"Hi Everybody,
"This past October, one of my closest friends (I am his daughter's Godfather) had a tragic accident at work and fell down an elevator shaft.
"This accident has left him permanently paralyzed from the chest down and he will likely now be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
"This tragic and unexpected turn of events has permanently changed not only his life, but all of his family and friends around him.
"For us all to adapt to such a life changing incident is something that will take time, patience and love.
"It breaks my heart to see him and his family suffer and the reality is that it is leaving him in a situation where he can no longer provide for his family financially.
"My first instinct was to wonder "what can I do to help?"
"Although nothing I can do will ever get him up and walking again, I wanted to at least do SOMETHING to try and raise some monetary help for him and his family in this horrible time of need and transition.
"So I decided to gather some signatures on one of my cymbals from some of my friends in the business who all immediately volunteered to help for the cause.
