Desi Sanchez: Education, Passion & Action!

Desi Sanchez (born Adesina Sanchez) is one of the most dedicated and passionate media personalities in the entertainment industry. Not only does Desi proudly represent the Latino culture here in the United States, but she is also leaving a mark in music, fashion and culture. This is why we decided to interview Desi about her past, her present and her future. We predict that Desi will become one of the top media personalities in the United States within the next 5 years. At the moment she is hosting three TV shows, she is working on her musical sound, and smiling at life. She is also a visual artist and an actress. If you are familiar with Desi, you know that she can make people smile within seconds with her radiant energy.

Desi broke into the entertainment industry when she joined American Latino TV's "Latination" in 2005. Ever since then, she has been working non stop on her skills. She recently became the face of MTV 2, simply because she has phenomenal talent and she is a pleasure to watch on television. Good interviewer, great personality and plenty of latino fire.

If you wonder how Desi became a successful TV personality? The answer is discipline and determination. She is constantly taking classes to better herself, because mediocrity has never been accepted in the Sanchez household. Without further due, here is the interview we conducted with the "brightest smile" in the entertainment industry!

Sugar and Spikes Fashion Show

A few weeks ago we met a real nice group of beautiful women at Don Hill's here in New York City. Not only are they classy and very sexy, they also have a similar mission then the one of Horns Up Rocks. That mission? To bring the New York City underground music and fashion scenes back into what they used to be. Sugar and Spikes is their name:

"SUGAR and SPIKES is a promotional modeling company that handles everything from promotions & marketing to booking venues for rock bands/live shows/events/parties. We are fearless rock inspired women whose main goal is to provide a reliable and professional service to the music community."

On July 19th Horns Up Rocks suggests for all the horns up throwers to come to the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn for the Sugar and Spikes fashion show. The event not only features stunning women dancing the night away, but also live performances by Panzie, TSI and Hate in the Box. There will also be a DJ set by the awesome JennCity! Not convinced yet? Well, check this interview we did with Mika Henderson (CEO) and Miz Katastrophe (Spokes-model).

Queen V: Queen of Rock

Last week we headed to an event called "Take Back New York", which took place at Don Hill's here in New York City. The event featured live music, mixed in with two fashion shows. The event featured the amazing Queen V, a band that plays a very eclectic mix of rock, which makes the girls groove and the guys drool. This type of events bring people together in harmony and the vibe at Don Hill's was impeccable.

That night we had the pleasure of interviewing Queen V and talk to her about music, fashion and culture. Queen V is the type of person that radiates energy on and off the stage. Her talent has taken care to places where most can only dream of. Queen V has worked with Metal God Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, guitar legends Slash and Tom Morello, and many other high profile artists.

If you haven't seen Queen V rock the stage, you need to do your ears a favor and take them to a Queen V show. On Thursday July 29 Queen V will be headlining the 2 year anniversary of the Gotham Rocks showcase, which will take place at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. Gotham Rocks are one of the gatekeepers of the tri-state Rock N Roll scene, and the event promises to be memorable.

Here is an exclusive interview with Queen V! We want to thank the girls from Sugar N Spikes for making this happen.
