LACUNA COIL's Andrea Ferro: Life On The Road, NEW Album, AC MILAN & Marriage As A Touring Musician!

On April 17th, Italy's LACUNA COIL arrived at the Best Buy Theater in New York City to warm hundreds of ear buds for both SEVENDUST and COAL CHAMBER. Also on the bill were the great folks from STOLEN BABIES. While warming up a crowd is never easy, LC makes it look easy. For all of us who have seen them perform live, we know they take their job very seriously and this is evident from the moment they step on stage. Even though they were forced to perform without their bassist
Marco Coti Zelati who has tendonitis, they got the job done!

Prior to his bands performance Andrea Ferro (the male voice of LACUNA COIL and the founder of the band) met with us backstage to chat about all things LC. During the interview, we talked about the band extensive three month tour and how he manages to keep his marriage healthy while on the road. We also talked about the dynamic between him and Cristina Scabbia (the bands female voice), and how this has on effect on the bands signature sound. He also offered us an update regarding the future of the band and of course we talked about Italian soccer! Without further due, here is our in-depth interview with Andrea Ferro.

Lets Celebrate All Women In Heavy Music Today, It Is International Women's Day!

Today is International Women's Day! So lets all salute all the women of the world. Specially, the ladies who make the Heavy Music scene a lot SEXIER (see above)! \m/

About International Women's Day:

International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is marked on March 8 every year. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, primarily Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet bloc. In many regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. In other regions, however, the original political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN Confirm Concert In Italy With LACUNA COIL!

SYSTEM OF A DOWN have confirmed via Twitter, that they will be back in Italy to re-embrace their fans with a show that will be held on August 27 at the Fiera Milano Rho Live. The concert will be re living the history that made famous the band guided by the charismatic Serj Tankian
Special guest: LACUNA COIL and another band that we will reveal soon.
Mark this event , you can't miss it!

For info and tickets: http://www.livenation.it/event/385008/system-of-a-down-tickets?c=FB_WP_systemofadown_150113

What about some NEW music? Last year, Musik Universe chatted with SYSTEM OF A DOWN's front man Serj Tankian about the bands future plans

About writing NEW music:

The band has made it clear in recent interviews that no plans have yet been made for the group to begin work on a NEW studio album.

Future releases:

"I think we have about four or five unreleased tracks that we finished before. We need to talk about what to do with them, etc. But I would be very open to releasing, like, a greatest-hits record with a few [previously] unreleased tracks. However, we haven't really discussed it, so I don't wanna make a promise."

Solo project vs SYSTEM OF A DOWN:

"It's an interesting dynamic, I think, writing by yourself and writing with people. When you have a very focused idea, a very concrete kind of understanding of what you wanna present and have the skills and the ability to completely present it the exact way that you want to, it's much more conducive to do it yourself. If you have ideas that require other people's input to kind of make it something else than what you have, then a collaboration — whether it's with SYSTEM or anyone else for that matter — would be much smarter."

Cristina Scabbia Clears The Water Regarding Bands Lineup After NEW Video Awakens Rumors

Yesterday, Italy's LACUNA COIL unleashed a brand NEW music video for their song "End Of Time" (watch it HERE). The song is taken from the bands latest album 'Dark Adrenaline'. Following the release of the video started a rumor that the band is having internal problems. The rumor was awaken after the fans realized that "End Of Time" only features vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro. Here is what Scabbia had to say about this rumor:

"It seems for some of you guys it's SO strange that we did one video with Andi and myself only...which I find it interesting, considering so many videos in the world where only the singers are involved (for time, space, storyboard, budget... millions of reasons you'll never know).

"Just want to reassure you everyone else in LC is still in the band and the 6 of us can be detached from each other sometimes :)))))"

Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia Discusses Gigantour, NEW Album 'Dark Adrenaline' & More!

This past weekend, the 2012 version of Gigantour took over The Theater at Madison Square Garden! This time around Dave Mustaine from Megadeth, who is the creator of Gigantour, brought with him Motörhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil! The sold out show, which welcomed over 6,000 headbangers, had a lot of ups and downs! While the bands all performed their very best, the volume for all four bands was too low for such a big show. As a result, many concertgoers felt ripped off! We can't blame them! Heavy Music is meant to be loud and proud.

Some of the highlights of the night included: Mikkey Dee's drum solo, Lemmy's crowd control, and Cristina Scabbia's guest appearance during Megadeth's "A Tout Le Monde"!

Prior to show, we had the chance to chat with Lacuna Coil's own Cristina Scabbia. During the conversation, we chatted with her about the bands involvement in these years Gigantour. We also discussed the bands NEW album 'Dark Adrenaline', and she even offered a handful of helpful tips for fellow artists. Check out yet another exclusive interview, brought to you by Horns Up Rocks!
