SLIPKNOT wants you to create NEW art that will twist your mind around in circles. Illustrate an original piece of art in poster form for SLIPKNOT inspired what you have "felt, imagined, and gone through" while listening to the band's music over the last 12 years.

SLIPKNOT has released their greatest hits album 'Antennas to Hell', a very special collection of their songs, that reflects the amazing odyssey of their last four projects over the last twelve years.

The extraordinary percussionist, M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan, has written a moving personal directive welcoming you to open up your creative floodgates to envision the personal impact that the music of Slipknot evokes for you. We are excited to share clown’s passion for this very special event.

DESIGNERS READ THIS:

A Note from clown – A Collection of Your Visions

Hello to all of our fans out there, everywhere in the world. As you probably already know Slipknot is embarking on a one of a kind tour this summer, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and culminating with the first annual Knotfest in Iowa and Minnesota on August 17th and 18th. Since this will be the last tour for just a little while, we decided to do something very special for all of you while we patiently await a NEW record (which will come sooner than you think).

We have put together a special collection of our songs that takes you through our thought process over the span of four albums. One of the greatest things about this collection is that it has been put into a specific order by the band. It will be a unique way to listen to our songs by yourself or with your best friends and follow our lives while recording four albums over twelve years. This truly will be a one of a kind experience. Also, as you know when we release an album of any kind we give you new art to twist your mind around in circles, making you think and create visions related to the songs you are listening to. This has always been important to band because everything we do has a precise intended concept connected to it.

With this said, we’ve decided to let you open up your mind and love for our band, our connection to all of you, which makes up a one-of-a-kind culture under the name Slipknot. We want you to create an original piece of art in poster form that explains what you have felt, imagined, and gone through over the span of our four records. We know how personal our music is to us so we know it’s equally as personal to you. Open up your creative floodgates and let the pain of love out onto tangible art forms and make a poster describing your connection with our band, albums, songs, art, performance, and most importantly with our culture that begins with you. We, Slipknot, patiently await your visions. This will be a new way to connect with one another and for everyone to enjoy the culture we have built. We await and are very excited for this project that is inspired by art that only the school of Slipknot would assign to all of you. This will be one big saturated dream. Thanks for everything. We love each and every one of you. Again, get to work already.

-clown

SLIPKNOT Premiere Chaotic "Broadcast From Hell"; Shawn Crahan Talks About 'Antennas To Hell'!

Slipknot is like no other band the Rock scene has ever encountered and to celebrate two decades of game-changing existence, the band will release 'Antennas to Hell', a "best of" collection documenting its inimitable career, on July 24. The album is scheduled to be released via Roadrunner Records while the band is spending its summer as the main attraction of the 2012 edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, as well as curating and headlining the inaugural year of  their very own festival, Knotfest. Click here for all the details!

'Antennas to Hell' will feature two bonus discs: a live CD of the band's 2009 Download Festival performance and a 10-part "Broadcast from Hell" video series created by Crahan. Nine of the clips highlight each band member, and the tenth, which you can watch exclusively here, documents them all together. "I took two songs and I grabbed elements, made a remix and I put it under the montage," Crahan explains. "The remix does not match up with the montage. It's supposed to be chaotic and fucking crazy ... I did not want to remix songs that are held as God to people. We hold those songs as sacred."

NEW SLIPKNOT "Greatest Hits" Album 'Antennas To Hell' - Full Details Available!

For their millions of fans around the world, Slipknot are as much a culture and a way of life as they are a band. To completely engage with all of the perseverance, ingenuity, artistic integrity and holistic vision of Slipknot's creative output in all of its forms, is to fully embrace every facet, and to find community in counterculture and true strength in survival.

The time is right for a "best of" collection from the band, as it captures the first chapter of Slipknot – a chapter where they’ve gone from unknown to the one of the biggest Rock bands in the world -- all on their own terms.

This summer’s Mayhem and Knotfest outings celebrate the band and the life of late bassist Paul Gray, and will serve as ‘the end of the beginning’ for Slipknot – this summer’s performances will be the fan’s last chance to see them as they are now. Of course the band will continue- but just as inevitable with Slipknot, is the fact that the band will evolve - and the future is unwritten. 'Antennas to Hell' serves as a companion to that celebration. The two-disc version of 'Antennas to Hell' includes a bonus live CD that captures the band’s 2009 performance at the legendary Download Festival in the U.K. The live disc showcases the band playing a set of career spanning classics in front of 80,000 rabid fans. The journey from - “(sic)” - track 1 on their self-titled debut -  to “Snuff”  - the haunting No. 1 Rock track from 2008’s 'All Hope Is Gone' - proves that. The album features fan favorites, live classics and well-known radio hits.

Furthering the immersion in the band’s culture, this summer will see the release of the band’s first ever mobile application, "Wear the Mask". Part mask builder, part social connector for fans, and 100% Slipknot in its look and execution, the app brings the Slipknot mindset into previously uncharted territory –  the mobile devices of fans worldwide. "Wear the Mask" will be released simultaneously with 'Antennas to Hell'.

Take a look at the numbers. Globally, Slipknot have notched 11 Platinum albums and 38 Gold albums, as well as some multi-Platinum releases across albums and DVD releases. The band's most recent studio album, 'All Hope Is Gone', debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. The band has won a Grammy, and has also been nominated seven times.

Slipknot -- vocalist Corey Taylor (8), guitarist Mick Thomson (7),  DJ Sid Wilson (0), percussionist Clown (6), late bassist Paul Gray (2), drummer Joey Jordison (1), percussionist Chris Fehn (3), guitarist Jim Root (4), sampler Craig Jones - 133 (5)-- came to embody all that it meant to be “heavy” both in terms of  melody and subject matter, as well as in their commitment to the purest of expression and to the ultimate empowerment and triumph of their audience. Founded in 1995, and immediately foresaw the inevitable domination of an artistic vehicle that would expand the boundaries of possibility within Metal and Hard Rock music, both onstage and off.

The band has spent over a decade slowly and methodically cementing their place as one of Rock’s most loved and hated acts. They’ve dominated their own headlining tours and festivals around the world while maintaining the fiercely loyal support of their following, both embracing and engaging their fans with their steady evolution. Slipknot continually challenge their fans with NEW ventures, greater challenges, and NEW and exciting music. To the surprise of many outside of the culture (but not to the band and its fans), Slipknot's most recent #1 song was a ballad – the haunting and riveting "Snuff". To not evolve is to die.

Today, Slipknot stand alongside institutions like Metallica and Iron Maiden, as one of a select few bands whose legacy is assured within the pantheon of elite Heavy Metal bands.

Slipknot march on, 15 years since the first incarnation came together. Personalities may collide but their collective drive continues to keep them bonded as brothers. "We're banded together in hate," says Jordison. "Sometimes we hate each other, sometimes we hate the world. Sometimes we just hate our own lives. But when we get together, something monstrous happens and we pull this amazing sound out of all that energy. Plus, we believe in world domination. And this is the band that’s going to get us there.”

Always imitated, never duplicated, there is only one Slipknot. And they're peerless.

A Bunch Of SLIPKNOT Updates: NEW Album, "Knotfest", Greatest Hits Collection & More!

After the passing of Paul Gray (#2), the Heavy Music world became to a halt awaiting for SLIPKNOT to either end their musical legacy or to continue spreading the sickness! As we all know, May 24 was the two-year anniversary of Gray's death from an overdose of drugs.

Thankfully, after months of mourning the band decided to pay tribute to Paul Gray by headlining the 2010 version of the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, England. While the band has been skeptic about recording the follow up for 2008's 'All Hope Is Gone' (available now via Roadrunner Records), since they didn't feel like they were in the proper head space. SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor has confirmed that the group is finally "putting together demos" for its fifth major label album, which it is expected to begin recording next year for a mid-to-late 2013 release.

Additionally, SLIPKNOT will make a "big announcement" tomorrow (Monday, June 4th), according to a posting on the band's official Facebook page. The artwork that accompanied the message can be seen on the left hand side of this paragraph.

As previously announced, SLIPKNOT's greatest-hits album, 'Antennas To Hell', is scheduled for release on July 17 via Roadrunner Records. There is no word yet on which tracks will be included on "Antennas To Hell", and if it will contain any previously unheard music or other bonus content.  Click here to view the trailers for 'Antennas To Hell'!

According to Ticketmaster.com, SLIPKNOT will be headlining the inaugural installment of their own festival, "Knotfest", on Friday, August 17 at Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa.
