One week from today, America’s only Hard Rock and Heavy Metal award show will be taking over downtown Los Angeles! The fifth annual REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARD SHOW presented by Epiphone® will take place Thursday, May 2nd at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles. Once again, the event will be broadcast live in its entirety on Xbox LIVE, as well as on the Xbox and Revolver Facebook pages. Additionally, AXSTV will be broadcasting the entire event!
May 2 will also be declared “Golden Gods Day” in the City of Los Angeles, with Councilwoman Jan Perry opening the show with an official proclamation.
In case you missed this, Danzig will take the stage at this year’s show with fellow Misfit legend Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein for a very special live Misfits set. The highly anticipated performance joins previously announced live sets by Metallica, Five Finger Death Punch, Anthrax, Stone Sour, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Halestorm. As always, the 2013 REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS SHOW will feature one-of-a-kind surprise collaborations that honor the past, present and future of heavy music.

The fifth edition of the REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARD SHOW (presented
by Epiphone) has gotten even bigger and better. It has just been announced that Danzig will be performing at the event! And get this: his set will included a special Misfits set with Doyle.
Taking place Thursday, May 2 at Club Nokia in Downtown Los
Angeles, the sold-out event will be broadcast live on national
television for the first time through AXS TV and broadcast in the United
States and key international markets through Xbox LIVE®* and Revolver’s Facebook page. In addition, May 2 will be declared “Golden Gods Day”

The 2013 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM line up and tour dates have been released! The headbanging kicks off on June 29th in San Bernardino, California and includes a return to Toronto, Canada and the first time the tour rolls through Bangor, Maine and Austin, Texas.
In celebration of the events sixth anniversary, the organizers decided to host a free for all press conference/concert at the Whiskey A Go Go right in the heart of the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, California. The event took place this past Monday, March 18, and served as the platform for the lineup to be announced. The 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival lineup
this year features Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon and
Amon Amarth on the main stage. The Festival area will showcase Machine Head, Children Of Bodom, Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy, Emmure, Born Of Osiris, Motionless In White, Butcher Babies, Battlecross, Huntress, Thrown Into Exile and City In The Sea.
This year's tour will, for the first time, feature four stages - The Rockstar Energy Drink Main Stage, The Jagermeister Stage, Musicians Institute Stage and the Sumerian/Headbang For The Highway Concourse Stage which will feature local bands performing and announced in June.

Once again, ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL producers John Reese and Kevin Lyman are bringing North America the biggest Heavy Music event of the summer. The 2013 Mayhem Dates have been released! The headbanging kicks off on June 29th in San Bernardino, California and includes a return to Toronto, Canada and the first time the tour rolls through Bangor, Maine and Austin, Texas.
Fans are invited to the OFFICIAL press conference on Monday, March 18th at 4pm PST at the official press conference (see the flyer for details). Tickets will then be going on sale starting Friday March 22nd at 12 noon PST.

The biggest Heavy Music awards show in all of the America's will be hosted byFozzy frontman and WWE pro-wrestling legend Chris Jericho. The nominees in 11 different fan-voted categories, plus the recipients of this year’s prestigious “Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award” (presented by Ernie Ball), “Golden God Award” (presented by Sumerian Records) and “Riff Lord” (presented by EMG Pickups), were revealed at a press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood in Los Angeles. THE Motörheadphones have arrived! The loudest band in the world, unveiled their NEW "cans" this past Tuesday (January 8) at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. The bands god, Lemmy Kilmister, was present at a press conference (watch it below). Here is the official description of the Motörheadphones written by the band: "We all love the deep, low, warm feeling of that body-shuddering sound called 'bass'. It rumbles through your chest like a juggernaut, feeling like it's coming from within instead of a speaker off in the distance. Unfortunately most headphone makers (in a desperate hunt to achieve that warm low end) end up sacrificing the presence and dynamics in the mid and high end areas of the sound spectrum. The result is no warm low end body-shuddering bass experience. "And you lose the guitar sound, because in this misguided attempt to achieve the warm low end, the low/mid range is also lost. A double negative really. One which we weren't prepared to engage in. "When we at Motörheadphönes developed our headphones, we immediately went to the very top of the professional headphone range as a bench mark. Why wouldn't we? We want to make the best, so we refer to the best of the best. "Another thing we realized, was that most of the music we listen to today, is guitar-based rock and pop. There was nothing which allowed for the heavy rock experience, nothing which could accommodate the crushing power of loud rock'n'roll. "Obviously somebody needed to do something, and that somebody was the iconic Motörhead, the genuine road warriors for the last three decades. This is why we can now, after hard work and collaboration, proudly present Motörheadphönes, by rockers for rockers." As previously reported, MOTÖRHEAD have announced that they will be
entering the studio this January with longtime producer Cameron Webb to
begin recording their next studio album for a mid-2013 release. "We'll
go into the rehearsal room about a month before the album and just bang
stuff out," MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister tells Billboard.com.
Serj Tankian from SYSTEM OF A DOWN never lets his musical creativity rest. His latest musical project 'Harakiri' (his third solo album) was released on July 10th via Reprise Records/Serjical Strike. "Harakiri", sold nearly 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 29 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Complete with several U.S. Military vehicles as well as armed and uniformed troops, the Metal Hammer Trespass America Festival was announced yesterday at The Key Club on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. The Key Club became a military detention camp, all guests received an ID bracelet and had to pass through a caged security check before entering.
Members from several of the Trespass America support line-up - Kyle "Gumby" Gunther from Battlecross, Emmure's Frankie Palmeri and Mark Castillo, Matt Heafy from Trivium, and recently rejoined Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach - all handcuffed and hooded - were marched out onto the stage at the press conference with a military escort. Press conference attendees were then able to view the arrival of headliners Five Finger Death Punch on the club's in-house movie screen; a military convoy transported 5FDP - also handcuffed and hooded - up the Sunset Strip to The Key Club 'detention camp.' Upon arrival, ten U.S Military troops escorted the band through the crowd and onto the stage. Metal Hammer's editor, Alexander Milas, announced the tour and the lineup as the prisoners-cum-musicians were cut out of their handcuffs by the soldiers and pulled of their hoods for the reveal.
The 31-date Metal Hammer Trespass America Festival will kick off July 13 in Broomfield, CO and end in Los Angeles on August 28.

A 30-second commercial for MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil's NEW strip club, "Girls, Girls, Girls", can be seen below. In a recent interview with Sally Steele of Vegas Rocks! magazine, Neil stated about why he decided to open his own strip club, "I've been going to strip clubs my whole adult life, I think. With the song 'Girls Girls Girls', we got inducted in 2007 into the Stripper Fall Of Fame. So it was just something that has been coming for a long time."
He added, "I love NEW businesses. It's just another cool thing, and I think it's great for Las Vegas. It's something different in a city that has everything... I literally live, like, five minutes from [the club]. So I'm gonna be here a lot when I'm in town and come here and hang out. It's a great place to hang."
Neil has set Friday, April 13, as the official grand opening of "Girls, Girls, Girls". The club will occupy the former Déjà Vu location opposite the Orleans off Tropicana Avenue a mile from the Las Vegas Strip.

Last Thursday, February 9th, Ozzy's wife and manager Sharon Osbourne made the a statement regarding the Bill Ward situation with Black Sabbath. When asked if Ozzy, Geezer Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi have found a replacement for the band's original drummer, Bill Ward, she replied, "You know, I don't know. I honestly, honestly don't know. It's all up in the air. The one thing that is for sure is that SABBATH are in the studio with [producer] Rick Rubin and they are going on tour. That's all I know. And Tony is doing brilliantly well."
According to many sources, Bill's replacement would be Tommy Clufetos from the Ozzy Osbourne band. Stay tuned for more information!

"At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the BLACK SABBATH album and tour," stated Ward. "However, I am unable to continue unless a 'signable' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band."
To this the remaining members of BLACK SABBATH replied:
"We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current BLACK SABBATH plans... We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the U.K. with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!"
Today, Sharon Osbourne twitted the following statement:
"I am not in any position to hire or fire anyone in Black Sabbath. I don't manage the band, I manage my husband (Ozzy Osbourne)."

Last week, drummer Bill Ward made a statement regarding the status of the reunion of Heavy Metal legends Black Sabbath: "At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the BLACK SABBATH album and tour," stated Ward. "However, I am unable to continue unless a 'signable' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band."
The remaining members of Black Sabbath (Ozzy, Osbourne, Tony Iommy & Geezer Butler) have announced that they will continue recording the NEW album without Bill Ward. In other words, as of right now, there wont be a proper Black Sabbath reunion. This is a huge punch in the stomach to all the fans that want to see the return of Black Sabbath's classic lineup! Here is their statement:

It seems like the drama behind the BLACK SABBATH camp never stops. In an unprecedented move, legendary drummer Bill Ward has made it very clear that he will not be able to partake in the recording session for the NEW SABBATH album and any any subsequent touring, unless he is given a "fair agreement". Here is his official statement regarding this matter:
"Dear SABBATH fans, fellow musicians and interested parties,
"At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the BLACK SABBATH album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a 'signable' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band.
"Last year, I worked diligently in good faith with [fellow original SABBATH members] Tony [Iommi, guitar], Ozzy [Osbourne, vocals] and Geezer [Butler, bass]. And on [November 11, 2011], again in good faith, I participated in the L.A. press conference.
"Several days ago, after nearly a year of trying to negotiate, another 'unsignable' contract was handed to me.
"Let me say that although this has put me in some kind of holding pattern, I am packed and ready to leave the U.S. for England. More importantly, I definitely want to play on the album, and I definitely want to tour with BLACK SABBATH.
"Since the news of Tony's illness, and the understanding that the band would move production to the U.K., I've spent every day getting to or living in a place of readiness to leave. That involves something of a task, and as I've tried to find out what's going on with the U.K. sessions, I've realized that I've been getting 'the cold shoulder' (and, I might add, not for the first time). Feeling somewhat ostracized, my guess is as of today, I will know nothing of what's happening unless I sign 'the unsignable contract.'
"The place I'm in feels lousy and lonely because as much as I want to play and participate, I also have to stand for something and not sign on. If I sign 'as is,' I stand to lose my rights, dignity and respectability as a Rock musician.
"I believe in freedom and freedom of speech.
"I grew up in a hard Rock/Metal band. We stood for something then, and we played from the heart with honesty and sincerity. I am in the spirit of integrity, far from the corporate malady, I am real and honest, fair and compassionate.
"If I'm replaced, I have to face you, the beloved SABBATH fans. I hope you will not hold me responsible for the failure of an original BLACK SABBATH lineup as promoted. Without fault finding, I want to assure everyone that my loyalty to SABBATH is intact.
"So here I am. I lay my truth down before you. I'm good to go IF I get a 'signable' contract.
"I don't want to let anyone down, especially BLACK SABBATH and all the SABBATH fans. You know I love you. It would be a sad day in rock if this current situation fell to the desires of a few.
"My position is not greed-driven. I'm not holding out for a 'big piece' of the action (money) like some kind of blackmail deal. I’d like something that recognizes and is reflective of my contributions to the band, including the reunions that started fourteen years ago.
"After the last tour, I vowed to never again sign on to an unreasonable contract. I want a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honor all that I've brought to BLACK SABBATH since its beginning.
"That's the story so far.
"Stay safe and stay strong.
"I love every single one of you."

On 11/11/11 at 11:11 A.M, the Heavy Music community gathered at the Whiskey A Go GO in Los Angeles, California. The occasion? The pioneers of Heavy Metal, the legendary band Black Sabbath, announced during a press conference that they will be recording a NEW album in 2012 with the master of the boards Rick Rubin! The band also announced that they are planning a World Tour (initial tourdates listed below)! Black Sabbath has also been confirmed to headline next years Download Festival on June 10th, 2012!
According to Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath have already written a handful of songs for their first NEW studio album in 33 years, and are planning to enter the studio in early 2012.
In order to pay tribute to the legacy of Black Sabbath, and to their decision to reunite once again. On 12/2/11, Horns Up Rocks founder Jo Schüftan headed over to Powerful Magic Tattoo in Brooklyn, NY and got a tattoo of the Black Sabbath emblem in tribute to the godfathers of Heavy Metal. After much speculation, the original four members of BLACK SABBATH – OZZY OSBOURNE (vocals), TONY IOMMI (guitar), GEEZER BUTLER (bass) and BILL WARD (drums) – have reunited to record their first new studio album in 33 years with producer Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy winner, two of those as Producer of the Year) and to embark on a massive world tour in 2012.
OSBOURNE, IOMMI, BUTLER and WARD as well as Rubin all gathered today on 11/11/11 to announce the news at a Los Angeles press conference at the legendary club, the Whisky A Go-Go, the site of the groundbreaking and influential band’s first L.A. concert exactly 41 years ago (Nov 11, 1970). The event was hosted by the revered musical and spoken word artist Henry Rollins who has said that “Any band worth their weight in napalm wishes they had written ‘War Pigs.’”
Selling over 70 million albums together, the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have signed a new record deal worldwide with Vertigo and Vertigo/ Universal Republic in the U.S., the band’s original label. BLACK SABBATH is now in the studio recording the as-yet-untitled new album for release in the fall of 2012 (exact date TBA). It will mark their ninth studio album together and their first since 1978’s Never Say Die!
Next summer, BLACK SABBATH will headline the mammoth multi-day UK Download Festival in the U.K. on June 10. The new album will then be supported with a worldwide headline arena tour (dates TBA).
BLACK SABBATH also announced today the launch of www.blacksabbath.com, the first-ever official BLACK SABBATH website for all authorized BLACK SABBATH news. In addition, the band’s online presence will also be supported by social media via Facebook and Twitter–again, marking the band’s first-ever foray into the social media world.
BLACK SABBATH released their self-titled debut album in 1970. “Black Sabbath is credited with creating heavy metal,” according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “The success of their first two albums–Black Sabbath and Paranoid–marked a paradigm shift in the world of rock. Not until Black Sabbath upended the music scene did the term ‘heavy metal’ enter the popular vocabulary to describe the denser, more thunderous offshoot of rock over which they presided.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also noted, “…they remain one of the most misunderstood bands in rock history,” adding: “The band’s musicality was generally overlooked, but they possessed an inventiveness and fluency that, in hindsight, makes them seem as much of a progressive-rock band as a heavy-metal one.”
In 1998, BLACK SABBATH released Reunion from their 1997 concerts in Birmingham, England, a two-CD live set that featured two new studio songs. The band has also sporadically reunited for shows in 1999, 2002 and 2004; in 2005, the four performed concerts together when they toured Europe and then headlined the 10th anniversary of Osbourne’s namesake festival OZZfest. Also in 2005, they were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame by Brian May of Queen. This was followed by their induction in 2006 into the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an honor bestowed on them by Metallica’s James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.
