Members of KISS to open NEW restaurant tomorrow!

This is very cool! Kiss co-founders Gene
Simmons and Paul Stanley will be opening a third location of their restaurant called "Rock & Brews" tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8, on PCH in Torrance.

"Often this idea of themed restaurants means that it's an excuse for crap food," self-described "foodie" Stanley tells us on-site, as power tools fizz and pound around him in the airy building jutting into a busy intersection. "The idea here is not crap food. It's craft beer; it's artisan pizzas; it's food, arguably, that you couldn't serve at home, but wish you could."

In partnership with concert industry veterans Dave and Dell Furano, and restaurateur Michael Zislis, Stanley and Simmons opened their first Rock & Brews restaurant in El Segundo in April 2012, and another in Los Cabos, Mexico, in March. Rock & Brews LAX is set to open in that airport's Delta Airlines Terminal this summer, followed by an Agoura location in the fall. Locations in Maui, Hawaii and Kansas City, Missouri are also scheduled.
In its unfinished state, the 5,400-square-foot Rock & Brews PCH recalls a Hard Rock Café or similar rock 'n' roll-themed eatery. Bold prints of music icons (including Tom Petty, AC/DC, Bob Marley and, yes, Kiss) enliven dining room and patio walls, while a trio of guitar necks, presumably intended for display, lay stacked on a table.
"It's like being backstage at a rock concert and it's also like being in your living room," says Stanley, who is 61. "Never kid yourself -- everybody wants to be a rock star!"

Does MÖTLEY CRÜE's Tommy Lee Dislike His Fans?

Tommy Lee is currently on the road with his band MÖTLEY CRÜE in Australia. After claiming last year that he "hates taking pictures" (read more HERE), Lee has announced that he will also not be participating in the band's paid meet-and-greet sessions because he "doesn't agree with doing it under certain circumstances." To this he added:

"For those of you that are asking why I am not doing anymore meet-and-greets!! It's got nothing to do with me not wanting to meet the fans, I just don't agree with doing it under the certain given circumstances. I love you all and I'll gladly high-five y'all if I see you out 'n' about — and you won't have to pay me for that."

While one could argue that the fans should not have to pay to meet their heroes, Lee should suck it up and do the meet-and-greets so the fans are not disappointed by his absence. If anything, he can refuse to get his cut for what the band receives monetarily after each meet-and-greet session. But now since he is not showing up, the fans should get part of the money refunded!

The band is offering the following "VIP packages" while on tour in Australia:

- "Kickstart My Heart Meet And Greet Package" for $899
- "Wildside VIP Package" for $425
- "Crüe Teaser Package" for $295

Note: Only the "Kickstart My Heart" package includes an opportunity to meet and take a photo with the band.

KISS: Band Members Reflect On 40 Years Of Rocking All Night Long & Partying Every Day!

Today, in January 1973 Rock N' Roll legends KISS performed their very first show at a club in Queens, NY called Popcorn. The band has reflected on four decades of decibels:

"My dream from the start was five years of glory with KISS. Along with Peter and Ace, we kicked doors open that stood in our way, and every band member who has stood with me at some point during these decades has played an essential part in turning that five year dream into a phenomenal 40 year reality. I thank each of you for your contribution to this milestone.

"Our journey and victories are a joy I also share with you, our fans who have always given us the freedom to stand and fall on our own terms, and we have done both with a grateful smile. For the past ten years, Tommy and Eric’s pride and dedication have enabled Gene and I to reclaim and celebrate all that we have been, while continuing to move forward in a way that would have been impossible without them. I love playing with the band as it is today, and many of my proudest moments are tied to moments of magic we have created together in the studio and on the stage. I know we’re ready to do it again.

"Humble thanks."

- Paul Stanley

"To the Kiss Army - who made it all possible for us.

"To Paul, without whom I would never have been able to achieve my dreams.

"And to the band - past and present, for continuing to treat the stage as holy ground and the fans as our bosses.

"Here's to another 40 years!"

- Gene Simmons

"A special thanx to ALL of the Fans who have been with the band on this roller coaster ride called KISS for 40 years! I am honored to be a part of this machine and pay special respect to all members past & present. I especially want to thank Paul, Gene, Tommy & Doc McGhee for giving me a place to call home. And most importantly the Fans. YOU Fuel this engine!"

- Eric Singer

"At 40 years strong, I'm proud to be in one of the greatest bands in rock history. KISS is a band that is as full of life and vitality today as it was 10, 20, 30 and 40 years ago. All eras of the band should be celebrated today. Long live KISS."

Oh yeahhhh! "The Late Night TV Page" has reported that legendary New York City based band KISS will appear on CBS's "Late Show With David Letterman" on October 10th. Check your local listings for details.

KISS's NEW album 'Monster' (set to be released in October through Universal Music Enterprises) is a "12-track, straight-ahead rock 'n' roll album". 09. Outta This World
10. All For The Love Of Rock & Roll
11. Take Me Down Below
12. Last Chance
13. Right Here Right Now

Here is the NEW single from Heavy Music legends KISS is part of the band's 20th studio album entitled 'Monster'. Entitled "Hell Or Hallelujah", guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley calls the track, "a battle cry that encapsulates the entire record... one way or another, we're going to do it our way".

'Monster' is the group's first studio album since the band's 2009 smash success, 'Sonic Boom', and was also produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins at Conway Studios in Hollywood, California, and The Nook in Studio City, California.

In other KISS news, according to Gene Simmons, the 35th anniversary edition ‘Destroyer’ reissue will be released very soon. He says that it will be “coming out shortly, this summer.”

36 years after the release of ‘Destroyer,’ it’s easy to understand why Simmons considers the album “a very pivotal record for us.” It marked an important point in “Kisstory,” with the band learning a new process of making music. Producer Bob Ezrin wanted to take the band back to their roots and have them really focus on the formatics of being a band, telling them “we’re going to learn how to tune our guitars and talk about song structure.”

As Simmons told Ultimate Classic Rock, it was a different path than the one they had taken on their first three studio albums. “When we first started out, you know, we basically dove into the deep end of the pool and [said] ‘let’s see if we can swim?’ And then once you stay in the water long enough, you want to start to get some style and do the breaststroke and the backstroke and all of that stuff, because you become a better swimmer. It’s not just enough to not sink. So the sink or swim thing became ‘hey, let’s be really good swimmers.’”

KISS: NEW Lyric Video For NEW Song "Hell Or Hallelujah" Streaming Now!

KISS nation, today you get to listen to a NEW song entitled "Hell Or Hallelujah" via a lyric video! The NEW single from Heavy Music legends KISS is part of the band's 20th studio album entitled 'Monster' (set to be released in October through Universal Music Enterprises). KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley calls the track, "a battle cry that encapsulates the entire record... one way or another, we're going to do it our way".

Described in a press release as a "12-track, straight-ahead rock 'n' roll album", 'Monster' features collaborations among all four members — including co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons and longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer — in an album that shows the band at the top of its game. And that's saying something, considering their illustrious, 40-plus year history — 28 U.S. gold albums, the most gold records for any American Rock band, 40 million sales in the U.S., and a total exceeding 100 million worldwide.

Mötley Crüe: Tommy Lee Loves You, But Don't Ask Him For A Picture!

"Dear fans,

"I fucking LOVE my fans! And you know this!!!... If you asked anyone that knows me really well, they would tell ya the same thing... 'Tommy loves his fans. He lives for this shit... he eats, breathes, shits music 24/7'. They'll also probably tell ya that 'he's a down-to-earth grateful life-lovin dude and a nice guy, too'.

"What I have a problem with is... taking pictures! I hate it! Irritates the fuck out of me when people say... 'You owe it to your fans, they put you where you are, etc. etc.'!

"I certainly don't owe anybody anything!

"When I bought all my LED ZEPPELIN records and concert tickets, I didn't say, 'One day these fuckers are gonna owe me a picture', It's the least they can do for me!...

"[What the fuck], people? You don't admire something so that it can give back... You just cherish it! And to those who say, 'You should be grateful that people wanna take your picture. Maybe one day they won't want it'! That day can't come soon enough!

"[By the way]… I'm not here to take pictures with you, I'm here to entertain you!

"Nobody put me where I am but ME! They may have helped inspire me with their love for what I do... but I put myself right here where I want to be with a lot of hard work, practice, talent, luck, etc. What I do owe myself and others is being THE BEST I can be! And that's making great music, being a good man, father, lover and human being! We all owe that kinda stuff to ourselves and each other.

"People, do we really need a silly picture?... For what?! Bragging rights? Really?... Who fucking cares! Someone's not gonna believe you if ya don't have the proof pic? Then fuck 'em! I'd never go up to someone that I admired and bug them for a picture!! Why! I might say a quick hello... maybe a handshake? I dunno... It depends on the 'situation'... Most people never consider the 'situation'. That's really important... Ya wouldn't wanna handshake standing at the pisser in the men's bathroom next to me, would ya? And yes, that's happened to me, too... Or when you're eating a nice, quiet meal with your family, some rude jackass comes up and asks for a picture!

"You can't even imagine what kinda crazy has happened to me. I understand the excitement and all, but just take a second and think... Is this cool right now? It's called consciousness; it's the quality or state of being aware of an external object or something within oneself. Be conscious.

"So like I said… the fastest way to get me to leave is whip out a camera! Maybe just say hello and I'll probably take ya home with me! Well, I'd have to ask my girlfriend first! Hah!

"Sincerely yours, The Picture Taker Hater! Tommy Lee"
