PHILIP ANSELMO & WARBEAST: Split EP 'War Of Gargantuas' Crushes The Senses Without Caution!

As previously reported, Anselmo and Housecore Records thrashers WARBEAST have a NEW split album entitled 'War of the Gargantuas'. The split, which is a total tease, includes two songs from each artist. This album serves as the first release of any solo work by Anselmo. Also, the two WARBEAST tracks on the split feature former bassist Alan Bovee before his amicable departure from the band. Since then, Dre Karst has joined on bass. Get it HERE!

See what other press sources are saying about 'War of the Gargantuas':

“Veterans of the scene, WARBEAST don't simply rely on the '80s template. Rather, they blow it up and rebuild it into an even more vicious and vital monster… This is everything ANSELMO fans and metal fans have been hoping for and so much more. As with all of his projects, you've got to hear it to believe it.” – ArtistDirect.com, 5/5 Stars

“The combination of PHILIP ANSELMO and WARBEAST make War Of The Gargantuas a vicious, brutal onslaught of Metal that creates the ultimate teaser for both bands.”- Bloody-Disgusting.com

Bruce Corbitt Reveals The Cause Of Death Of His Bandmate Mike Scaccia (MINISTRY & RIGOR MORTIS)!

As previously reported HERE, Mike Scaccia passed away last night (Saturday, December 22) at the age of 47. According to Rolling Stone, Scaccia was performing onstage at the Rail Club in Fort Worth, Texas, as part of a 50th birthday celebration for Rigor Mortis singer Bruce Corbitt, when he collapsed. Shortly afterwards, he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the sad news of Scaccia's untimely passing, rumors surfaced regarding the cause of death. Thankfully, Corbitt has taken matters into his own hands in order to clear the rumors. Here is what he was posted on his Facebook page:

"Please everyone... I know there has been so many rumors and reasons that Mike passed away. This stuff about strobe lights is totally false. I wanted to wait for the official cause of death to be released. But I already knew when it happened. Here is the official word... RIP Mike Scaccia. SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH Due to: ATHEROSCLEROTIC AND HYPERTENSIVE HEART DISEASE"

Corbitt has always been paying tribute to his friend and bandmate today, here are some heart felt words he posted earlier today:

"Mike was always so close to his parents. When his Mom passed away... he called me and asked me to come up to the studio and be with him when he recorded this song he wrote to have played at his Mom's funeral. So I went to Kerry Crafton's studio to support him during his huge loss. I was touched at the strength and emotion he showed that night when they were recording these tracks.

"I know that no one had the privilege to watch Mike play guitar more than Casey, Harden and myself. We always knew all sides of Mike's talents. He could play anything... as you can see in this video. Love ya and miss ya bro!"

Our hearts go out to Scaccia's family, friends, fans and all of his bandmates! ROCK IN PEACE!

PHILIP ANSELMO & WARBEAST Confirm Release Date For NEW Split Album ‘War of the Gargantuas’ (Anselmo’s First Solo Record)!

Legendary Pantera, Superjoint Ritual and DOWN vocalist PHILIP ANSELMO and Housecore Records thrashers WARBEAST recently announced that they will be releasing a NEW split album entitled 'War of the Gargantuas'. The split now has an official release date of January 8, 2012 and will include two songs from each artist. This album serves as the first release of any solo work by PHILIP ANSELMO during the span of his nearly 30-year legacy. Also, the two WARBEAST tracks on the split feature former bassist Alan Bovee before his amicable departure from the band. Since then, Dre Karst has joined on bass.

“This split is a glimpse into the future of both my solo project and ultimate Thrash Metallers WARBEAST. The title of the split is 'War of The Gargantuas' and it is fitting on many levels because of our combined love for the 60's Japanese film of the same name, the power of our combined musical output(s) and our humorous affection that plays out within each of our "Gargantuan" personalities,” states PHILIP ANSELMO. “Both WARBEAST and myself have full length LP's that will be released shortly after this is released, but this split is unique musically. It is a time capsule; a loud pause ‘til we both release our full length products. Enjoy the destruction of music!”

“These two songs we have on 'War of the Gargantuas' were the next level after Krush The Enemy,” states WARBEAST guitarist Scott Shelby. “They've been a staple in our set list for the last two years. These songs are a pure demonstration of our unique Texas thrash Metal style.”

WARBEAST also recently announced the upcoming release of their second full-length album, 'Destroy'. The album is scheduled to be released in early 2013 via Housecore Records and is currently in the mastering stages. Stay tuned for more information on Destroy coming very soon.
