VAN HALEN Announce First Concert Of 2013 Following Eddie Van Halen's Illness
Last year, Van Halen booked and then canceled a full scale tour after Eddie Van Halen underwent an emergency surgery for a severe bout of diverticulitis. As a result, VAN HALEN's tour in support of 'A Different Kind Of Truth' had to be put on stand by.
One of the gigs that the band had to cancel was at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. The arena Rock band, including original frontman David Lee Roth, is among the headliners set for this summer’s Rock USA at Ford Festival Park in Oshkosh.

Blast From The Past: Eddie Van Halen Performing “Beat It” Live With Michael Jackson!
Eddie Van Halen recently spoke to CNN about the guitar solo he contributed to Michael Jackson’s”Beat It”, released 30 years ago.
Eddie and Michael have only performed the song together once. This historic event happened July 14, 1984 during The Jacksons ”Victory Tour” concert in Dallas, Texas. Here’s video of the unrehearsed performance (this video’s quality is so-so, but still is a big improvement over the crappy version most people have seen) and all the known photos from the concert.
As previously reported, Eddie Van Halen underwent an emergency surgery for a severe bout of diverticulitis. No further surgeries are needed and a full recovery is expected within four - six months. The long hospital stay of 3 weeks was required because surgery to remove the infected intestine resulted in another infection when Van Halen popped a few stitches.
