, and it features a bunch of cool little kids.

Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of Norwegian adrenaline-pushers of Heavy Rock N' Roll, Kvelertak. The band will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Meir' (which means “more” in Norwegian), produced by Converge’s Kurt Ballou, on March 26, 2013. Their first single, “Bruane Brenn,” has early critical acclaim from several tastemaker outlets including Stereogum, who raves, “It’s a total blast of riffs, adrenaline, football chants, and guitar solos, and in its four minutes, you get five decades of rock ‘n’ roll, compressed into one massive speedball hit.” The single will be available on iTunes beginning February 5, 2013 and will be available as an instant download when you pre-order the album. An exclusive CD/T-shirt bundle will also be available that day at the Roadrunner webstore.
