Metal Masters IV Interview: Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG), Gary Holt (SLAYER/EXODUS) & Frank Bello (ANTHRAX)!

On Friday, September 7, Heavy Metal history was written when the METAL MASTERS - Philip Anselmo, Kerry King, Dave Lombardo, Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Charlie Benante, Billy Sheehan and Gary Holt - performed together at the fourth installment of Samson's "Metal Master" series, which was held at the Gramercy Theatre on the famed island of Manhattan in New York City.

Prior to this historic event, we had the pleasure of interviewing Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big), Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), and Frank Bello (Anthrax). During this conversation we discussed the importance of a massive event like the Metal Masters for the entire Heavy Music scene.

NOTE: Due to technical difficulties, the following interview contains captions in order for you to be able to follow the interview. Thanks for your understanding!

MTV Responds To Allegations That 'Headbangers Ball' Is Being Cancelled - Statement Available!

As previously reported, Jose Mangin (Sirius XM) exclusively told us that the folks behind MTV2.com are shutting down Headbangers Ball for good. In response, MTV released the following statement to SPIN:

"MTV is committed to the 'Headbangers Ball' franchise and can confirm that it will continue as an online destination with its hub remaining on MTV2.com. The company's deal with Jose Mangin has concluded. However, MTV will continue to program a weekly playlist for fans of the genre."

Our guess is that they will have music video playlists on their online platform. Isn't that what YouTube is for?

Thankfully, Jose has announced the formation of Hard Attack TV! Hard Attack TV will take Jose's vision to a whole new level of confidence and power! While it will pick up from where HIS Headbangers Ball was left off, Hard Attack TV will offer viewers all over the world a variety of super fresh programming. What type of programming? Well, here is an exclusive interview we conducted with Jose at the recent PHILM show at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey, where Jose spills it all out. Check it out and spread the word!

Pantera's 'A New Level' - Phil Anselmo, Kerry King, Scott Ian, Dave Ellefson, Mike Portnoy, Charlie Benante & Frankie Bello!

Last night Heavy Metal history was written at the Metal Masters Clinic 2 at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, New York City. Not only did the clinic feature members of Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, but the all star jam was followed by a "surprise" performance by Anthrax, who is celebrating the release of their new album entitled "Worship Music" today.

Before the culmination of the Metal Masters Clinic 2, Philip Anselmo from Pantera and Down took center stage and performed Pantera's classic song 'A New Level'!
