Norwegian extreme Metallers SATYRICON, are globally known for always pushing boundaries by never
conforming to what might 'expected'. This philosophy is applied by the band to this very day. The members of SATYRICON are thrilled to announce a very special, exclusive show at Oslo
Opera House on 8th September 2013, where they will perform together with
Norway's 55-strong National Opera Chorus.
SATYRICON's leader and visionary, Satyr comments:
"SATYRICON excels as a band, the bigger the platform is. In Norway,
there is no greater stage than the main hall of our new Opera House.
There is nowhere better suited to provide the dynamics, power and
authenticity to such an occasion than the Opera Chorus and SATYRICON. We
are also excited to have a couple of special musical friends come and
play their part as well. Ladies and gentlemen - welcome!"
The Opera
Chorus' lead conductor, David Maiwald adds: "Mixing different musical
expressions is always exciting. When the internationally acclaimed black
metal band SATYRICON meets the voluminous voices of the Norwegian
National Opera Chorus, we expect a powerful and monumental result, rich
in innovative surprises."
Tickets for this event will go on sale Wednesday, May 22nd and can be purchased here!

Read on for a few reviews of the already critically acclaimed 'Silencing Machine':
"While not as outwardly experimental as 'Assassins' and 'Addicts' genre cross-breeding, 'Silencing Machine' still pushes [NACHTMYSTIUM's] sound forward, bringing the psychedelic and post-punk influences into an organic synthesis with their anthems to the welkin at midnight." -- DECIBEL MAGAZINE
"After releasing two albums--2008's 'Assassins: Black Meddle Part 1' and 2010's 'Addicts: Black Meddle Part 2'--that strayed significantly from the band's black metal roots, Chicago's NACHTMYSTIUM have returned to the wintry void with their latest, 'Silencing Machine.'" -- REVOLVER MAGAZINE
"NACHTMYSTIUM has always been the torchbearer when it comes to pushing black metal's boundaries to unthinkable, un-forest locales and while 2008's 'Assassins: Black Meddle Part I' and 2010's 'Addicts: Black Meddle Part II' were impressive bouts of exploratory surgeries, it is 'Silencing Machine' that is the true follow-up to NACHTMYSTIUM catalogue highlight 'Instinct: Decay'..." -- BRAVE WORDS
"The tracks are brutal, melodic, and powerful, merging all the best elements of NACHTMYSTIUM into one potent mix." -- HAILS AND HORNS
To give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of 'Silencing Machine', NACHTMYSTIUM has now launched the fourth of five in-studio videos featuring exclusive footage and interviews with the band. Filmed and edited by Justin Baron, who recently did the YAKUZA documentary, part 4 spotlights synths/electronics specialist and producer Sanford Parker, and it can be viewed here:

NACHTMYSTIUM Premiere Title Track & Reveal Cover Artwork For 'Silencing Machine'
Over the past few years, NACHTMYSTIUM has been widely heralded for their unique brand of psychedelic, Pink Floydian Black Metal, earning them "album of the year" accolades and praise for 'Black Meddle Pt.1: Assassins' (2008) and 'Black Meddle Pt. 2: Addicts' (2010) from critics and fans alike. But as a band that's always on the move, the Chicago outfit is ready to bring their 6th full length album, 'Silencing Machine', back to the more traditional Black Metal sound found on their break-through album, 'Instinct: Decay' (2006). Recorded at Engine Studios with the band's own synths/electronics specialist Sanford Parker (YOB, PELICAN) handling Producer duties, 'Silencing Machine' is, as front-man/lead guitarist Blake Judd puts it, "A fuckin' Black Metal record".
Set to be released on July 30th in Europe and July 31st in North America via Century Media Records, 'Silencing Machine' promises to be the next celebrated chapter in NACHTMYSTIUM's storied career. For a first preview of what's to come, listen to the title track "Silencing Machine", and an exclusive interview with Judd are now available on Pitchfork.com's "Show No Mercy": http://pitchfork.com/features/show-no-mercy/8852-industrial-revolution/

Swedish Metallers DARK FUNERAL Ink Deal With Century Media Records
Swedish Black Metal legends DARK FUNERAL and Century Media Records are proud to announce the signing of a worldwide deal for the next 3 albums.
Guitarist and founding member Lord Ahriman comments: "Our bad luck with labels in the past has for sure been very frustrating. So it is with great pleasure to finally be able to turn the page, move on and start a NEW dark chapter in the DARK FUNERAL saga, as we join the great Century Media family. Century Media has more than enough proven to be a stable and highly professional label. And we are totally looking forward to this NEW cooperation, which I'm sure will prove to be very satisfying and successful for both parts. Hail the goat!"
Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R at Century Media Records Europe, comments: "I always respected DARK FUNERAL for their endurance and integrity. They've gone through some hard times, but never gave up and also never gave in to compromise on their musical and aesthetic vision. Almost 20 years after their formation it's still the same powerhouse of unmerciful Black Metal and the NEW line-up is stronger and more focused than in the past. Thanks to Lord Ahriman and the whole band! Looking forward to their 20th anniversary in 2013 with a new album In The Sign Of The Horns!"
Founded back in 1993 in the depths of Sweden by Lord Ahriman and Blackmoon, DARK FUNERAL has proven to be one of the leaders of the second wave of Black Metal among other legends such as MARDUK and DARKTHRONE. While other Black Metal bands lost themselves through the late 90's/early 2000's, DARK FUNERAL managed to remain faithful to their roots, be it musically, aesthetically and lyrically. After 5 albums, hundreds of live rituals, the band leaded by Lord Ahriman and now featuring Nachtgarm on vocals is ready to embark on a NEW satanic crusade with Century Media Records.
Expect nothing but pure Black Metal the way it was meant to be.

BELPHEGOR To Enter Mana Studios Next Month; NEW Record Due Later This Year Via Nuclear Blast Records!
Supreme Death/Black Metal commando, Belphegor, will enter Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida next month to begin work on its NEW, yet-to-be-titled album with producer, Erik Rutan. The band’s impending 10th studio release is due out late 2012 on Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented vocalist, Helmuth, “Around 2006 I [had] contact Erik the first time, I guess. We talked about the producing of the 'Bondage Goat Zombie' album, but he wasn’t available. This time, we have to do it! Our sound, attitude… or lets say trademark, is a symbiosis of all extremities that came out of this glorious genre... Diabolical Black Death Metal.
“Since February 2012 we [rehearsed] and [wrote] hard on nine shredding sound collages. To record chapter X with Erik is perfect, since he exactly [knows] what we need and how we get this done.
“The thing is, the NEW compositions are full of intensity and pure aggression. The combination of European Metal coldness, atmosphere and sickest elements - crossed with an American brutal sound, is the master plan. This experiment is going to be ultra-sick!
“I dig to work with motivated, possessed and enthusiastic artists, to keep the fire burning, in all related things (producers, musicians, etc.) no rules, all is permitted. This is the main reason why Belphegor survived almost 20 years!”
“I am very excited to be recording and mixing the NEW Belphegor album at Mana,” added Rutan. “After many discussions with Helmuth, and hearing some clips of NEW material, I know that the band is very focused and determined on making a harmoniously evil extreme masterpiece. We shall make one beast of an album that the fans have come to expect from Belphegor!”

CATTLE DECAPITATION Is Done With NEW Album; "Occupation Domination" US Tour Announced With Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings of Saturn & BATTLECROSS!
Cattle Decapitation wrapped up recording their NEW album last week and have returned home for a couple weeks before heading out for their European tour with Suffocation! The album was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio. The humans of earth can expect a much more updated production, complete with some surprising guest appearances and the kind of musical exploration that garnered the band droves of NEW fans with 2009's 'The Harvest Floor'. Once again, Cattle Decapitation gives us more extravagantly intense artwork from artist Wes Benscoter and the CD/LP layout are as over the top as the album's concept itself.
Some of the track titles on the NEW album include: Forced Gender Reassignment, A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat, and The Carbon Stampede. All of the details from the NEW album such as, cover art, track list, guest appearances, and pre-order info will be revealed in the coming months.
Cattle Decapitation is also pleased to announce their participation in the "Occupation Domination 2012 US Tour" with Origin. Vocalist Travis Ryan has posted the following update: "We're fresh out of the recording studio and are very much looking forward to dissecting the auditory canals of all who bear witness to our set on the upcoming US tour with our friends Origin! We're hitting up some areas that we haven't in a while and those who we are missing this time, not to worry… you will be seeing us back out on the road over the coming months as we support our upcoming album. We will also be focusing a lot on international touring on this NEW album, which will keep us away from the states for a bit, so we urge our USA fans who want to see us to be sure to mark when we're coming through their town on their calendars. We are very excited to show the world our NEW material and are looking forward to sharing information regarding our NEW album in the coming month! Stay tuned… stay GORE!"

Cattle Decapitation Begins Recording NEW Album!
Cattle Decapitation entered Denver, CO's Flatline Audio on January 7th to record the highly anticipated follow-up to their critically-acclaimed album 'The Harvest Floor' (released in 2009 via Metal Blade Records).
Front man Travis Ryan has this to say: "We spent the first two days mapping out tempos and getting things situated, drums mic'd all that stuff. Just started tracking drums today and everything is sounding great! We're excited to start laying down some tones and getting this beast finished and in the hands of our fans and friends."
The band has a small crew filming all steps of the way so fans of the band can look forward to studio video reports via the band's YouTube channel and getting the full album details in the coming weeks when album title, cover image and track listing as well as immediate U.S. and European tour plans are revealed!

Ptahil Streams NEW Album 'For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory'
The latest long player from Indiana Black Metal miscreants PTAHIL is streaming right now thanks to Decibelmagazine.com. Initially unveiled via Cvlt Nation in the Fall, right now you should listen to Ptahil's NEW album entitled 'For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory'. Already released in North America on November 14, 2011, the record will make its European debut on January 16, 2012 via Wraith Productions.
Sit back and summon the forces of darkness. (You'll also get the added bonus of learning some interesting background behind the band's mysterious name). 'For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory' is an imposing assault of Satanic Doom/Punk/Black Metal on the senses, composed and recorded in complete adversarial ritual.
Click here to listen to Ptahil's 'For His Satanic Majesty's Glory'
Words from the converted:
"This ranks right up there with the new Absu as one of the best occult Metal albums of the year!" -- Wormwood Chronicles
"This will scar you mentally as well as aurally... this gives you those moments of when Black Metal was new and a very hidden art form on the world. Well done, PTAHIL." -- AZM
“These two creatures of the dark universe have conjured up nine songs that will sting you like the lash of the whip of your underworld master.” — Cvlt Nation
“PTAHIL appreciate how to disturb the listener to good effect.” — Alternative Matter
“…be prepared for a violently blissful ascension toward their goal of annihilation.” — Forbidden
“Lightly melodic Black Metal which from time to time is reminiscent of Watain… The more you listen to the album the more captivating and stronger it becomes… PTAHIL is a band to keep an eye on.” — Lords of Metal
“…if you like your Metal dirty, with a Punk attitude and aesthetic that often shifts into more traditional metal leanings, and are gung-ho for some “hail satan!” shenanigans, then this record is probably going to satisfy you…” — Music Emissions

Cattle Decapition: NEW Album Update - Video Teaser Available
One year ago, Cattle Decapitation returned home from headlining 'The California Blood Tour' and decided to take the next year off, to begin writing the follow up to their critically-acclaimed 2009 release "The Harvest Floor".
Ever since then, the band has been holed up in the confines of their rehearsal studio in National City, California and are preparing to release a new slab of human-dissecting carnage for a Spring 2012 release via Metal Blade Records. The band will be recording in January/February in Denver, Colorado at Flatline Audio with producer/engineer Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Catheter, Trivium) and will play a small handful of shows on the way out to Denver showcasing their new material.
Artist Wes Benscoter is again on board to deliver more breathtaking GOREgeousness to the album cover as he has done on our past 4 releases. We will be announcing the album title, cover image and concept in the next few months.
Here's what guitarist Josh Elmore has to say about the new material:
"As it comes down to the home stretch before recording, we have been focusing on getting the last two songs written as well as refining and tightening the tracks which are already completed. The overwhelming impression I get from this new batch of tunes is that they have benefited greatly from a more streamlined approach to composition and song structure. A lot of these songs are very "to-the-point" with just enough embellishment to keep them dynamic, whilst avoiding sinking into some bells-and-whistles mire. Lean and mean.
"There will be no forays in 8-string djentiness and none of us bought v-neck shirts or deck shoes to "modernize" our sound and look, respectively. Expect some riffy, ripping blackened death-grind with nods to our past work and tastes of what's to come. These songs are going to be a blast to play live and we are anxious to have these recorded and get on the road to play them for you."
The band will be playing a ton of new material as well as some old gems at the following shows on their way out to the recording destination:
- 1/4/2012: PHOENIX, AZ @ The Clubhouse
- 1/5/2012: ALBUQUERQUE, NM @ The Launchpad
- 1/6/2012: DENVER, CO @ The Marquis Theater
