DEVILDRIVER Announce NEW Album Title & Release Date; Album Cover Revealed!

DEVILDRIVER have confirmed that the title of their new album is 'Winter Kills'. The album will be released worldwide on August 27th via Napalm Records. The band recorded the album in Florida at Audio Hammer Studios and vocals in Los Angeles, CA at Dez's home studio with Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, All That Remains) handling production duties.

DEVILDRIVER has worked with Lewis previously on "Beast" and "The Last Kind Words" and producer Mark Lewis's prolific leadership of the new school of metal has yet again helped DEVILDRIVER deliver another Epic heavy Metal record. This record melds what the band does best. In your face power as well as the California Groove sound the band pioneered.

The artwork for Winter Kills features a photograph by Dean Karr.  The layout was done by Ryan Clark/Invisible Creature.

"This is by far DEVILDRIVER's most cohesive, powerful, groove laden record to date!

We delivered our signature California Groove sound alongside a Raw and Biting guitar tone, mixed it with massive hooks, added in thunderous drums to rethink, and reshape another different sounding unique piece of Rock-N-Roll! Cutting our own path is something to be proud of. DEVILDRIVER has always and will forever be about thinking outside the box and delivering on something different from record to record, we cannot be assimilated into any scene or even genre of Metal and we will continue to do things our own way with a massive middle finger in the air to the status quo!"

Hail RockNRoll
- Dez FaFara

The band will be hitting the road worldwide in support of Winter Kills.  Touring as always will be a focal point for the band. The US can expect to see them this fall and winter with Europe and the rest of the globe coming in 2014 and beyond.

LACUNA COIL's Andrea Ferro: Life On The Road, NEW Album, AC MILAN & Marriage As A Touring Musician!

On April 17th, Italy's LACUNA COIL arrived at the Best Buy Theater in New York City to warm hundreds of ear buds for both SEVENDUST and COAL CHAMBER. Also on the bill were the great folks from STOLEN BABIES. While warming up a crowd is never easy, LC makes it look easy. For all of us who have seen them perform live, we know they take their job very seriously and this is evident from the moment they step on stage. Even though they were forced to perform without their bassist
Marco Coti Zelati who has tendonitis, they got the job done!

Prior to his bands performance Andrea Ferro (the male voice of LACUNA COIL and the founder of the band) met with us backstage to chat about all things LC. During the interview, we talked about the band extensive three month tour and how he manages to keep his marriage healthy while on the road. We also talked about the dynamic between him and Cristina Scabbia (the bands female voice), and how this has on effect on the bands signature sound. He also offered us an update regarding the future of the band and of course we talked about Italian soccer! Without further due, here is our in-depth interview with Andrea Ferro.

COAL CHAMBER To Join Forces With Their Former "Enemies" In SEVENDUST?

Late last year, SEVENDUST guitarist Cling Lowery announced that SEVENDUST were might be joining forces with COAL CHAMBER for a massive tour!

Well, according to Blabbermouth, COAL CHAMBER and SEVENDUST will be teaming up for a U.S. co-headlining tour this April. Thus far, only one date has been revealed: April 4 at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In 2003, the two bands engaged in a well-publicized feud and even SEVENDUST dedicated their single "Enemy" to COAL CHAMBER's very own Dez Farara. Morgan Rose from SEVENDUST told Tacoma, Washington's The News Tribune at the time about the war of words:

"It's been pretty humorous, actually, because, to be honest, [Dez is] not really someone who's important to society. So it's not like I'm talking about anyone that many people really know about." He continued: "COAL CHAMBER was a really popular band. Now they're not a band anymore, and my [then-]wife [bassist Rayna Foss] was probably the most popular member. The irony of this whole thing was I didn't want to give him any press. ... It was laid out on a press release that I kind of got tricked into. I wanted it to be a more universal song. A lot of people have people they don't like, that treat people that they care about with no respect. [My wife is] the reason I was mad at him in the first place. He treated her awful, while she was pregnant with my daughter inside of her. He was completely stressing her out and making her upset."

Stay tuned for more news about this touring package!

Don't forget that SEVENDUST will set out on a headlining tour with Lacuna Coil starting February 2, 2013 in Winston-Salem, NC at Ziggy’s. Tickets are on sale now! Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.

Dez Fafara Talks About His Sister Illness, NEW DevilDriver, Reformation Of Coal Chamber & More!

Ever since 1994, Bradley James Fafara (A.K.A. Dez Fafara) has been pushing his artistic abilities to the furthest limit possible. Founding member of the Heavy Music powerhouses Coal Chamber and DevilDriver, Fafara is constantly perfecting his music abilities. Just like a true warrior, Fafara knows that the only way to stay on top is to keep on fighting by working hard on his craft and persevering regardless of the obstacles he faces. His latest obstacle? The illness of his sister Kerri, who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Please help her and the Fafara family out by downloading Dez's newest song "Dark Meadowlark" here: www.dezfafara.com

COAL CHAMBER Update By Dez Fafara: "About a week ago, they sent me some new tunes and said..."

When Coal Chamber arrived to the Heavy Music scene in 1994, their music was assimilated by millions of fans worldwide thanks to their fresh sounding mix of Heavy Metal and Alternative Music blended with elements of Industrial Metal. Aside from their music, their gothic imagery also helped to captivate a ton of eye balls that were rather confused at what Coal Chamber was feeding to them. After a successful run that spanned from 1994 to 2003, Dez Fafara left the band due to internal problems. Shortly after he left the band, Dez joined DevilDriver and we all know the results of this crushing band by now: uncompromised hard hitting Heavy Metal!

After reuniting this past March for a series of concerts as part of Australia's Soundwave Festival (video below), DevilDriver singer Dez Fafara has an update for the COAL CHAMBER fans:

"What we did is [the members of the original COAL CHAMBER band] started talking over the last six years — they were coming around to DEVILDRIVER shows and such; I mean, they actually hang out with the DEVILDRIVER guys in L.A. more than I do, 'cause I live outside of L.A., about two hours. We did that Australian run and it went just spectacular. After that, we went down and we did South America for nine days [in September], and that went killer. So now we're starting to kick around, like, 'OK, do we wanna hit the States? Do we wanna do something?'

"COAL CHAMBER, for me right now, is like a really fine woman, man. I've gotta re-date her — she's back in my life, I've gotta see how she is, and we've gotta take our time with each other. And that's what we're doing. And I think that's the important thing — we're doing it for the love of the music as well. There's a lot of people that never got to either see COAL CHAMBER live or haven't seen us in a long time due to the breakup.

"It's good to see [the other guys in the band] off hard drugs, man, and you can see these guys are crystal clear, and it makes me wanna do music with them again.

"Right now, with COAL CHAMBER, that's what we're doing — we're taking it slow. About a week ago, they sent me some new tunes and said, 'Hey, would you ever think about doing a NEW record? Here's some NEW tunes.' And they were absolutely killer. They were moving forward with their sound, but yet you could tell it was COAL CHAMBER, but it wasn't so linear. So who knows what's gonna happen in the future, man? We're just playing it by ear at this point. I've got a lot going on right now, so we just have to really see."

GWAR Announces NEW Guitarist PUSTULUS MAXIMUS; NEW Album In The Works!

It was a little less than a year ago that the world was rocked by the passing of Flattus Maximus, back to the cosmos from whence he came. And since that day fans of GWAR have wondered how the mighty overlords of GWAR would deal with the void it left within the band. GWAR responded the only way they knew how-by soldiering on-and continued to play as a four-piece. But from the very beginning of that phase, the quest began to find the NEW Scumdog that was in every way as magnificent as his predecessor. Today the members of GWAR are pleased to inform their legions of followers, and even more so their many enemies, that once again the band is whole, with the proclamation that long-lost cousin of Flattus, Pustulus Maximus, has officially joined the band in the position of lead guitarist, and will join with the group on their upcoming "Fate or Chaos" tour with DevilDriver.

Pustulus offered his first words to the press with the following, "At this point I have nothing to say to the press, even though I am talking to you. I will let my guitar speak for itself. But let me add that I am blood-sworn to honor the legacy of the great Flattus and indeed the whole Maximus tribe. I didn't come here to fuck around. HAIL FLATTUS!"

But how did all of this come to pass? It was easy to get a quote from GWAR lead singer, Oderus Urungus:

"Naturally we were devastated by the passing of Flattus. But we turned that grief into rage and set about the task of finding a NEW guitar player. The first thing we did was sound the mighty Horn of Hate, and alert all Scumdogs, scattered across the galaxy as they are, as to what had occurred. What people didn't know about Flattus was that was is part of a huge tribe of brutish warriors, The Maximus Clan. They are at the core of any Scumdog Legion worth its blood! Planet Maximus is just crawling with them!"

Oderus farted, blowing a hole in the wall, and continued. "Many of the tribe had fought and even played in bands with Flattus, and we began to get messages from across the stars. The Scumdogs were coming! Coming to Earth to lay tracks on our NEW album, and pay tribute to the mighty Flattus. Soon the War-Barges of Maximus tribe members began to appear in Earth's orbit... and land outside our great temple! Bubonis, Infectitcus, Fartacus, and many more-all have participated in the creation of the songs that shall be on our NEW album, which will be out sometime next year.  But it was not until the hulking form of Pustulus appeared at the studio door, bloody guitar in hand, that we knew we had our NEW member. Here was a being that was supposedly born with a guitar in his fist, which of course resulted in the death of his beloved mother, whose body he immediately devoured. If anyone can replace our beloved comrade, it is this foul creature. Because he can fucking shred."

Little else is known about this being, other than that he has a skin condition where his face and feet are covered in painful pustules that can only be soothed by the application of savage Metal, spoiled elephant semen or oral sex. Pustulus is also rumored to be half-deaf, which leads him to yell at everyone, which he does often, because he is convinced everyone in the band is ignoring him when actually he just can't hear what they are saying. It is not known whether he crashed his Scumship into Antarctica or wandered up from the depths of GWAR's Antarctic fortress - all that is known is that he is here, now, and is ready to ROCK.

But GWAR fans wont have to wait until the tour to witness the ax-mastery of Pustulus.
Make sure to visit The A.V. Club http://www.avclub.com tomorrow to see Pustulus as he shreds for the first time with his Scumdog Brothers in GWAR on a very special song that no other band would play, because it is so fucking hard. Unless of course you are GWAR.

COAL CHAMBER Performs In Buenos Aires, Argentina - Live Footage Available!

Earlier this year, during an interview with Australia's Loud magazine, Dez talked about how the COAL CHAMBER reunion came about: "In '05, Meegs [Miguel Rascón, guitar] started coming around. He apologized to my wife for the way things went down with COAL CHAMBER, because when COAL CHAMBER split up I had to move my family into a one-bedroom apartment and start all over. So when he apologized to my wife, I thought, 'Well, OK, he's got a big heart inside him. And he's clean off the hard drugs now, let's see if this goes awhile.' So let's fast forward a few years to '09, he and Mikey [Mike Cox, drums] were still clean off hard drugs, Meegs came out and did 'Loco' onstage with DevilDriver. After that he gave me a hug onstage and in my ear he said, 'Let's do this again.'"

Earlier today (Wednesday, September 5) COAL CHAMBER performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can watch the bands live performance HERE!

You can listen to an exclusive interview HERE!

As previously reported, Dez Fafara has announced that he in talks with the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California in order to have COAL CHAMBER perform their first Los Angeles-area show in over 10 years.

GWAR-B-Q A Huge Success Even Though "Attack Of The Show" Hottie Didn't Make It!

"Beyond our wildest dreams, and they can get pretty kinky, we were almost completely 100 % satisfied with this years GWAR-B-Q", said lead singer Oderus Urungus, reached at his Antarctic bungalo. "Everything went well, except that hottie from Attack of the Show didn't show up... but I suppose that is understandable. We did feed her to a worm last year!"

From everything to the weather (which was an enjoyable 85 degrees), to the authorities (who seemed to be enjoying themselves), to the bands (who all put on amazing sets), all conditions were in perfect alignment and the much-anticipated event went off without a hitch... well, almost.

Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie had this to say about the event: "The "Meat and Beat" went great, and Oderus stayed in the area an extra three hours to make sure everybody got to hang out with their Lord and Master. It was a great line-up of great bands, and we got to see both Sleazy P. AND The Sexecutioner! It was a huge improvement over last year (when we didn't even manage to have it outside) - we made big strides this year and I am sure next year we will get even bigger and better. Rest assured any hiccups we had have been noted and will be sorted out for next year's event... so see ya at GWAR-B-Q 2013!"

Perhaps the best way to judge the success of the event is to hear it from the fans themselves-

Worth the drive down from Delaware for sure!!! Always up for GWAR especially when they bring Sexy back!!! And Ghoul kicked ass too!!
-Tom Flynn

It was still worth every second, dying of thirst or not. I was there for GWAR and to have a good time which I did. And that's all that mattered.
-Kristen Maresca

I had the greatest weekend of my life. My son and I traveled from Florida and it was worth every penny we paid!
-Lonny Amendolea

Thanks to all of the people that made this awesome event happen. GWAR is currently working on a new album, the first since the passing of longtime guitarist Cory Smoot last year. Look for an announcement soon regarding GWAR's search for a new Scumdog as GWAR prepares to debut the newest member of the GWAR tribe on this fall's "Fate or Chaos" North American tour.

COAL CHAMBER To Perform First U.S. Show In Over 10 Years!

Shortly after he left the band, Dez formed DevilDriver and we all know the results of this crushing band by now: uncompromised hard hitting Heavy Metal!

After reuniting this past March for a series of concerts as part of Australia's Soundwave Festival (video below), DevilDriver singer Dez Fafara has announced that he in talks with the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California in order to have COAL CHAMBER perform their first Los Angeles-area show in over 10 years.

Earlier this year, during an interview with Australia's Loud magazine, Dez talked about how the COAL CHAMBER reunion came about: "In '05, Meegs [Miguel Rascón, guitar] started coming around.
