As soon as we heard the iconic RAMONES song "Blitzkrieg Pop" on a Coppertone commercial, our ears started kicking our brain. That is the most un-Punk Rock thing we have ever witnessed!
Whoever made the decision to sell the rights of the RAMONES song to Coppertone for commercial use, will most likely get attacked by the ghost of Jeffry Ross Hyman (Joey Ramone). Watch the commercial at your own risk:

Joey Ramone Would Have Celebrated His 62nd Birthday Today - Tribute Available!
Today, in 1951, Jeffry Ross Hyman, widely known as Joey Ramone, was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. Joey's legacy with his band THE RAMONES, is still alive and well even though he passed away on April 15, 2001, in New York City at the age of 49.
Joey's image, voice and tenure, is what made him a staple of the New York Punk Rock scene. He can actually be called the ambassador of CBGB's and is definitely one of the musicians to blame for the legacy that the venue managed to establish. To this day, musicians from all over the world study Joey's on stage presence in order for their own performances to be magical. Joey: you are missed!

TOXIC HOLOCAUST's 'From The Ashes...' Is Streaming Now!

The monolithic 22-track anthology compiles over a decade’s worth of TOXIC HOLOCAUST rarities into one maniacal compilation of hostile bliss. Amassing the band’s many contributions to various comps and vinyl-only splits with the likes of Municipal Waste, Midnight and others, alongside demo versions of timeless TOXIC classics, 'From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction' is a historic romp through the history of one of today’s most revered Punk Metal deviants.
Listen to this awesome compilation now, courtesy of Revolver Magazine
TOXIC HOLOCAUST mutated into existence in 1999, when Joel Grind merged his love for classic Punk and Metal into his ideal band. Like his influences – Bathory, Venom, English Dogs, Possessed, Broken Bones – TOXIC HOLOCAUST offers up blazing riffs, gravel-throated vocals, and a deadly fixation on the evil in man and a post-apocalyptic world wrapped in a DIY attitude.

TOXIC HOLOCAUST Premiere Lyric Video For “Agony of the Damned”
Portland’s favorite Punk/Metal delinquents TOXIC HOLOCAUST recently unleashed a NEW lyric video for “Agony of the Damned.” Initially featured on the band’s 2011 'Conjure and Command' full-length, “Agony Of The Damned” makes an “updated” appearance on the 'From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction' compilation, set for release via Relapse Records next month.
Elaborates band mastermind Joel Grind: “This version of ‘Agony of the Damned’ was recorded in September of 2010 with a drum machine a few months before we stepped into the studio to record the one that appears on 'Conjure and Command'. When making an album, I usually demo out the entire thing before I step into a studio. This keeps costs low and gives me time to sit with it to iron out the details. Since 'Conjure and Command' was the first TOXIC record to feature a full band, this demo served the purpose of familiarizing everyone with the new material and is previously unreleased.”
Lay your peepers on the video now!
'From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction' is a gargantuan 22-track anthology that compiles over a decade’s worth of TOXIC HOLOCAUST rarities into one raging compilation of antagonistic bliss. Amassing the band’s many contributions to various comps and vinyl-only splits with the likes of Municipal Waste, Midnight and others, alongside demo versions of treasured TOXIC classics, 'From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction' is a historic romp through the history of one of today’s most revered, gritty, old-school Metal bands.
'From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction' will see release through Relapse Records on April 2nd in North America, March 29th in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland and Benelux and April 1st in the UK. Additionally, you can check out the 'From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction' teaser video and ordering info HERE.
TOXIC HOLOCAUST is currently in the studio working on the as-yet-untitled follow-up to their 2011 'Conjure And Command' full-length. Praised for its “nuclear reactive riffage and Repo Man punk attitude,” by Revolver and commended for its “tar-thick riffage, staggering breakdowns, and a corroded dose of self-loathing,” by The Onion’s A.V. Club, 'Conjure And Command' continues to reap hails from fans and critics globally. As an added bonus, the band closed the year with the honor of having the song “Bitch” rear its sonic apocalyptic menace in an episode of high-rated FX drama series Sons Of Anarchy (season 5; episode 11).

Dropkick Murphys Singer Fights Skinhead Doing Nazi Salute On Stage!
This past weekend, DROPKICK MURPHYS performed a very special Saint Patrick's Day concert at Terminal 5 in New York City. During their set the band invited tons of fans to join them on stage and jam with them.
One of those fans was a skinhead who decided to do the Nazi salute while was performing a cover of "T.N.T." by AC/DC. As a result, the bands singer Ken Casey noticed this and ran right over to the guy, smashed him in the face, took off his bass and hit him with that and then jumped on him and all out chaos ensued. Here is video of the incident:
In other DROPKICK MURPHYS news, the band has announced a U.S. tour that will last three whole months and will include performances at Coachella, Sasquatch!, and Kanrocksas.

Marky Ramone's BLITZKRIEG Announce New York City Gig, Andrew W.K. To Join Him!
Marky Ramone is best known for the 15 years he spent drumming for the legendary Punk Rock titans RAMONES. Prior to joining the RAMONES, Marky played with an array of influential musicians dating back to his high school years when he was a member of the Brooklyn based Hard Rock band, Dust. Recording two albums with his friends, Richie Wise (guitar and vocals) and Kenny Aaronson (bass) for Neil Bogart’s Karma Sutra/Buddha label.
In the spring of 1978, Marky joined the RAMONES. In a matter of weeks he was in the studio recording his first album with the band entitled, 'Road to Ruin', which features one of the biggest RAMONES hit songs “I Wanna Be Sedated”. The following year the RAMONES filmed the cult classic “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School”. Later that year, they joined forces with producer legend, Phil Spector to record 'End Of The Century'.
After several tours and a two more studio albums, Marky was asked to leave the band 1983, only to rejoin his band mates in 1987 until they decided to call it quits in 1996. His tenure with the RAMONES spanned a total of 15 years. Performing over 1700 shows and more than 15 releases, including songwriting credits on both Mondo Bizarro and Adios Amigos, the bands farewell release.

GREEN DAY's Billy Joe Opens Up About The Addictions That Nearly Took His Life
Last year, GREEN DAY were performing at the IHeartRadio music awards and allegedly, the promoter cut the bands set in half in order to give USHER some extra time during his set. As a result, Billie Joe Armstrong had an onstage melt down when the band is prompted that they have 1 minute left during their hit song "Basket Case".
Following this incident, Billy Joe checked himself into rehab due to substance abuse. As a result, the bands was forced to postpone their North American tour. The good news is that Billy Joe is out of rehab and ready to hit the road in support of the bands NEW music trilogy: '¡Uno!', ¡'Dos!' and '¡Tré!' (available now via Reprise Records). The bad news is that they did had to cancel a bunch of tour dates due to scheduling conflicts.
On the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone magazine (in stands this Friday), Billie Joe Armstrong talks about his years of alcohol and prescription drug abuse and his stint in rehab following his onstage meltdown.
"I couldn't predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night," he tells Rolling Stone senior writer David Fricke. "I'd wake up in a strange house on a couch. I wouldn't remember how. It was a complete blackout." He finally confronted his problem after the Vegas radio festival, where the frontman smashed his guitar onstage and shouted, "I'm not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers."
"I remember tiny things," Armstrong says of the Vegas incident. "The next morning, I woke up. I asked [my wife] Adrienne, 'How bad was it?' She said, 'It's bad.' I called my manager. He said, 'You're getting on a plane, going back to Oakland and going into rehab immediately.'"
Read the full story tomorrow, Friday, March 1st.
The postponed tour dates are as follows:
- 3/28 - Chicago, IL - Allstate Arena
- 3/29 - Moline, IL - Wireless Center
- 3/31 - Pittsburgh, PA - Consol Energy Center
- 4/1 - Rochester, NY - Blue Cross Arena
- 4/3 - Philadelphia, PA - Liacourias Center
- 4/4 - Fairfax, VA - Patriot Center

The Full Metal Jackie Interview With Henry Rollins!
Recently, the very opinionated 51-year-old Henry Rollins, who counts singer/songwriter, radio DJ, actor, author and spoken-word artist among his achievements, appeared on the "Full Metal Jackie" radio show! A few excerpts of the interview follow.
You are a man of many talents – actor, author, musician, activist, journalist, TV host. Is there anything that you don’t do?
Sleep or enjoy moments of solitude and tranquility. I’m not exactly ambitious as much as I have a very good realization of what I am and what I am capable of. I come from the minimum wage working world of the late 70’s, early 80’s and I have a high school diploma – so it’s not like you’re asking me to split an atom or get to the moon quickly.
I am a crass opportunist as much as anything else – in that when someone says, “Hey you want to be in my movie?” I’m like “Yeah, I can’t act so I’m definitely showing up.” I just do stuff and realizing guys like me – I would probably had a life of flipping burgers had I not been very lucky so I remain grateful and kind of running at it at the balls of my feet even 30 years in.
Henry Rollins today is more sophisticated than the 20 year old kid who joined Black Flag in 1981. How has maturity affected the way you’re inspired by heavy music?
Well I’ve always liked heavy music because it was as angry and as passionate as I was. That’s why a lot of us like metal music and heavy music because your heart beats heavy, you have big feelings and big emotions so you take things hard. You win and lose at love and life and you need some kind of soundtrack that hits as hard as you’re hitting life and life is hitting you, hence 80,000 people at the Wacken festival every year, hence the success of all these metal bands and why metal and heavy music is never, ever going to die.
It’s never going to be old, not to me at least and not to millions of other people because we live life in a very full contact way and so that aspect of my life hasn’t changed at all – things still hurt and you try your best and you fail, so you put on a High on Fire record and life gets better. I like music that’s not breaking walls down as well, you have to be eclectic and there’s lots of good music out there – Bob Dylan with an acoustic guitar also works.
I’ve become more mature in the years just because I’m 51, not 20 and I’ve had a lot of laughs from the trek, seen a lot of people die and been to a lot of countries and seen a lot of ups and downs . That kind of exposure to the world, it broadens you – especially all the loss in life, the defeat. If you’re smart enough to learn from it, good lessons and it has made me a more humble person.

HENRY ROLLINS To Appear On The "Full Metal Jackie" Radio Show This Week - Details Available!
The very opinionated 51-year-old Henry Rollins, who counts singer/songwriter, radio DJ, actor, author and spoken-word artist among his achievements, will be appearing on the "Full Metal Jackie" radio show this week! You do not want to miss what Rollins will have to say, so tune in.
Rollins was recently asked why he thinks that so many Americans are so strongly opposed to gay marriage? Here is what he had to say:
"I put out my point of view in a pretty cogent, sober manner," Rollins told Adelaide Now of his quest to gather life experience for his spoken-word gigs. "I go far and wide into the world and get information from crazy, distant places and bring it back to report to you, the audience member, with as much clarity and hopefully vivid storytelling interest as I possibly can. . . I go very far and wide and make sure the information comes from a lot of sweat and choleric burn so I can justify taking two hours of your life every 18 months. By the time you hear me say something from the stage I have busted my arse coming up with every possible angle of that thought."
Make sure you listen to Full Metal Jackie HERE!

The Misfits' Halloween Show Postponed Due To Weather Complications!

From their inception, The Misfits have been primal. Their music is aggressive, confrontational, and dangerous with violent lyrics as seen through the eyes of a monster, coupled with timeless vocal melodies bred from '50s Rock N' Roll. Immortalizing black and white B horror films in their music, The Misfits have developed a ghoulish and totally unique persona, from their handmade musical weapons to the stiletto hairstyle they call the "devil lock". Over 30 years on, the band has endured Hardcore's heyday as Punk Rock's monster squad, a group whose cult following – a pseudo-secret coven known as the "Fiend Club" – has inspired them to continue to write, record, and tour. These "Fiends," who are still multiplying globally, go back now several generations and also include many prominent artists across the Rock genre.
Although The Misfits' lineup has shifted over the course of its career, the group has consistently released incredible, genre-defining albums, including 'Walk Among Us' (1982), 'American Psycho' (1997), and 'Famous Monsters' (1999). Most recently, in 2011 the band released 'The Devil's Rain', its first album of NEW material in over 10 years. The band toured for a good portion of the year in support of the NEW release, unleashing a fresh stage production with all NEW costumes and props.
We will let you know when The Misfits bring their trademark brand of horror punk to New York City as part of their unforgettable Halloween bash. A reschedule date will be announced soon, so stay tuned.

“We got a message about two days ago asking us if we were able to fill in for Green Day because Billie Joe was having some issues,” guitarist Kirk Hammett told Fuse. ”We discussed it between the four of us and we all said, ‘Yeah.’ It would be a great thing for us to do and it would also be great to help out Billie Joe because he’s a friend of ours and we love Green Day. If we can help them out in any way possible, we’re always happy to do it because we love those guys. It’s a honor for us that they approached us and asked if we could fill in.”
Lars Ulrich added: "We are excited to be part of our first ever Voodoo Music + Arts Experience. Our good friends and fellow Bay Area residents Green Day had to unfortunately cancel their plans to be there, so we are more than happy to fill in for them in our own unique way. We’re hoping we can fill those very large shoes and do them proud."
Green Day drummer Tre Cool announced his band would not be playing at the festival earlier this week, stating, "We had to put the life of our friend in front of everything."
Recently, Warner Bros. Records chairman Rob Cavallo, Green Day's longtime producer, released an update statement about the Punk icon, and revealed, "His rehab is no joke. He's under medical supervision for a while to get him clean."
Cavallo fears more shows will be cancelled to accommodate the star's recovery: "His doctors are still evaluating. All I can say is I don't know if we'll see him before or after Christmas. It's basically undetermined when he'll be back."

METALLICA Decided To Help Out GREEN DAY Because "They Love Those Guys"!
A few weeks back we reported that while Punk Rockers GREEN DAY were performing at the IHeartRadio music awards on Saturday, September 22nd, the promoter allegedly cut the bands set in half in order to give USHER some extra time during his set. As a result, Billie Joe Armstrong had an onstage melt down when the band was prompted that they have 1 minute left during their hit song "Basket Case". You can watch video of the incident HERE.
Following Billy Joe's meltdown, GREEN DAY's camp released the following statement via their Facebook page:
"Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."
The band has also been forced to cancel their appearance at the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience in New Orleans on October 27th. Thankfully, the band have found a pretty solid fill-in: METALLICA!
On Friday, Warner Bros. Records chairman Rob Cavallo, Green Day's longtime producer, released an update statement about the Punk icon, and revealed, "His rehab is no joke. He's under medical supervision for a while to get him clean."
