TROUBLE Announce That They Are Coming Back!

Chicago Metal legends TROUBLE return with their first album since 'Simple Mind Condition', released in 2007. The album is entitled 'The Distortion Field' and it features 13 tracks and will be released by FRW Records in North America on July 16th 2013 and in Europe on July 26th, 2013.

'The Distortion Field' makes history in the TROUBLE camp through the band's acquisition of a NEW lead vocalist, Kyle Thomas of Exorder and Floodgate fame.

Commenting on NEW vocalist Thomas, TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell says, "Kyle is one of the most impressive singers I've ever heard, and by far the most extraordinary singer I've ever had the pleasure of working with.  He's got incredible range, incredible power, and an incredible knowledge of TROUBLE, as he's been a fan for 20-something years. We've known him forever, and he innately understands what TROUBLE is about.  He's like the perfect guy to come in and do this job. It's awesome."

Veteran Music Producer Bill Metoyer is once again lending his expertise, having previously worked with the band on 'The Skull' and 'Trouble', both Metal Blade releases.

"Musically, I think this album is a true TROUBLE record.", states Wartell. "In the early days, we used to just write what we felt and didn't really care about what anyone said.  We just wrote heavy riffs and played our music our way. But outside influences can kind of get a hold of you and start telling you what to do. When we were writing this album, the thinking was, we don't care what anybody thinks. We're going to write what we write. So this is basically a return to our roots, while combining some reflections of our band's long history as well. With the two different music writers, Bruce and myself, we have a slight variation in our writing; Bruce has more of a '70s groove to his writing, and I'm more the old school doomy metal thing. And when you put it together, you get TROUBLE."

The band consists of Kyle Thomas - vocals, Rick Wartell - guitar, Bruce Franklin - guitars, and Mark "Marko" Lira - drums.

The band has planned a string of festival dates and will tour the album in both Europe and North America. Visit the band's website www.newtrouble.com for updates.

BROKEN HOPE Update Fans On Status Of The Band & NEW Album!

Chicago Death Metallers BROKEN HOPE have now issued a band and album update! Read on for the latest news, straight from the band themselves:

"We want to give you all a quick BROKEN HOPE update before the New Year, and we have some exciting news! First, congratulations to BROKEN HOPE's own Shaun Glass on the birth of his first child: Maddux Burton Glass, born Dec 17, 2012. Maddux enters the world just before Christmas and just as BROKEN HOPE is writing the NEW album!

"Speaking of the NEW album, we can officially say that we've written 11 songs so far-- and are still trucking along with more material. The NEW material is so ferocious, we jokingly sum up the vibe of the NEW music as 'Reign In Bowels' because it's like someone took SLAYER's 'Reign In Blood' and mated that intensity and horror with the extremity and sickness of BROKEN HOPE's 'Bowels of Repugnance' album... It's insanely heavy and unrelenting! That said, here's a couple song titles we can release to you all-- chew on these: 'The Flesh Mechanic' and 'Give Me the Bottom Half.' We can't wait for you to hear 'em all! Happy Holidays everyone!" -- BROKEN HOPE

BROKEN HOPE was formed in 1988 by Jeremy Wagner, while he was in high school. Shortly after formation, they recorded two demo tapes and signed with indie label, Grind-Core Records. Then in 1991, they released their debut album, 'Swamped In Gore', launching the band out of the underground and into the mainstream. From there, the band signed to Metal Blade Records and released three more albums, all stellar examples of BROKEN HOPE's fury, which etched their place in Death Metal history.

After BROKEN HOPE's last album (1999's Grotesque Blessings) and world tours, Wagner cleaned house and put BROKEN HOPE into "Metal hibernation" in 2000. On January 20, 2010, original BROKEN HOPE vocalist Joe Ptacek tragically committed suicide. He was only 37 years old. Before his death, Ptacek met with Wagner and Shaun Glass and discussed the resurrection of BROKEN HOPE. With Ptacek's death, Wagner and Glass took time off to reconsider their next moves.

In 2012, BH signed with Hard Impact Management and vowed to make BH a full-time monster-- forever. Wagner and Glass recruited longtime friend and GORGASM vocalist, Damian Leski, as their new vocalist, and shortly after marked their return on the highly successful Carnival of Death tour. BH's high-intensity COD concerts received top-praise, and confirmed BH was back, and more rabid than ever. BH is currently booked for the 2013 editions of Extremefest (Germany) and Maryland Death Fest.

BROKEN HOPE's first decade was filled with non-stop writing, touring, and constant visibility. The next chapter in their career will be much the same.

BROKEN HOPE Inks Record Deal With Century Media Records!

Century Media Records is pleased to announce the signing of reformed Chicago Death Metallers BROKEN HOPE.

Jeremy Wagner, BH's founder and chief lyricist/songwriter, comments: "For years, I wanted to write a new BROKEN HOPE album and see BH firmly placed with a NEW home. My dream came true as BROKEN HOPE just signed a worldwide deal with Century Media. I've harbored great appreciation for CM and its stellar roster of artists since '88, and I'm extremely happy and grateful to see BROKEN HOPE become part of the CM family. My sincere thanks to Robert Kampf and Maurizio Iacono for embracing our musical art. Watch for a NEW, sick and über-ferocious BROKEN HOPE album to hit the globe in 2013!"

Bassist Shaun Glass adds: "After taking part of an amazing North American tour that saw the rebirth of BROKEN HOPE, we are excited to be part of the mighty Century Media family. We promise to unleash one brutal and classic BH album next year!"

BH was formed in 1988 by Wagner, while he was in high school. Shortly after formation, they recorded two demo tapes and signed with indie label, Grind-Core Records. LOLLAPALOOZA Evacuated Due To Extreme Weather!

This just in via The Associated Press:

"Chicago police are evacuating fans from the Lollapalooza music festival because of a line of advancing thunderstorms. Police spokesman Officer Darryl Baety says the festival was ordered shut down at 3:30 PM after a severe thunderstorm warning was issued. Festival-goers are being evacuated from downtown Chicago’s Grant Park to underground evacuation and shelter sites along Michigan Avenue.

"The Red Hot Chili Peppers are scheduled to play last on the main stage Saturday. The three-day event concludes Sunday and is sold out, Shelby Meade, a spokeswoman for promoter C3 Presents, says the company regrets having to suspend the show, but that safety comes first.

"Powerful winds from an advancing storm were responsible for last summer’s deadly stage rigging collapse at the Indiana State Fair."
