Jerry Gaskill Is Ready To Resume Work On Solo Album Following His Heart Attack - Statement Available!

Right before Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack in late February, the drummer for legendary rockers KING'S X, was busy demoing material for his upcoming solo album with Nashville-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist D.A. Karkos.

"As of now, we have 11 killer songs that we believe will be some of Jerry's (and my) best work to date. And when the time comes, we plan on having some very special guest musicians/friends lend some of their talents to the record as well. Needless to say (but I'm saying it anyway), we are very excited about all of this!

"And to quote Jerry, speaking of his recent heart attack and recovery from his public thank you video: 'This is a really bad situation that I think has turned into a really good situation.' There is no doubt in our minds that we we'll see evidence of this truth on this record."

Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack on Saturday, February 25th. After spending over 3 weeks in the hospital, Jerry left the hospital and his recovery is going well.

Update On The Health Status Of King's X JERRY GASKILL By His Bandmate DON JAMIESON (That Metal Show)!

As previously reported, drummer Jerry Gaskill (King's X, Gunfire N Sodomy) suffered a heart attack on February 25, 2012, and was rushed to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. While he is still on life support, he is fighting his way out of his current condition. Last night, we had the chance to chat with his bandmate Don Jamieson (That Metal Show) and here is what he had to say about Jerry's condition:

"Jerry is a fighter man! I truly believe that it isn't his time to go... I have visited him a few times, and while he is still on life support and heavily sedated, he reacts to my jokes and keeps moving his feet as if he is playing double bass. I keep telling him that he doesn't even play double bass! The doctor's told me to be myself, because that's what you are suppose to do since when a person is in that condition you don't want to freak them out since they have no idea what happened to them. His wife was with him when he suffered the heart attack, she is his angel! I have no doubt that Jerry will get out of it, he is a fighter! Whither he will be able to play music again, who knows? But who cares?! What matters is that he is with us for years to come healthy and strong"!

Please keep sending your positive thoughts and prayers to Jerry and his family!
