Diabolic Death Metallers BELPHEGOR have announced special shows for their 20th anniversary in 2013. The bands frontman, Helmuth, comments:
"Twenty years full of chaos and diabolical music. Yes... seemingly unreal! After fighting 10 months to get my life back, it feels amazing to be able to create the NEW sound collages coming to you next March!
"Next year we are planning some of our most crushing stage rituals to appease the demons worldwide. Really looking forward to these special jubilee shows in 2013. We're on fire. An honor - this horror!"
As previously reported, the band is currently locked up at Mana
Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida working on their NEW,
yet-to-be-titled album, with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL). The band’s impending
10th studio release is due in March of 2013 via Nuclear Blast Records.
As previously reported, Freddy Cricien and company are releasing a NEW EP later this month! Entitled 'Rebellion', the band rejoined forces with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL) and laid down the law at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. The EP will be released through The BNB Label, a brand extension of frontman Freddy’s Black N Blue Productions group.
The 6-song EP features four NEW tracks and newly recorded versions of two cuts from the band's legendary 1989 7", 'Ball of Destruction'. "I was 12 when we did that original recording, and I don't have the best memory when it comes to a lot of things, but I do remember that session," commented Freddy Crician (vocals). "We recorded 'Ball of Destruction' at Don Fury's studio on 2-tracks, live, with no overdubs. You went there, paid him a few hundred dollars and bang everything out. That session had me, Vinnie Stigma (Agnostic Front) on guitars, my brother Roger (Miret, Agnostic Front) on bass and Will Shepler (ex-Agnostic Front) on drums. We also had Craig Setari (Sick of it All) and Mark Ryan (Supertouch) on backing vocals. As gritty as the original recording was, it was cool to be able to go in and re-record a couple of the tracks ("Get Out," "It's My Life") for this new EP," says Cricien.
'Rebellion' marks the first Madball recording with drummer Mike Justian (ex-UNEARTH & THE RED CHORD), who took over the drum throne following the departure of Jay Weinberg (who recorded Madball's latest recording 'Empire').
Here is what Cricien had to say about "The Beast," one of the four NEW tracks Madball recorded for 'Rebellion': "That one is about going through the trauma of an anxiety attack. It's something a lot of us have unfortunately have had to deal with, me included. It's a different kind of song, lyrically, for Madball, but it's just like anything else we've written about... it's very real." Click here to listen to "My Blood" (courtesy of Mass Appeal)

It is no secret or surprise that as soon as Madball steps on any stage, the crowd goes ape shit. The NYHC legends ALWAYS performs a devastating set that makes the whole floor shaking like an earthquake, a hurricane, and a monsoon, all mixed into one. The hungry Hardcore "kids" know that the real deal Hardcore that has been Madball's trademark since 1988, still has plenty of creative juices left.

Supreme Death/Black Metal commando, Belphegor, will enter Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida next month to begin work on its NEW, yet-to-be-titled album with producer, Erik Rutan. The band’s impending 10th studio release is due out late 2012 on Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented vocalist, Helmuth, “Around 2006 I [had] contact Erik the first time, I guess. We talked about the producing of the 'Bondage Goat Zombie' album, but he wasn’t available. This time, we have to do it! Our sound, attitude… or lets say trademark, is a symbiosis of all extremities that came out of this glorious genre... Diabolical Black Death Metal.
“Since February 2012 we [rehearsed] and [wrote] hard on nine shredding sound collages. To record chapter X with Erik is perfect, since he exactly [knows] what we need and how we get this done.
“The thing is, the NEW compositions are full of intensity and pure aggression. The combination of European Metal coldness, atmosphere and sickest elements - crossed with an American brutal sound, is the master plan. This experiment is going to be ultra-sick!
“I dig to work with motivated, possessed and enthusiastic artists, to keep the fire burning, in all related things (producers, musicians, etc.) no rules, all is permitted. This is the main reason why Belphegor survived almost 20 years!”
“I am very excited to be recording and mixing the NEW Belphegor album at Mana,” added Rutan. “After many discussions with Helmuth, and hearing some clips of NEW material, I know that the band is very focused and determined on making a harmoniously evil extreme masterpiece. We shall make one beast of an album that the fans have come to expect from Belphegor!”
