TOMAHAWK have unveiled the video for "Oddfellows," the title track from their recently released album. The live clip, which features an assortment of animation and appropriately odd graphics, was filmed and animated by Vincent Forcier.
'Oddfellows' is the band's first release in over six years and has already become Tomahawk's highest charting debut, cracking the Billboard Top 100 and landing at #2 on Billboard's Hard Music chart and at #9 on the magazine's Indie chart. The Onion gave the album an "A-" and said "Oddfellows doesn't reject anything Tomahawk had done before. It just does it better." Alternative Press said "Oddfellows is a multifaceted and consistently fascinating album" and Revolver called it "a surprising, thoroughly consistent return-to-form," adding the album is "the first contender for hard-rock album of the year."
The band (Duane Denison, Mike Patton, John Stanier and Trevor Dunn) return to the road tomorrow, with the quartet's first west coast dates in over a decade kicking off at The Showbox in Seattle. Other upcoming performances include a stint on Australia's Soundwave Festival and stops at Lollapalooza in both Brazil and Chile.

TOMAHAWK: Listen To Mike Patton's Latest Musical Creation 'Oddfellows'
Tomahawk's forthcoming album, 'Oddfellows' (Jan. 29, Ipecac), is now streaming in its entirety via Spin (link below). The album stream is accompanied by an interview with all four band members: Mike Patton, Duane Denison, John Stanier and Trevor Dunn. A few excerpts of the interview follow.
Your projects as of late have been a lot of soundtrack work, musique concrète, avant-jazz, and orchestral pop. What's most satisfying about the traditional rock band format?
Mike Patton, vocals:
There's still something attractive to me about it. I guess on a personal level it gives me a jones since I don't really write that kind of stuff anymore, not that I ever did. More traditional guitar, bass, drums; it's not something completely natural to me. It's in a way, exotic.
You guys all live in different parts of the globe. How does this band happen?
John Stanier, drums:
People ask "Where is Tomahawk from?" I don't know, the U.S., I guess?
Mike Patton:
There's two of us in New York so I guess we're a New York band. We've never really been a typical band that says, "Hey let's meet on Tuesday and practice for three hours." To be honest I've done that and I'm not really into that anymore.
Stanier:
It's always Duane sniffing around asking if we want to do another Tomahawk record. And everyone, of course, is like "Yes, absolutely." And then another nine months will pass and he asks again and then everyone says, "Yes, definitely." We've probably been talking about doing this record for the last two years.
Does he send CDs in the mail?
Stanier:
Maybe the last couple of times he's finally started to send MP3s. But even five months ago six months ago, he was sending actual CDs.
And the actual recording…
Stanier:
We meet up and rehearse for a little bit and bang it out. Then everybody goes about their merry way and we meet up again for tour. It's the absolute simplest, most professional ensemble I have ever been involved with, by far. Even for this record, I swear, we rehearsed for like a day and a half, if that.
Patton:
I flew in and then we were going to rehearse for a week and then record. The day after I flew in I got some really bad news about some family stuff and then I had to leave the next day. So I wasn't able to record in the same room with those guys, which is what we intended all along. It wasn't as intended, but I think it came out alright.
Duane Denison, guitar:
Things are a little slower here [in Nashville], you can take your time doing things, things cost less. Rehearsal spaces are cheaper. Studio time is less. Everything is less. And so when these guys come here, you feel like you can take your time and allow your ideas to gestate a little more. We can go get, oh, I don't know, catfish or barbeque or something like that. You have time to think about what does it really mean to you. You're kind of away from the media centers here, so you're not under the microscope all the time. You don't feel like you're on the clock and somebody's watching you all the time. There's a reason why this is becoming more and more popular here. There's a reason Jack White moved here and the Black Keys moved here, and other people are coming down here. Atlanta's kind of a hip-hop and R&B thing now. People are warming up to the South.
Listen to 'Oddfellows' HERE!

ORANGE GOBLIN: Video Premiere Of "Acid Trial"!
'A Eulogy For The Damned' is ORANGE GOBLIN’s seventh studio album and first under the Candlelight Records banner. The offering continues to reap praise for its pure, sonic awesomeness from fans and critics nationally. Popdose called it "…pretty damn fantastic. Rockin’, riff-tastic and possibly the best record from start to finish that they’ve released yet". Blistering crowned it "…a total pure-bred Metal album", adding that, "there’s not a trace of fluff or even a sideways idea to be found, which makes its execution all the more impressive", while Decibel proclaimed: "Long-haired limeys, maximum riffage and turbo doom. Biker Rock. From England. And it’s pretty awesome". Metal Underground agreed: "With a sound that splits the difference between Sabbath and Motörhead, ORANGE GOBLIN serves up a potent dose of ’70s-style Metal on 'A Eulogy For The Damned'. Gloomy doom and Punk power have seldom sounded so good together", while About.com added: "Orange Goblin's A Eulogy For The Damned… is a lesson for the lesser ones. This is how to make a solid Heavy Metal album. It’s how the Chimera roars when it wants everyone to hear".

MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine & Former ANTHRAX Guitarist Dan Spitz, Release Music Video About Autism
What happens when you collide some of the biggest Heavy Metal musicians to shout the truth to the world? You start a NEW band called RED LAMB. Dan Spitz, formerly of Anthrax, and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, who together have sold records approaching 50 million copies, are telling the story of what it's like for a family to live with identical/mirror image twins with Autism. Dan Spitz and his wife, Candi, have identical twins with Autism and are vocal advocates about the cause and taking the power of music to now help educate awareness on a global level as never before.
The music video for the song "Puzzle Box" is a song with lyrics co-written by Mustaine and Spitz and with all music by Spitz is gaining a foothold in the music community rather swiftly and taking a stance in the usual Heavy Metal fashion of pulling no punches. In addition to these two legendary musicians of The Big 4, they have recruited Grammy winner Chris Vrenna of Marilyn Manson as well as famed Grammy nominated producer Johnny K to mix the song.
Dan Spitz was one of the co-founders of the legendary band Anthrax, a band now included in the Big 4 (Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer), who single-handedly changed the face of Heavy Metal music by breaking down many barriers once never allowed. Anthrax first mixed hip-hop and Heavy Metal with the legendary collaboration on their track, "Bring the Noise", as well as the first Heavy Metal/Hip Hop world tour featuring Public Enemy and Anthrax. Now Spitz has returned to music after his hiatus in Switzerland, to become a master watchmaker of the world's most complicated mechanical wristwatches, to once again pave NEW ground for a great cause.
Candi Spitz devotes all of her free to time to the largest Autism non-profit, Autism Speaks www.autismspeaks.org. She can be seen on every billboard, print ad, newscast and radio ad. Candi and RED LAMB have recruited Austism Speaks co-founders Bob and Suzanne Wright to be in the video for ‘Puzzle Box’. Bob Wright was the CEO and Chairman for NBC Universal for more than 20 years, who also has a grandson with Autism. The extensive filming of ‘Puzzle Box’ was done over a three month period and includes footage from the “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” in Palm Beach, Florida where thousands were filmed for the video. Other notable people in the video include WPTV Channel 5 anchor Mike Williams and television and film actors who open the video.
Dan Spitz says, “It's time for someone in music to wake the world up to Autism. We have Holly Robinson Peete in film, we have vocal people in NASCAR and of course Dan Marino and others in sports. Now it's time for someone who lives it to speak the truth to the people in true Metal fashion. I come from a time when the lyrics of a song represented truth that can certainly change the world. Now it's time to let people know we are in epidemic form with Autism, as 1 in every 88th child born (1 in every 54th boy) will be diagnosed in the spectrum. I feel that if we don’t do something now about this the Autism epidemic, more will people will suffer the consequences. Autism is on your block now.”
The band RED LAMB is a self-funded band with no outside support, working on the principle of releasing music on their own via iTunes/Amazon through Tunecore distribution.

CATTLE DECAPITATION Premieres Music Video For “Kingdom of Tyrants”!
Today prime horror one-stop, Bloody Disgusting, hosts the exclusive premiere of “Kingdom of Tyrants” from CATTLE DECAPITATION’s forthcoming 'Monolith Of Inhumanity' studio offering. The disturbingly twisted 9-minute mini-film was directed by Mitch Massie with live band footage shot in San Marcos, California by Tyson Montrucchio.
Comments singer Travis Ryan: "We've kicked around the idea of doing a mini-film out of a song that has a big intro for years now and when I saw Mitch Massie's work on one of our friends' videos, we knew he would be the one to pull it off. We had no idea he would bring it to a level such as this though. The ‘Kingdom of Tyrants’ mini-film completely leveled our expectations. Having given him director styles I would have liked to see used such as Matthew Barney, Harmony Korine and Ridley Scott, I still never assumed we would have received something so in line with what we had in mind for this as what you see here with this video. It's disturbing. It’s thought-provoking. It’s 100% CATTLE DECAPITATION and in the direction we've been heading. Massie is the man and this is by far the best video we've ever had the pleasure to be a part of."
Adds director Mitch Massie: "I acknowledge that I will rightfully burn in some subdivision of Hell for even attempting a rough tribute to Kubrick, but at least I will make Hell a home with CATTLE DECAPITATION and a few other damned risk-takers as neighbors. When Travis and I spoke about the concept it was a comforting fact that he too had reservations about picking fruits from the Kubrick tree. It wasn't until the first night of production was over and we sat down to watch the shaky rough footage when a rather sardonic thought sparked the flint that ignited the funeral pyre in me, ‘fuck it, while we are here, as parts of our generation that dry-humps references in an over-saturated landfill of technological trinkets -- where nothing is sacred -- anyway, we might as well bury the rest of the masters in the filth they inspired in us and enter our homes justified. I'm a soulless ginger anyway so what do I care about these new risks of damnation when I never had a chance to begin with?’ Every move made in a music video production is dictated only by the song and when listening to the ‘The Monolith’ and/or ‘Kingdom of Tyrants’ can one truly feel it is anything but a beautiful damnation? I will never know but can only hope that I married images with the song so well that the monolith may swing back around with a chance to evolve, or completely de-evolve into some foul animal, and do another damned project for this incendiary and all around amazing band."
Witness the cinematic sickness at THIS LOCATION.
An achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible-to-pigeonhole records of 2012, Monolith Of Inhumanity is set for a North American release on May 8, 2012. Produced by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio, the 11-track recording sees the progressive grind purveyors exploring innovative new techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage. In addition, Monolith Of Inhumanity features a host of guests including Mike Majewski of Devourment (guest vocals on "Projectile Ovulation"), Lenard Leal of Cephalic Carnage (backing vocals by on "A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat"), The Cephalic Carnage Community Men's Choir, consisting of all current Cephalic members and alumni Jawsh Mullen and Zac Joe (gang choir vocals on "The Carbon Stampede"), and ambient and noise interludes by Los Angeles' most extreme decimator of sound, John Wiese. As with all of the band’s releases, Monolith Of Inhumanity revolves around a central concept, building upon Ryan’s potent distaste for contemporary civilization and the damage wrought in the name of progress. A concept inspired in part by 2001: A Space Odyssey is once again captured in the cover art by longtime collaborator Wes Benscoter, depicting a bleak apocalyptic future and the regression of mankind into apes.
In related news, CATTLE DECAPITATION is currently bringing their audio pummel to the stage on the Occupation Domination 2012 tour. The band is joined by Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings Of Saturn, Battlecross and more! Check out confirmed dates below:

Good Friday headbangers, below Van Halen are premiering the second single off their NEW album, 'A Different Kind of Truth', rolling out the single and video for “She’s The Woman.”
A fun and nasty rocker with a synchronized guitar/bass intro that nearly knocks you cold, “She’s The Woman” is an instant reminder that Van Halen can still work the heavy bag. This tune is one of six NEW songs that originated from older material from the seventies and is one of the most prototypical VH songs on the album. The driving riff is a cross between “Mean Street” and “Outta Love Again” and could have easily found a comfortable home on any early DLR-era material.
“A Different Kind of Truth,” (released Feb. 7th), marks the first original Van Halen studio album with Roth on the mic since “1984.” Read our review here. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are on tour through the end of June. Gear up for the show with great Van Halen apparel at www.VanHalenStore.com.

HELLYEAH Release NEW Single/Machinima Video "War In Me"!
Hard Rock supergroup HELLYEAH is back with the first single from their forthcoming their third album, entitled 'Band of Brothers' out July 17th, 2012. The band has partnered with Machinima, the next generation video entertainment network for video gamers which has over 166 million unique gamers who viewed in excess of 1.4 billion videos in February 2012, to premiere a video of video game sniper footage for the first single War In Me. Watch the video below!
The album, the band’s first effort for their NEW label home, Eleven Seven Music, was recorded in Dallas at drummer Vinnie Paul’s home studio, VP’s Upstairs Studio, and was produced by the band and Jeremy Parker (Godsmack, Evanessence), who also served as engineer.
Having produced track after track of heavy-hitting, in-your-face, feel good Rock N' Roll on their previous two albums (2010’s 'STAMPEDE' and 2007’s self-titled debut), 'Band of Brothers' sees HELLYEAH taking a slightly different musical direction. Drawing on their former bands’ collective Metal roots for inspiration, the influences and style of Mudvayne, Pantera, Damageplan and Nothingface are immediately recognizable in tracks such as “Band of Brothers,” “War In Me” and “Rage Burn,” while the party anthem “Drink, Drank, Drunk” retains the essence of earlier HELLYEAH.

Frontman Chad Gray comments, "I'm really excited about what we've done on this NEW album. I've always separated Mudvayne and HELLYEAH as much as I could, even though it was my voice. Melodies, lyrics and just the overall style of writing were different. With 'Band of Brothers', I just quit being afraid of who I am in relation to this band. I think we've all really gotten back to the original roots of what we've done individually and brought it together on this album. As an artist, as long as you’re painting with your own brush, no one can compare or challenge you. I just painted with a bigger, heavier brush than I had with HELLYEAH in the past. I think this is what fans have always expected to hear from us, and now were giving it to them."
Vinnie Paul echoed the sentiment in a recent interview for Loudwire.com : “On our first two records, we were a NEW band. We really wanted to branch out and expand and experiment with all different styles. We all come from traditional Metal bands and backgrounds, so it was a great breath of fresh air to play in a band that was Rock N’ Roll, blues and Southern Rock. We got that out of our system and got really focused on going back to our Metal roots. It’s heavy, focused, groove-oriented and I’m excited about it.
Jeremy Parker said, “It's impossible not to have a good time jamming this record. It has the anger and violence of Pantera and Mudvayne, but a party vibe that can only be HELLYEAH!”
