BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME's Bus Catches On Fire As They Celebrate The Release Of 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence' - Statement Available!

Between The Buried And Me's critically-lauded, 72-minute opus, 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence', is available today via Metal Blade Records! Order the album HERE!

In related news, Between The Buried And Me's bus caught fire this morning in England. There are no injuries and no equipment was damaged. There is no effect on the band's tour. Tour manager Courtney Warner adds: "As of now, we are at a service area awaiting transportation to a hotel. A NEW bus is on its way. We shouldn't miss any shows because of this. All gear, luggage, personal items and most importantly, people, are all good. We just stink like smoke."

Paul Waggoner elaborates: "Fuel line done broke. Dadgum flame come shootin out. Peeewwww eeehhhhh sometin' stank. Crazy British feller come hollerin, "Bus on fire, ya'll git." Climb up the ol' hill barefoot and look back at them flames shootin sky high. Firemen folk come rushin up real quick like and squirt that fire plum out. It was lucky nobody was hurt, not even a stubbed toe. Luggage stank like a Mississippi cow pie on a mid-July heat.

"Hopefull, come tomorra, a new horse n' buggy come. We'll giddy on up to Belgium town for a good ol' fashioned hootnanny.

Whoo-Doggies!!!"

We are VERY glad to hear that all band members are safe and sound!

The 12-track album was described by Tommy Rogers (vocals, keyboards) as: "A conceptual journey that takes the listener to worlds that seem familiar and worlds that make you scratch your head." The band's 2011 predecessor, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP, laid the groundwork for the story behind the Parallax releases, Prospect I and Prospect II.

Loudwire described The Parallax II as "quintessentially brilliant," while awarding the release a perfect score. Alternative Press said the band "continue to dominate progressive metal" and are musically "expanding on every already-top-notch aspect." Outburn called the album "otherworldly," while Decibel added that BTBAM are "one of progressive metal's most singular, unique and genuinely progressive bands."

A number of aural and visual clips have been released leading up to the release with the most recent addition audio clips from the entire release, which can be found below. The band has also released a stunning, effects laden video for "Astral Body" HERE and a series of instructional videos (guitar, bass and drums) for "Telos" HERE.

Between The Buried And Me Announce Japanese, Australian & New Zealand Tour Dates!

The announcement comes as the Charlotte, North Carolina band are in the midst of a North American tour, co-headlining Summer Slaughter Tour with a handful of headlining dates later this month.  Between The Buried And Me follow the U.S. dates with an extensive European tour, which begins on October 1st in Reading, UK. The first single from the release, "Telos," can be streamed below.

Between The Buried And Me have sold in excess of 400,000 records since their 2002 self-titled debut. BTBAM Release NEW Song "Telos" & Track Listing For "The Parallax II: Future Sequence"; Pre-orders Available Now!

Globally celebrated progressive Rock/cutting-edge Metal innovators Between the Buried and Me (BTBAM) recently announced that their NEW album, 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence', will be released via Metal Blade Records on October 9th, in North America, and October 5th/8th in Europe. As some fans are already aware via live bootlegs on youtube, the first single BTBAM is performing live and releasing is entitled "Telos". The song can be heard in its entirety now.

Also available on Metalblade.com/btbam are exclusive pre-order bundles, including a pre-order only t-shirt and a limited edition BTBAM spacesuit. Quantities on the deluxe bundles are limited, so order yours early.

'The Parallax II: Future Sequence' track listing:

1. Goodbye To Everything
2. Astral Body
3. Lay Your Ghosts to Rest
4. Autumn
5. Extremophile Elite
6. Parallax
7. The Black Box
8. Telos
9. Bloom
10. Melting City
11. Silent Flight Parliament
12. Goodbye to Everything Reprise

'The Parallax II: Future Sequence', which clocks in at approximately 72 minutes, features artwork from Charlotte, North Carolina artist and designer Chandler Owen (Underoath, Shai Hulud, and Hopesfall). The group - TOMMY ROGERS (vocals / keyboards), PAUL WAGGONER (guitar), DUSTIE WARING (guitar), BLAKE RICHARDSON (drums / percussion) DAN BRIGGS (bass) - are currently touring as direct support to Cannibal Corpse on The Summer Slaughter Tour 2012, which kicked off with a sold out show at the House of Blues in Hollywood on July 20th.

Regarding the concept of 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence', the NEW full-length album picks up where the 2011 EP, 'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues', left off. "The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn't be happier with how Future Sequence turned out," comments guitarist Paul Waggoner.

Vocalist and keyboardist Tommy Rogers adds his thoughts on the musical direction of 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence'. "This album is BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME on steroids. I feel like we have created an album that perfectly mirrors the band we've been trying to create since day one. An album that has sounds that will stimulate many genres and music fans alike. A conceptual journey that takes the listener to worlds that seem familiar and worlds that make you scratch your head. From start to finish this is music we want to create, not music we think people want us to create. We create songs that keep us (and hopefully you) excited about heavy music. Keep listening… something new will be there each time. Enjoy the music… we enjoyed writing it."

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME Release NEW Album Details: Album Artwork Revealed + Street Date Announced!

Globally celebrated progressive Rock / cutting-edge Metal innovators BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME (aka BTBAM) has announced the name of the upcoming full-length album as 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence'. The NEW album, which clocks in at approximately 72 minutes, will be released October 9 and features artwork from Charlotte, North Carolina artist and designer Chandler Owen (Underoath, Shai Hulud, and Hopesfall). The group - TOMMY ROGERS (vocals / keyboards), PAUL WAGGONER (guitar), DUSTIE WARING (guitar), BLAKE RICHARDSON (drums / percussion) DAN BRIGGS (bass) - are currently preparing for their direct support slot on the Summer Slaughter tour that kicks off in Los Angeles, CA at the House of Blues on Friday, July 20.

'The Parallax II: Future Sequence' was recorded at The Basement Studios in Winston-Salem, NC with longtime friend of the band and producer Jamie King. Jamie engineered, mixed and mastered 'The Parallax II: Future Sequence', which makes this the sixth release Jamie and BTBAM have worked together on.

Keep listening… something new will be there each time. Enjoy the music… we enjoyed writing it."

'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues' (released 4/12/11) is a three-song strong, 30-minute tour de force of modern Heavy Music. Produced and engineered by the Grammy award–winning David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, King Crimson, Dream Theater, etc.) with BTBAM, the record soared to #54 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in its first week of release while landing the #5 spot on the Hard Music chart, and #8 on the Independent Albums chart in its first week of release. 'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues' also debuted in Canada charting at #62 on the Top 200 Current chart, #6 on the Hard chart, and #14 on the Independent chart.

Catch BTBAM this summer as they tour the North America as a part of the Summer Slaughter tour featuring Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Job For A Cowboy, Goatwhore, Exhumed, and Cerebral Bore, with special guests TBA in each city.

Tommy Rogers From BTBAM Discusses 'Saints & Sinners' Tour & Upcoming Plans!

Raleigh, North Carolina, became a lot more fun at the turn of the century when Between The Buried And Me (A.K.A. BTBAM) surfaced into the musical spectrum. With 5 studio albums under their belt, and their NEW debut EP entitled 'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues', BTBAM is ready to make even more noise in 2012.

BTBAM, recently concluded their fall North American headlining "Saints & Sinners" tour in New York City. The tour was in support of their new EP titled 'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues'. The award winning band was accompanied by Animals as Leaders and TesseracT!

Before BTBAM took center stage, we had the chance to chat with their vocalist/keyboardist Tommy Rogers about the "Saints & Sinners" tour, the bands NEW EP 'The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues', and their upcoming plans for 2012. The interview also includes a holiday message from Tommy to all the BTBAM fans. Peel your eyes open, listen carefully, and spread the BTBAM word!
