AC/DC just announced their very first U.S. concert of 2015 in support of their NEW album entitled Rock Or Bust (available now via Columbia Records)!

The legendary Australian Rock N' Roll band will be headlining the Friday concerts of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Coachella, which is scheduled to take place from April 10 - 12 and April 17 - 19 in Indio, California. AC/DC will be performing on Friday, April 10th and Friday April 17th. Unfortunately, Rock or Bust is the first AC/DC album in the band’s 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young. Last year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm is no longer in the band. With that said, Stevie Young (nephew of Malcolm and Angus) is filling in for his ill uncle both on record and on stage.

Dropkick Murphys Singer Fights Skinhead Doing Nazi Salute On Stage!

This past weekend, DROPKICK MURPHYS performed a very special Saint Patrick's Day concert at Terminal 5 in New York City. During their set the band invited tons of fans to join them on stage and jam with them.

One of those fans was a skinhead who decided to do the Nazi salute while was performing a cover of "T.N.T." by AC/DC. As a result, the bands singer Ken Casey noticed this and ran right over to the guy, smashed him in the face, took off his bass and hit him with that and then jumped on him and all out chaos ensued. Here is video of the incident:

In other DROPKICK MURPHYS news, the band has announced a U.S. tour that will last three whole months and will include performances at Coachella, Sasquatch!, and Kanrocksas.

Listen To ANTHRAX's Cover Of AC/DC's "TNT"!

Anthems', Anthrax's long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of Anthrax's favorite bands from the 1970s, will be released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast). The track listing for 'Anthems' features Rush's "Anthem," Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak," "TNT" by AC/DC, Boston's "Smokin'," "Big Eyes" by Cheap Trick, Journey's "Keep on Runnin," as well as the album version and a special remix of Anthrax's "Crawl" from the band's critically-acclaimed 2011 album 'Worship Music'.

Right now, you can crank Anthrax's cover of AC/DC's song "TNT": http://loudwire.com/anthrax-cover-acdc-t-n-t-exclusive-song-premiere/

The EP will be available on CD as well as digitally via iTunes and other online retailers. In addition to the cover art for 'Anthems', Benante and artist Stephen Thompson have subtly redesigned each track's original album cover art to "Anthrax" it. The 'Anthems' EP will first be housed in one of the "re-imagined" digipak covers, and then inserted inside the main CD cover sleeve. The main cover sleeve has been designed in such a way so fans will be able to see which one of the six "re-imagined" covers is inside.

'Anthems' was produced by Anthrax, Jay Ruston and the bands former guitarist Rob Caggiano, and recorded for the most part throughout 2012 literally all over the world: at Benante's home studio, in Ruston's New York studio, on the band's tour bus while on last summer's Mayhem Tour, in hotel rooms, and backstage at their Berlin show last December.

The Grammy-nominated Anthrax - Belladonna/vocals, Benante/drums, Scott Ian/guitar and Frank Bello/bass - will hit the road in support 'Anthems' on February 16 with dates in India and Australia, and then return to North America to headline the Metal Alliance Tour that kicks off March 22 in California. For all of these dates, Anthrax will be joined by Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais.

Once again, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante is sitting out during his bands live performances. It has been confirmed that Benante did not travel with the band due to personal issues, Jon Dette (former SLAYER drummer) is replacing Benante during ANTHRAX's Australian tour. "Charlie is dealing with personal issues right now and can't leave the country", commented Scott Ian. "He's really bummed about not being able to head down there."

Additionally, the band will not be performing with guitarist Rob Caggiano, who left the band to join VOLBEAT (More info HERE)! He was temporarily replaced by Jon Donais from SHADOWS FALL.

Benante is expected to be back with ANTHRAX during this year's Metal Alliance tour, which they will be headlining (tour dates below).

AC/DC: Brian Johnson Celebrates His 65th Birthday!

Today, AC/DC's Brian Johnson is celebrating his 65th birthday! Johnson was born in Dunston, Gateshead, England, on October 5, 1947. But don't call him old, as we all know Johnson is still one of the most ENERGETIC and badass singers in all of Heavy Music! Johnson has been the main singer and lyricist for Rock N' Roll legends AC/DC since 1980, following the untimely death of Bon Scott. While this was no easy task, Johnson has proven time and time again that he was the perfect choice for AC/DC. Johnson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, along with the other members of the band.

AC/DC lead guitarist and co-founder Angus Young later recalled, "I remember Bon playing me Little Richard, and then telling me the story of when he saw Brian singing." He says about that night, "There's this guy up there screaming at the top of his lungs and then the next thing you know he hits the deck. He's on the floor, rolling around and screaming. I thought it was great, and then to top it off—you couldn't get a better encore—they came in and wheeled the guy off!'" Johnson was diagnosed with appendicitis later that night, which was the cause of his writhing around on stage. The band agreed immediately that Johnson's performing style fit AC/DC's music. Johnson's first album with AC/DC, 'Back in Black', became the second best-selling album of ALL time (the album has sold over 50,000,000 copies).

So raise your glass (or fist) in the air, crank your volume and lets salute Mr. Brian Johnson on his birthday! \m/

VOTE Now For The Top 15 Songs Of VH1 Classic's "America's Hard 100 Countdown"!

Just under two weeks ago, VH1 Classic began releasing a series of viewer polls that would ultimately determine what songs would separate themselves from the pack in America’s Hard 100. Over one million (!!!) votes were cast by you, THE FANS, to determine which songs deserved to be at the top of our list of the best Hard Rock and Heavy Metal songs of all-time. Wait a minute! Just over one million votes?! Totally kidding!

Now they have sorted through all of the votes, analyzed the numbers, and now they need your help again in determining the FINAL RANKINGS of America’s Hard 100.

They have come up with a list of 15 songs, 10 of which won their respective polls — a healthy round of applause for:

- Dream Theater‘s “Pull Me Under”
- Type O Negative‘s “Black No. 1”
- Bon Jovi‘s “Living On A Prayer”
- Cinderella‘s “Gypsy Road”
- Dio‘s “Holy Diver”
- Rush‘s “Limelight”
- Poison‘s “Nothin’ But A Good Time”
- Guns N’ Roses‘ “November Rain”
- Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads’ “Crazy Train”
- Black Sabbath‘s “Paranoid”

Here are 5 songs which they are deeming wildcards. Each of these wildcard songs reaped more votes than all the other non-poll winning songs, and might have won their respective polls had they been placed among a different group of songs:

- AC/DC‘s “Back In Black”
- Accept‘s “Balls To The Wall”
- Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City”
- Megadeth‘s “Sweating Bullets”
- Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me”

So, with that said, this are the final 15 songs. The same rules apply this time around; vote early and often for as many of these 15 as you think are deserving, and you can always click Return To Poll to vote again. The polls will close on Tuesday, October 2 at 4 PM ET, and you’ll be able to tune in to watch America’s Hard 100 on VH1 Classic in November to see the final results.

Virus Forces Iran's Nuclear Program Computers To Blast AC/DC's "Thunderstruck"

Recently, cyber attackers launched a virus that hacked computer systems in Iran and forced them to blast AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”.

News of the attack came from Mikko Hypponen, a researcher at Finnish computer security firm F-Secure. Here is what Hypponen wrote on his blog:

"I am writing you to inform you that our nuclear program has once again been compromised and attacked by a new worm with exploits which have shut down our automation network at Natanz and another facility Fordo near Qom.

"According to the email our cyber experts sent to our teams, they believe a hacker tool Metasploit was used. The hackers had access to our VPN. The automation network and Siemens hardware were attacked and shut down. I only know very little about these cyber issues as I am scientist not a computer expert.

"There was also some music playing randomly on several of the workstations during the middle of the night with the volume maxed out. I believe it was playing 'Thunderstruck' by AC/DC.

"I'm not sure what to think about this. We can't confirm any of the details. However, we can confirm that the researcher was sending and receiving emails from within the AEOI."

Mastering Engineer George Marino Passes Away From Lung Cancer - Rock In Peace!

Do you still own CD's, Tapes or Vinyl? Well, if you look at some the liner notes of your favorite albums, it is very likely that you will find George Marino credited as Mastering Engineer. Marino, who mastered hundreds of albums in a career of nearly 40 years at New York’s Sterling Sound (one of the top post-production studios in the world), passed away today. Marino died following a year-long bout with lung cancer. Our condolences go out to Marino's family, friends and colleagues over at Sterling Sound.

“Today Sterling Sound and the music industry as a whole has suffered a tremendous loss,” Sterling Sound issued via statement. “Senior Mastering Engineer George Marino lost his battle with cancer this morning. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel. George was family to us all and we will miss him dearly.”

Here are some of the albums that Marino mastered:

- Metallica‘s ‘Black Album’
- Stevie Wonder’s ‘Innervisions’
- AC/DC‘s ‘Back In Black’
- Guns N’ Roses' ‘Appetite for Destruction’
- Bon Jovi’s ‘Slippery When Wet’
- Journey‘s ‘Frontiers’
- Mötley Crüe‘s ‘Dr. Feelgood’
- Kansas' ‘Point of Know Return’

Mastering, a form of audio post-production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master); the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Recently, the format choice includes using digital masters although analog masters, such as audio tapes, are still being used by the manufacturing industry and by a few engineers who have chosen to specialize in analog mastering.

Marino joined Sterling Sound in 1973 after a few years at the Record Plant. He began his career in 1967 as a librarian and assistant at Capitol Studios before moving on to the mastering department. He won three Grammy awards, most recently in 2011 for Arcade Fire‘s ‘The Suburbs,’ which won Album of the Year. Rock In Peace Mr. Marino!

Australia's DROP TANK Offers Listeners A NEW Musical Vision - Find Out Why!

Drop Tank is an Australian band that is fired up with high energy songs that are born out of instrumental jams in the mad, dilapidated world of the crumbling building were the bands headquarters are located. Their songs offer the listener and organic experience, in which there is no second guessing on how the band  is suppose to sound. According to Zebidy Tank, the main songwriter: "I think this keeps us sounding more connected to the initial frantic energy that spawns when we get in the rehearsal room".

We recently had the chance to chat with Zebidy about her musical vision behind Drop Tank, a band that the music world better keep their eyes set on.

Horns Up Rocks: First of all, tell us about the formation of Drop Tank? Take us into a time-line from the day the band was formed, until present time.

Zebidy Tank: "Drop Tank is a heavy Rock N' Roll band from Sydney, Australia, fronted by me (Zebidy Tank). I formed Drop Tank in late 2008 and pieced together a band in the warehouse district of Marrickville, where the warehouse's noise zoning code could double as a Rock band friendly zone, and a living space. I sing and play guitar in the band… to date we have released 3 EPs."

HUR: How did growing up in Australia influence the band as a whole?

ZT: "Well Australia is fairly isolated compared to the rest of the world so we are usually left up to our own devices. This definitely had an influence on the music… perhaps its more raw or rough sounding like the wilderness here."

HUR: What do you think sets apart your EP 'Domina'?

ZT: "The vocals and the speed of the songs. It is not trying to consciously sound like anyone else or trying to fit in to what is trendy or relevant "now". Really, the guitar writes the songs and with us usually over thought ideas are not good ideas. We like to add a good chunk of guitar solos too."

HUR: Tell us about the production process of your NEW EP.

ZT: "'Domina" is a collection of recordings from our warehouse days. The process was pretty standard: drums first, guitars, bass and then vocal tracking… then mixing and mastering. I did vocals in my bedroom with a mattress over the window as it worked as it was more relaxing and this help me capture a better delivery and vibe."

HUR: Which artists influenced the overall sound of Drop Tank?

ZT: "The heavy Rock spectrum from Pop Rock to Metal. Also 70s Rock, 80s Metal and 90's Punk. We like bands like AC/DC, Motörhead, Slayer… anything fast and fun. I also adore the Melvins, Fantomas etc. Oh, and Rampage! A Thrash Metal band from Australia is one of my favorite bands, because they know how to make Heavy Music fun."

HUR: Any touring plans?

ZT: "Hopefully this summer."

HUR:What message do you have for the present and future fans of Drop Tank?

ZT: "Support you local live music scene!"

32 Years Since Heavy Music Lost AC/DC's Bon Scott!

32 years ago, the Heavy Music world lost the late great Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott. Scott was born on July 9, 1946 in Forfar, Scotland and died on February 19, 1980 in London, England, after a night of heavy drinking.

Scott will always be remembered for being the lead singer and lyricist of Australian Hard Rock band AC/DC. His tenure with AC/DC went from 1974 until his death in 1980. He moved to Melbourne, Australia with his family in 1952 at the age of six. His first band was The Spektors, he also performed with The Valentines and Fraternity before replacing Dave Evans as the lead singer of AC/DC in 1974.

Here are some facts about the late great Bon Scott:

- Scott's vocals were inspired by his idol, Little Richard.

- After working as a postman, bartender and truck packer, Scott started his first band, The Spektors, in 1964 as drummer and occasional lead singer.

- In 2004, Classic Rock Magazine rated as number one in a list of the "100 Greatest Frontmen Of All Time" ahead of Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant.

- When Bon Scott died after a night out in London. AC/DC briefly considered disbanding, but the group quickly recruited vocalist Brian Johnson of the British glam rock band Geordie.

AC/DC's Brian Johnson Forced To Cancel Solo Tour Due To Surgery!

AC/DC's Brian Johnson has just announced that he will undergo wrist surgery in February of 2012. As a result, the solo tour he had scheduled in order to promote his recently released book, "Rockers and Rollers: A Full-Throttle Memory Memoir", has been canceled. Johnson was to be joined on stage by his two good friends from Skid Row, Rachel Bolan (bass) and Scotti Hill (guitar).

The following dates have all been CANCELED:

- Feb. 07: Knoxville, TN @ Bijou Theatre
- Feb. 08: Atlanta. GA @ Center Stage Theatre
- Feb. 10: Raleigh, NC @ Lincoln Theatre
- Feb. 11: Richmond, VA @ The National
- Feb. 13: Glenside, PA @ Keswick Theatre
- Feb. 15: Millvale, PA @ Small’s Funhouse
- Feb. 16: Covington, KY @ Small's Funhouse
- Feb. 18: Indianapolis, IN @ Egyptian Room at ONC
- Feb. 21: Madison, WI @ Overture Center
- Feb. 22: Milwaukee, WI @ Pabst Theater

Recently, Christian leaders bashed Johnson after he said that religion is "a waste of time. I don't believe in religion, let's put it that way. I believe all religions are bad. I think they're a waste of time. Jesus was a clever man. He wasn't the son of God. We all know that he was a very clever, wonderful man and he said, 'Church is in here, meaning you are your own church.'"

In other news, AC/DC will most likely hit the road in 2013 to celebrate their 40th anniversary! According to Johnson, the band is meeting soon to discuss an anniversary tour and album. Be excited!
