It's official, Chester Bennington from LINKIN PARK is the NEW lead vocalist of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS! As previously reported, former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS vocalist Scott Weiland was fired from the band. HERE are all the details
This passed weekend, STP performed at KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast and introduced Bennington as the replacement for the bands legendary but unreliable vocalist Scott Weiland.
“I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me,” explained Bennington. “When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on NEW music with LP.”
Here are three videos that confirm this piece of news:

UK Progressive Metal band, TESSERACT, are excited to welcome Ashe O'Hara into the group as their NEW vocalist. Ashe's power, emotion, and diversity will help to continue the distinctive yet ever evolving TESSERACT sound. Hailing from Northampton originally, Ashe spent his early years singing in many different groups, from choirs to musical theatre, and has more recently worked on a number of ambient/alternative Metal projects as well as session work. Ashe currently resides in Hove, East Sussex and is eagerly awaiting the upcoming tour and working on the NEW album.
Comments Ashe: "I have always been an admirer of their work so it's pretty awesome to be passed such a challenging flame. I am very aware of the anticipation and I am certainly feeling the weight of it; but I am equally excited for what shall be an amazing and shithot experience!"
TESSERACT adds, "We realize that the vocalist search seemed like it took a long time, but we wanted to make sure that we found someone who was a perfect fit both on stage and in the studio and Ashe is just that. We very much appreciate the patience and support our fans have shown us and look forward to the next TesseracT chapter."
The first preview of that chapter, a teaser of the song, "Nocturne", can be heard here:
"Nocturne" will be available as a FREE legal download and streaming everywhere on October 12th.
"'Nocturne', is one of the most uplifting and exciting pieces of music we have created. It faithfully continues down the same vein of groovy and euphoric progressive soundscapes that we're known for. Whilst at the same time allowing for the musical evolution that is essential for any band that has a lineup change," says TESSERACT
TESSERACT also recently picked up the 'New Blood' award voted for by readers of PROG magazine at last week's first ever Progressive Music Awards in their native UK and are preparing to for a small run through the UK and Europe where you will have the chance to meet Ashe, too.

VITAL REMAINS are no strangers to necessary lineup changes, and they always make sure that the show goes on with a group of musicians that truly represent the bands legendary sound. Recently, singer Scott Wily allegedly "turned his back on the band". Here is a statement from the bands NEW singer Brian Werner:
"For all Vital fans, I want it to be known that Scott Wily is no longer a part of Vital Remains. He turned his back on the band on the Destruction tour hence my current position with the band, leaving us without so much as a word mid tour. He has recently been posting that he is still in the band and working on NEW material and that is not true, so please disregard any comments made by Scott concerning his being with the band and any further involvement he thinks he will have with VR, as there will be none. All band updates and such will be posted by either Tony Lazaro or the Vital Remains Official FB page (line below). We at VR thank all of our loyal fans for their endless support. Come see us on our upcoming tour with Kataklysm starting at the end of the month."

The American/German symphonic Metal band KAMELOT is proud to announce another key piece leading to the release of their NEW studio album.
A question foremost in every KAMELOT fan's mind has been: Who is the group's new lead singer?*
Band mastermind and guitarist Thomas Youngblood has now revealed: "The NEW man is Scandinavian Tommy Karevik!"
The general public may not be overly familiar with the 30 year old Swede, Karevik, but people in the industry know him as the immensely talented frontman of the Swedish band, Seventh Wonder. Youngblood states: "We had around 800 candidates for the vacant position, among them a number of really renowned musicians, and having to reject them really wasn't easy. We want to thank all the applicants, thank you for your understanding and we wish you all lots of success in the future!"
The search for Tommy Karevik.....
In their search for a NEW singer, Thomas Youngblood found YouTube to be an amazing tool: "I listened to a clip of a studio production featuring Tommy and have to confess that his performance really amazed me. His approach to melodies and themes suits KAMELOT perfectly, and during our European shows we had plenty of opportunity to find out what a great guy he is."
Tommy first appeared as one of the guest singers on KAMELOT's very successful 2011 "Pandemonium World Tour". Live footage below. Tommy states: "The tour was a lot of fun and I met a lot of nice people and got some good experience. The guys were super nice and we had a great time together! By then I was really into the band's music and had fallen in love with the amazingly loyal and dedicated fans at every show."
Karevik is thrilled about his NEW position: "I am so honored to now be a part of this family and I can`t wait to move into the NEW era of the band together with the guys. I fully understand that this comes with great responsibility and that it will be a big challenge for me as a singer as well as a person, but you can rest assured I will give it my all. From this day, a new journey has begun and I am really eager to meet you all along the way to share my passion for this music!"
KAMELOT's NEW album is planned for a September 2012 release, which coincides with the beginning a massive World Tour that will bring the band to nearly every continent on the planet. See Kamelot.com for already scheduled concert dates!
Swedish Black Metal legends DARK FUNERAL and Century Media Records are proud to announce the signing of a worldwide deal for the next 3 albums.
Guitarist and founding member Lord Ahriman comments: "Our bad luck with labels in the past has for sure been very frustrating. So it is with great pleasure to finally be able to turn the page, move on and start a NEW dark chapter in the DARK FUNERAL saga, as we join the great Century Media family. Century Media has more than enough proven to be a stable and highly professional label. And we are totally looking forward to this NEW cooperation, which I'm sure will prove to be very satisfying and successful for both parts. Hail the goat!"
Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R at Century Media Records Europe, comments: "I always respected DARK FUNERAL for their endurance and integrity. They've gone through some hard times, but never gave up and also never gave in to compromise on their musical and aesthetic vision. Almost 20 years after their formation it's still the same powerhouse of unmerciful Black Metal and the NEW line-up is stronger and more focused than in the past. Thanks to Lord Ahriman and the whole band! Looking forward to their 20th anniversary in 2013 with a new album In The Sign Of The Horns!"
Founded back in 1993 in the depths of Sweden by Lord Ahriman and Blackmoon, DARK FUNERAL has proven to be one of the leaders of the second wave of Black Metal among other legends such as MARDUK and DARKTHRONE. While other Black Metal bands lost themselves through the late 90's/early 2000's, DARK FUNERAL managed to remain faithful to their roots, be it musically, aesthetically and lyrically. After 5 albums, hundreds of live rituals, the band leaded by Lord Ahriman and now featuring Nachtgarm on vocals is ready to embark on a NEW satanic crusade with Century Media Records.
Expect nothing but pure Black Metal the way it was meant to be.

The Black Metal band Dark Funeral has been forced to rescheduled their previously announced North American tour (scheduled to begin on January 29 in West Springfield, VA). Here is the bands official statement, regarding this matter:
"Due to circumstances and events way beyond our control, there is no other way but to postpone these dates. And yes, our triumphant return to the United States Of America is definitely not canceled, but postponed. And we will try to announce the new North American tour dates as soon as possible, so you better stay tuned! However, our appearance at the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise will take place as planned. Hope to see some of you there."
The NEW lineup of Dark Funeral, which features the group's latest additions - vocalist Nachtgarm (NEGATOR) and bassist Zornheym — made its live debut on the Sweden Rock Cruise. The ship Tallink Silja Galaxy set sail from Stockholm, Sweden on October 6, 2011 and made a round trip to Turku, Finland before returning to Stockholm 23 hours later.
Sweden's Black Metal band, Dark Funeral, have officially announced the replacement for longtime vocalist Magus Caligula (Emperor). Here is the statement from guitarist Lord Ahriman:
"It surely was not an easy task to find a worthy replacement for Emperor Magus Caligula, who has been doing an amazing job for DARK FUNERAL during the past 15 years. He has not only been 'the vocalist' for the band, but also a very good friend and he always will be! Anyway, ten months of intense searching worldwide has finally given result and I'm very proud to announce and welcome Nachtgarm to the horde.
I think I can speak for everyone in the band and say that besides completely knocking us down with the strength of his vocals and wide register, what truly blew us away was his presence, energy and the amazing spirit he showed during the final audition. He just came into the rehearsal room and took his rightful spot. And then just set the whole place on hellfire!
It's really hard to explain 'that' certain feeling one is looking for, but once you get it, you just know that you've found the right man for the job. And that is something we all got 'deluxe.' No doubt about that! Mankind has no idea what is coming upon them. And I can't wait to bring this maniac on tour for the world to experience DARK FUNERAL in the most intense and hellish way ever!
During the time we've been looking for a new vocalist and drummer, we've received over 1000 applications. The interest to join Dark Funeral has been way over expectation and quite overwhelming to say the least. And I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who applied for the jobs. One thing is for sure: There are a lot of unknown talents out there. And once they've found the right band to deliver their goods, I'm sure we all will hear from many of these guys in the future. Good luck!"
Guitarist Chaq Mol comments: "When E.M. Caligula quit the band my first thought was, 'how the fuck will we be able to find a worthy replacement now?' In my eyes, he was the best vocalist in the black metal scene. After we had listened to a couple of hundred applicants, there were two guys that really stood out and sounded very promising. The question was, would they nail it on a live audition too, and would their personalities be of the kind we were looking for? Well, after ten months, we finally found the right man for the job! And all my previous doubts and concerns are now a memory forgotten. Nachtgarm, welcome to the horde!"
Adds Nachtgarm: "To me, Dark Funeral is the epitome of Black Metal. To be a member of this institution now, is not only a big honor for me, but is also complementing my work as a lead singer as well as my action at the front of the stage throughout the years. Consequently, I am very glad that DARK FUNERAL put their unholy faith in me and my abilities. As the successor of Emperor Magus Caligula, I am quite aware of the high expectations being directed to my person. However, I can assure every one of you out there that with every breath I take I will live up to these expectations. Hands down. This is the arrival of Satan’s Empire. Now let us set this world aflame!"
In related news, Dark Funeral have been added to the 70000 Tons Of Metal bill for 2012. The World's Biggest Floating Heavy Metal Festival will sail Monday, January 23, 2012 aboard the Royal Caribbean “Majesty Of The Seas” from Miami, Florida to George Town, Cayman Islands and will return Friday, January 27, 2012. Other bands confirmed for the event include: Amorphis, Coroner, Moonsorrow, My Dying Bride, Nightwish, Pestilence Therion and many others.
