DEATH ANGEL: Ready To Start Recording Their Next Sonic Assault!

Oh yes! DEATH ANGEL will enter AudioHammer Studios next month to begin recording the follow up to their 2010 release, 'Relentless Retribution'. Guitarist Rob Cavestany recently checked in to give the following update:

"After nearly 3 years of nonstop touring for 'Relentless Retribution', we are about to enter the studio to record our seventh album! We are playing the final show of the "Relentless Retribution Tour" on March 31 in Holland, fly home for a few days of final pre-production rehearsals in Oakland, then begin tracking in Florida on April 8.

"Relentless turned out the way we wanted so we we're taking it to the next level with the same team. The NEW album will be done at AudioHammer Studios with Jason Suecof and I producing. We had a blast doing the last record there and now we know each other better and how well we work together... plus the album cover art is being done by Brent Elliot White who did 'Relentless Retribution'. Let's just say we have a good feeling about this one.

"It was our idea all along to go directly into the studio following the end of this tour, without taking time off. We always take a break after an album's touring cycle ends. You basically have to after spending so much time on the road, traveling and performing constantly. But not this time! This tour is the longest one we've ever done and that live energy is in our new songs! The glory and the heartache, it's all there.

"That said, all the music has been written - much of it on tour buses during the past couple of years, the rest of it in the studio over the past few months. This is some of the heaviest, fastest, most powerful material we've ever created! There's something really dark in it too...  music is and always will be our outlet to vent and release the built up pressure that life deals.  In the world today we need it more than ever!!!

"Currently the NEW record is slated for release in October 2013.  Of course a massive tour will follow!  It's our mission to deliver, we ain't fuckin’ around! Thank you all for your support! Big Hug!"

So there you have it folks, DEATH ANGEL are bringing all of us yet another killer batch of music! Stay tuned as more updates become available.

Zulie's 12 Pieces Of Eye Candy For 2012 - Image Gallery Available!

In 2012, Horns Up Rocks' Zulie Alvarez entered plenty of photo pits throughout the tri-state area and captured a lot of very memorable moments. Before we share with you "Zulie's 12 Pieces Of Eye Candy For 2012", let us tell you about the wonderful Zulie.

ANTHRAX, TESTAMENT & DEATH ANGEL Are Coming For Canada!

Fans in Canada and select cities in the northern part of the U.S. will finally have a chance to see what reviewers have called "The Best Metal Tour of the Year," when co-headliners Anthrax and Testament, joined by Death Angel, kick off a late-summer trek on September 14. Starting in Portland, OR, the bands will work their way north, cross into Canada, and play all of the major Canadian cities before wrapping up in Montclair, NJ on October 5.  Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 1.

This run will be the third leg of the Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel hat-trick; the three bands packed five weeks worth of venues coast-to-coast last Fall, marking the first time Anthrax and Testament had shared a stage in more than a decade; again, earlier this year, the line-up played another dozen dates to headbangers in cities from Las Vegas to New York.

According to Anthrax's guitarist Scott Ian, "We played to sold-out shows, raging crowds and EPIC war dances, and we can't wait to do it again, especially for our Canadian fans who have been waiting a long to time 'worship music' with us."

"There have been very few three band bills in which the acts are so compatible and the shows so consistent that a second leg of the tour is a "no-brainer," said Testament's lead guitarist Alex Skolnick. "But in the case of Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel, that's been the case. Things have gone so well, in fact, that it's made sense to add a third leg with this exact same line up.  All three bands are excited to take this show into new territory with a trek across Canada, and a few spots in the US we missed last time around. And this time, Testament will be armed with a brand new album with music that we're eager to share with everyone. Hope to see you out there!"

"We've been tight with the guys in Testament for a long, long time, and had a great time touring with them before," added Anthrax's drummer Charlie Benante.  "And all of us in Anthrax are big Death Angel fans, so this is going to be a monster of a great time, for us and for the fans."

Said Testament's frontman Chuck Billy, "It's good to see that metal is alive in 2012 and the fans want a third leg of the Anthrax, Testament, Death Angel tour. Don't fucking miss it!  Metal Forever!"
