PIG DESTROYER Unleash 'Mass & Volume', A Never Before Heard EP In Memory Of Pat Egan!

Grindcore Masters PIG DESTROYER have released a never before heard EP entitled 'Mass & Volume'. This EP is dedicated to the memory of Pat Egan and to the loving family he left behind. The EP is a Doom EP and the artwork was created by Arik Roper. The EP is available for purchase at http://patlapse.bandcamp.com/album/mass-volume. This is the only format that this EP is available in and all proceeds of this recording will be donated to the college fund of Pat Egan's daughter Katie.

The band spoke about Pat and the EP release:

"Pat Egan was a friend and a keystone member of the Relapse family for many of the years we have been involved with it. He devoted his life to supporting underground music and he immeasurably helped develop the bands he worked with. His untimely passing on February 18 2013 shocked the many people that his life and work had touched."

This EP was written and recorded during the final day of the 'Phantom Limb' sessions with unexpected extra studio time and resources. In the following years, with "Natasha" being released on its own and Brian no longer being in the band, the bands intentions of releasing 'Mass & Volume' basically evaporated. However, looking back now, 'Mass & Volume' serves as a great epilogue to that particular era of the band.
  
Less than 2 weeks ago Relapse Records released "Patlapse" in honor of the man who was so instrumental in the success of so many Relapse bands and records, the label has put together a 20 track compilation featuring a collection of his favorite songs and artists, including Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Brian Posehn, Red Fang, Death, and many more, including a never-before-released track from Exhumed. 
  
100% of proceeds from the compilation will go towards a college fund for his young daughter Katie. Relapse thanks each band for contributing each track and waiving their royalty fee to maximize the benefit for Pat's beloved family. The compilation is available via Bandcamp at this location for only $5 but friends and fans are welcome to donate as much as they want. A memorial event for Pat has been scheduled for Tuesday March 5th from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST at Idle Hands Bar in New York, NY. Everyone is invited to attend as we pay tribute to a dear friend, colleague & family man who left behind an amazing wife and a wonderful daughter. Peter Steele's Authorized Biography Confirmed; Writer Wants Fans Input!

Peter Steele, the legendary vocalist of Type O Negative and Carnivore, who passed away from heart failure on April 14, 2010 at the age of 48 will always be remembered for his charisma and his timeless anthemic songs. It has recently been announced that Metal journalist Jeff Wagner is writing an authorized biography of the frontman called "Soul On Fire" and he is asking fans to help.

Jeff Wagner has worked at Relapse, The End and Century Media Records, and was an editor at Metal Maniacs magazine from 1997 to 2001. He also wrote his first book on progressive Metal: "Mean Deviation: Four Decades of Progressive Heavy Metal". 

Jeff described this project: "the authorized biography of Peter Steele will be a comprehensive investigation of his life and music, supported by those who knew him best, written by a fan, for the fans.

"If you're a fan, have recollections of meeting Peter, have photos, tattoos, or anything, PM the Facebook group HERE. This is a total labor of love and one that his followers will hopefully find an indispensable part of the Type O continuum. Stay Negative!"

EXHUMED's New Album IS DONE; Tour With Napalm Death And Municipal Waste Starts Today!

West Coast death gore hooligans, EXHUMED, recently completed recording the follow-up to 2011’s 'All Guts, No Glory' full-length. The as-yet-untitled long player was recorded at Arcane Digital Recording in Chandler, Arizona with Ryan Butler (Misery Index, Landmine Marathon, Phobia). All drums were tracked at Trench Studios in Corona, California with John Haddad (Hirax, Abysmal Dawn, Intronaut). The unholy offering will be unleashed by Relapse Records sometime next year.

In the interim, the West Coast road burners, who recently returned from a short run of Japanese dates with Death Metal legends Cannibal Corpse, will embark upon a five-week North American Tour with Napalm Death and Municipal Waste. See all confirmed dates below.

EXHUMED 2012 features the smoldering lineup of vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey alongside bassist Rob “Body Bag” Babcock, drummer Mike Hamilton and guitarist/vocalist Bud Burke, who played bass with the band from 1999 – 2004 and recently rejoined the legion for their live rituals on this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour.

EXHUMED Are Coming To Japan With CANNIBAL CORPSE - Full Itinerary Available!

Relentless road demons, EXHUMED, will add to their expanding agenda of  live takeovers with a string of Japanese tour dates alongside Death Metal pioneers CANNIBAL CORPSE! The shows kick off on October 15th in Tokyo and will serve as a warm up to the band’s recently announced five-week North American Tour with Napalm Death and Municipal Waste with additional support from Vektor, Dayglo Abortions, Attitude Adjustment, Speedwolf, Martha Splatterhead’s Revenge, Repulsion and Dwarves on select dates.

Notes frontman Matt Harvey: "We are totally psyched to head back to the land of the rising sun! Japan has always been one of our favorite places to play --  the kids are amazing, the food is great, and the giant robots are just a delight! To go there with our friends in Cannibal is even cooler, and we are pumped to make sure this will be a Death Metal spectacle of epic proportions. It's been quite a while since we've been there so it will rule to trot out some new tunes in between sake bombs and bar hopping in Roppongi."

Additionally, the band plan to enter the studio at the end of the year to begin recording their sixth full-length and follow-up to 'All Guts, No Glory'. DYING FETUS Ready To Kickoff "The Womb to Waste" European Tour Tomorrow!

DYING FETUS are kicking off "The Womb to Waste" European headline tour tomorrow night in beautiful Lindau, Germany. The tour runs through October 14th in Aarschot, Belgium. Support on the tour will come from label mates REVOCATION, JOB FOR A COWBOY and CEREBRAL BORE.

The band is on the road supporting their latest Relapse Records release 'Reign Supreme', which landed spots on four of Billboard's charts during its first week of release. 

'Reign Supreme' is available for purchase from the Relapse store HERE and digitally on iTunes.

'Reign Supreme' features nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Members Of EXHUMED Talk About "Summer Slaughter" & About How Progressive Metal Bands Are Too Predictable!

Recently, the tri-state area Headbangers joined forces at New York City's legendary venue Irving Plaza (formerly The Fillmore) for the 2012 Summer Slaughter Tour. This years event is co-headlined by the mighty CANNIBAL CORPSE and Progressive Metallers BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME. Two bands that have a very different sound, but that have managed to open the minds of each others fans by penetrating ear drums like very few bands out there. The 2012 SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour truly represents what the state of Heavy Music is today: many different types of fans coming together to jam out to their favorite bands while learning about new bands and tendencies.

BLACK TUSK Announce U.S. Headlining Tour - Dates Available!

Savannah, Georgia's BLACK TUSK, are in the midst of their first ever European headline tour.  The run will wrap up this week with a festival appearance in Tonsberg, Norway with an appearance at Slottsfjell Fest.

BLACK TUSK have confirmed a string of North American headlining dates for this fall. The run kicks off October 13th in Johnson City, TN and is scheduled to wrap up October 24th in Portland, Oregon. The band is touring in support of their latest release 'Set The Dial' which is streaming in full below. The album is available for purchase via Relapse.com and iTunes.

REVOCATION Confirmed For Scion Rock Fest & Shockwave Festival - Band Statement Available!

Massachusetts Metallers REVOCATION have confirmed that they will be taking part in this year's Scion Rock Fest on June 2^nd taking place in Tampa, Florida. The event kicks off at four pm and will be held at four venues in the area including: The Ritz Ybor, Crowbar, The Orpheum and Czar Bar.

REVOCATION front man Dave Davidson spoke about playing this year's Scion Rock Fest:

"We are very pleased to be a part of this year's Scion Rock Fest. We can't wait to tear it up and check out all the sick bands that are playing. Floridians, prepare for the onslaught!"  

The band has also confirmed that they will be taking part in the Shockwave Festival Tour alongside Fear Factory, Voivod, Cattle Decapitation and more. The tour kicks off July 6^th in Seattle, WA and runs through August 4^th in Hollywood, CA.

"This summer's Shockwave Festival is packed with totally sick bands and we're very pumped to be a part of it. We're already bros with a bunch of the bands on this package so we know it'll be a rager for sure and the fact that Fear Factory is headlining with direct support from Voivod is gonna make it totally insane. It's going to be a very booze drenched summer!" says Davidson.  

REVOCATION will also be hitting the road this summer with label mates DYING FETUS and Six Feet Under on the "18 Nights of Blood Tour". The tour starts June 8^th in Atlanta, GA and will wrap up June 29^th in Tampa, FL. Dates are listed below. REVOCATION Are Kicking Off Their North American Headline Tour Tonight!

Massachusetts shredders REVOCATION are hitting the road today on their first North American headlining tour. Fresh off their recent tour with Children of Bodom, the band will start their trek Allston, MA and run through April 29th in Trenton, NJ. The music of the legendary Heavy Metal band Death, has been revitalized thanks to the great people at Relapse Records. Entitled "Vivus", the two-CD collection features two Death concerts that were recorded in 1998. Disc 1 was recorded at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California, and disc 2 was recorded at the festival stage at Dynamo Open Air in Eindhoven, Holland.

"Vivus!" is available right now in North America, and March 5 in the rest of Europe.
