According to ITV.com, BARONESS was involved in a serious accident while driving between shows as they tour the U.K in support of their NEW album 'Yellow & Green' (available now via Relapse Records). The band played at The Fleece in Bristol on the night of August 14th. They were on their way to Southampton when the accident happened.
The accident happened at
around 11:30 AM local time at the junction of
Brassknocker Hill and the A36 in Bath. The band's tour bus crashed and
fell 30 feet over a viaduct!
Seven people were taken to the Royal
United Hospital in Bath, while two others — who were trapped and had to
be rescued by firefighters — have been transported to Frenchay
Hospital in Bristol. "Those people are now being treated by ambulance
staff," a fire service spokesman told BBC News.
A
Great Western Ambulance Service spokesman said, "Our staff assessed all
occupants and provided any required treatment before and while en route
to hospital."
Inspector Nick Hunt, from Avon and Somerset
Police, added: "Police are investigating the circumstances of the
accident. At this stage it is too early to tell what the cause was."
