Between The Buried And Me embark on their first North American tour since the release of 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence' this coming February. BTBAM will be joining Coheed and Cambria for a six-week tour that kicks off Feb. 4 in Washington, D.C.
The North Carolina band released the enveloping concept album on Oct. 9 via Metal Blade records with the 12-song release becoming the band's highest-charting album (#22 on the Billboard Top 200) and also marking Between The Buried And Me's biggest one week sales their near decade-long history.
A slew of positive reviews heralded the arrival of the album with Alternative Press saying Between The Buried And Me expanded "on every already-top-notch aspect of its conceptual predecessor," Decibel Magazine declaring the band "one of progressive metal's most singular, unique and genuinely progressive bands" and Loudwire awarding the album a perfect score and saying it is "quintessentially brilliant" and "a contender for the best Metal album of 2012."

Tickets for all North American dates are on-sale Friday, Nov. 9 at noon local time with the exception of the Mar. 16 date at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, which will go on-sale the following Friday, Nov. 16.
It has been reported that COHEED AND CAMBRIA have been forced to
postpone all of their previously announced headlining shows this month
so that vocalist/guitarist Claudio Sanchez can receive treatment for
throat swelling. Commented Sanchez:
"I am truly devastated to
tell you that I [could not] perform [Monday night, October 22] in St.
Louis and that we will be postponing all headline shows this week until
after Thanksgiving.
"After holding off [Sunday] night, we felt
confident I’d be good to go [on Monday], but I have spent all morning in
a doctor’s office in St Louis where they did a full evaluation on my
throat and found some swelling that could possibly cause some long-term
damage if i continue without rest.
"I am flying back to New York to see my normal doctor and get fully on the mend.
"I
know this is a big disappointment, especially for those of you in St
Louis — it really hurts us to do this, but it's what we have to do."
As previously reported, COHEED AND CAMBRIA's 'The Afterman: Ascension' is available on both
physical and digital platforms right now in the U.S. thanks to Hundred
Handed/Everything Evil, and distributed through Fontana/Ingrooves (to be
available in Canada via Universal Music Canada). The second volume,
'The Afterman: Descension', is due in February 2013.

"The Afterman" will be released in two separate full-length volumes. A deluxe version of "The Afterman" will include a hardcover coffee-table book with expansive art by Heidi Taillefer and Nathan Spoor with collaborative written work from singer/creator Claudio Sanchez and writer Peter David that will create a song by song experience.
As previously reported, Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd was fired from the band after being arrested by Attleboro, MA Police, after showing a Walgreens pharmacist a note on his cell phone which said he had a bomb and that he wanted some Oxycontin. Oxycontin! Really? Then to make matters worse, he fled the scene via taxi with six bottles of pain pills. Police arrested him without any incidents outside of the Comcast Theater where Coheed and Cambria were scheduled to open up for Soundgarden (the band performed without him). He was charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of prescription narcotics. He was released on July 25th after posting a $25,000 bail, and is currently awaiting trial.
The band has announced that Zach Cooper is the NEW bassist of the band via this introductory video:
The band had previously announced, the return of drummer Josh Eppard, as the replacement of Chris Pennie (who quit the band last year). The band is stoked to be back in form. They recently toured all over North America as part of the "Maiden England" tour with IRON MAIDEN.

Legendary Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden, has just announced that they will be returning to North America for what they have dubbed as the "Maiden England" Tour! Support will come from none other than Alice Cooper, who will be their special guest up until July 21st. From that date one, Coheed and Cambria will take over as direct support for Iron Maiden.
The "Maiden England" tour will kick off in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 21 and will conclude in Houston, Texas on August 18th (see below for more tour dates), to be followed by further dates around the world in 2013. The band is stoked to be performing in various cities that they have not visited in years! Here is what Maiden's vocalist Bruce Dickinson had to say about this epic tour:
"We have great fun playing the history of MAIDEN tours because it gives us an opportunity between new albums to go out and play songs from our earlier catalogue. It's always fantastic seeing the crowd reaction from a new generation of fans who have never experienced some of these tracks performed live before, and of course we know our longstanding fans will enjoy seeing the original 'Seventh Son Tour' revisited — with many other surprises! Our intention is to play about two thirds of the original track list of 'Maiden England', including some songs we have not played live in a very,very long time, plus other favourites we just know the fans are going to want to hear! We always try to give our fans a great show musically, but we have always tried to make it as entertaining and memorable an experience as we can visually. And we all feel this show is going to do that splendidly! We can't wait to get started in Charlotte."

2011 has been a tough year for Coheed and Cambria, not only did drummer Chris Pennie decided to call it quits earlier this month, but they also had to fire their bassist Michael Todd after he was arrested by Attleboro, MA Police this past July, after showing a Walgreens pharmacist a note on his cell phone which said he had a bomb and that he wanted some Oxycontin.
Yesterday, the band announced that they will be rejoined by drummer Josh Eppard and that they have entered the studio to work on the follow-up to their 2010 album "Year Of The Black Rainbow". Here is the band's official statement.
"We didn't originally plan to make a big splash about this, but when Chris made his announcement, we were ultimately compelled to. We didn't want anyone to be concerned about the state of the band, and trying to keep things quiet was proving to be really tough. And besides, we're just really excited and wanted to share that feeling with you.
"Chris Pennie is a dear friend, a superb band-mate and one of the best drummers in the world. He brought a workmanship and sense of professionalism to Coheed that completely improved us as a band, and allowed us to reach new heights. He will always be a member of the Coheed family, and we ask you to support all his endeavors.
"As the songs for the new record began twisting into shape, it slowly became apparent that these songs were very dynamic, and could truly flourish with the groove-oriented approach that Josh naturally brings to the table. We also missed Josh as a person — what he meant to us as friends and the energy and humor he exudes. But this isn't about nostalgia; it's about who we are now, and what we can achieve musically and as a family, together going forward.
"We understand there are risks involved bringing Josh back into the fray. Even with his two years of sobriety, this is a giant leap of faith on our part. But at the end of the day, we have all grown up, and we have all been through so much, that playing with Josh again is sort of like coming home. It's comfortable, it's familiar, it just feels right… it's hand in glove.
"Last week, we entered Applehead Studios with Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner to begin work on our sixth studio album. We're three songs in, can't wait to share it."

"I am very thankful for the years that I shared the stage with the guys and want to thank the amazing, supportive fans that I’ve met while on tour, but there are a lot of exciting projects on the horizon, in addition to Return To Earth and Fight Mannequins, that I feel require my absolute 100 percent commitment and attention. I feel that this is the right time to make that happen."

Then to make matters worse, he fled the scene via taxi with six bottles of pain pills. Police arrested him without any incidents outside of the Comcast Theater where Coheed and Cambria were scheduled to open up for Soundgarden (the band performed without him). He was charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of prescription narcotics. He was released on July 25th after posting a $25,000 bail. The band obviously decided to fire him!
Coheed And Cambria are currently working on the follow-up to their 2010 album "Year Of The Black Rainbow". This week a couple of Heavy Music bass players were on the headlines for behaving like jackasses! The worst week ever for bass players started when Michael Todd from Coheed and Cambria was arrested after he allegedly held up a Walgreens by claiming he had a bomb! Then Nick Oliveri former bassist from Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone, was arrested after battling with a S.W.A.T. team at his Los Angeles home. What lead these two bassists to behave so erratically? Was it because they wanted to steal the spotlight for once? Here is what happened.

Police arrested him without any incidents outside of the Comcast Theater where Coheed and Cambria were scheduled to open up for Soundgarden (the band performed without him). He was charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of prescription narcotics. He is being held on $10,000 bail and will be arraigned on Monday morning.
On the other hand, Nick Oliveri tried subduing the Police after they arrived at the bassists home after the neighbors reported a “disturbance”. According to Police, Oliveri's girlfriend said that she left the apartment after he had struck her the day before. When she came back to get her things out of the apartment and leave Oliveri behind, they got into a heated argument and Oliveri wouldn't let her leave. To make matters worse, Oliveri didn't allow Police to come into the house so they decided to call in a S.W.A.T. team. After a couple of hours, Oliveri allowed his girlfriend to leave and he ended up turning himself in a few hours later. Once inside the apartment, the cops found a loaded rifle. Oliveri was booked on felony domestic violence, but was released after posting $100,000 bail.
