Last week, Zakk Wylde announced a series of very special book release events for his NEW book "Bringing Metal to the Children: The Complete Berzerker’s Guide to World Tour Domination" that will take place at The Iridium in New York City. Here is a word fromZakk:
"An Evening with Yours Truly a/k/a The Book Tour of Doom June 11 & 12 NYC! 2 shows per night."
In celebration of the release of his book "Bringing Metal to the Children: The Complete Berzerker’s Guide to World Tour Domination", Zakk launched his very own YouTube series. Here is a video featuring Zakk showing the world his guitar rig.
Zakk Wylde never stops! His latest book "Bringing Metal to the Children: The Complete Berzerker’s Guide to World Tour Domination" is available now in paperback via William Morrow.
In the book, Zakk shares what really goes on behind tour bus windows and
stage doors.
"If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s really like to tour with a
big-time metal group, this is the definitive statement," wrote Guitar World Editor-in-Chief Brad Tolinski in his original column about the book.
"While most rock bios focus on the 'sensitive inner-workings' of the
artist, Zakk dispenses with all that comedy and gets down to the
drinking, the vomiting, the disgusting pranks and non-stop jackass
behavior that describes actual touring life.
"Or, as he explains in the book’s intro, “You lucky motherfuckers are
gonna learn what it takes to tear through shows on the road in pure
Black Label fashion, rollin’ though hell and destroying everything in
your path.”
Wylde has just announced a series of very special book release events on June 11th and 12th at The Iridium in New York City. Here is a word fromZakk: "An

Finland's music revolutionaries Apocalyptica will once again present a novelty – for the first time in the
band’s history, the globally successful cello rockers are going on tour
with a classical orchestra. The ambitious production with the
prestigious Finnish “Avanti! Orchestra” will premier in March of 2014.
Apocalyptica have played over 1,000 concerts in more than 50 countries,
released 7 studio albums and worked with renowned artists like Corey
Taylor (Slipknot), Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Ville
Valo (HIM), and Till Lindemann (Rammstein), just to mention a few. The university graduate
musicians, whose signature feature is to constantly explore uncharted
territory, started to blend rock and metal with classical music in the
early nineties, celebrating worldwide success until today.
In 2014, Apocalyptica will go on tour with a classical orchestra for the
first time in their career. The collaboration with the Finnish “Avanti!
Orchestra” is a long-cherished project, premiering in Finland live next
March. The set will solely consist of instrumentally performed
Apocalyptica songs, especially arranged for the band and the 25-piece
orchestra. Following shows in Finland, the tour will proceed to Russia,
Germany, Poland, Belarus and the Baltic states. Presales for these
unique live events will commence from May 23rd – for now, tickets will
be available via Apocalyptica.com exclusively.

Following his fantastic London Garage show this past November, Scott Ian from ANTHRAX will be joining forces with Metal Hammer for a very unique full spoken-word tour. Arriving to the U.K. this May and June, the 16-date trek, dubbed "Speaking Words", will give him a chance to spill out many of the stories he has collected during his 30-plus-year career. A video teaser can be seen below: "It's something I've always wanted to do, and I've always been trying to figure out how can I do this, how would I ever make this possible," he recently told Decibel magazine. "I've seen [Henry] Rollins do it all these years; I saw Rollins, maybe on the first time he ever did a tour I went to see what it was going to be about. I mean, I am a huge fan of Rollins' music and I had read all his books at the time, so I really knew that he had a point of view and something he needed to express and he did it really well. It's something that I always wanted to do and I finally had the opportunity this year; doing this one-off show in London. I was approached by the band's agent, who basically put it together, and asked, 'Are you interested in doing this?' And I said, 'Absolutely. I've been kinda waiting for this to happen but I didn't know how to kick-start it.' I did the one show in London and I enjoyed myself so much, I had such a good time with it that I was like, 'Can I do more of this? How do we do more of this?' They came back and said, 'There's a lot of interest in it, do you wanna do a tour?' I was like, 'Sign me up! Let's find a window when it works and go and do it.'" Asked where he got the material from and whether it was something that he had sketched out in advance, Scott said: "No! I did absolutely zero rehearsal. I didn't even know how to prepare for it, truthfully. The show was booked months in advance, and I had all these months to think about it, and think, 'Okay, I'm going to put a whole show together… ' Because I am friends with a lot of stand-up comedians and a lot of writers, and I am a big fan of comedy and certainly live stand-up comedy. I've seen my friends do it and I think that it's the most challenging thing in the world just to sit down, write jokes, get on stage and make people laugh. I mean, I think that's the hardest thing in the entertainment industry. It doesn't get any more raw than that, and I am certainly not a joke writer nor am I a stand-up comedian, but I just feel that my life is, in so many ways, ridiculous. The last 32 years of my life spent in a metal band; I've got so many stories, whether it's shit that I've done, people that I've met, stories that I know from other people… I've kinda been in this bubble for so long. I sit around in bars with my friends and I'll get around to telling stories, as we all do, and most of my friends are in this industry or connected to it somehow, so we all have stories and we all sit down and tell stories to each other and crack each other up. I always felt that people need to hear this stuff. This shit is hilarious. It's just a really fun thing for me to do, to relate to people on that level. That's what it is. That's what the material is; it's shit that I have been through in my life." Via Blabbermouth

- There are several album titles being considered, but for now they shall remain secret.
- Regarding connection with Bob Ezrin: Steve Morse met him back when he was in Kansas.

TERROR is currently touring the world in support of their latest release, 'Keepers Of The Faith', hitting North America this month with BANE, NAYSAYER, and ROTTING OUT before heading over to Europe, then Ireland and the UK this fall-- but their impending stop in the Czech Republic has now been cancelled. In regards to this cancellation, TERROR comments:
"TERROR is going to cancel their show in the Czech Republic this month. We feel obligated to stand up for Randy Blythe. This situation seems to be taken too lightly. Randy comes from Punk and Hardcore roots, just like TERROR. He still supports underground music and has always supported TERROR-- even singing on stage alongside us when we play Richmond. This hits really close to home for us having members of the band and our crew from the hometown of LAMB OF GOD.
"We love our Czech fans very much and have amazing shows there, but we need to 'stick tight' to our friend Randy, which is why we have chosen to cancel the show. As a band that could easily be in this same position at any given show, we don't think we can play there and act like this is OK - it isn't.
"This is bigger than a hashtag or a clever t-shirt-- we as a community need to take action and speak up. Free Randy Blythe."

Megadeth's leader, Dave Mustaine, recently sat down with Spin.com and gave them a tour of the room where he keeps his most priceless possessions. During the video segment, Mustaine also talked about his religious background and his recent neck injury.
Some of this possessions include:
- AC/DC's "Let There Be Rock": "I used to sell pot, and this girl who worked at a record store would pay me in albums. I remember putting this one on — the first song is called "Go Down" and the cover shows the scruffiest-looking hooligans I'd ever seen. I thought, "This is my band." It changed my life."
- Crossbow: "When we moved [to San Diego] from Arizona, my son Justis and I wanted to have a sport that we did together, so I got him a plastic bow and he was like, "Dad, this sucks — I want a real one." He's really good with this thing. We almost got a compound bow, but that's too serious. I don't wanna be Ted Nugent."
- Shofar: "I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, rebelled by doing witchcraft, and got into all kinds of bad stuff before I saw a cross on a hill one day and said, "What've I got to lose?" [Mustaine is now a Christian.] But my mom is Jewish, and on holidays I blow this ram's horn to get rid of bad spirits."

Ever since the tragic passing of Slipknot's bassist Paul Gray in May of 2010, the future of Slipknot has been one of the biggest mysteries within the Heavy Music world. While the band did make a triumphant return to Europe this summer, where they headlined the Sonisphere Festival show in Knebsworth, England, the remaining members of Slipknot are taking their time and are strategically planning every step the band takes after the passing of # 2.
The big question that every single maggot has is when and if Slipknot is going to record a new album. On a recent interview with Kerrang Magazine vocalist Corey Taylor made it clear that Slipknot is not ready to enter the studio anytime soon.
"It's still too soon. At least that's how I feel. I'm not ready to make a Slipknot album. I think there will be a day when we do. But for me, doing it now wouldn't make sense. You can't do a three-week tour then jump into the studio, especially after something like this. It makes more sense to do a few more tours and reconnect as a band first. If we jumped right in, it wouldn't be about the absence. It would be about the rest of us. We were the nine, but there's a piece missing. We should allow people to pay their respects before we come out with new music. We should do this right."
To this drummer Joey Jordison added:
"We're a family, and losing a family member sucks. But you can't help that, but you need to move on and I think that what we're gonna do might be the most powerful thing that we've ever created."
Slipknot's last record, "All Hope Is Gone", was released in 2008. So for now, we suggest you crank it up, since we are all going to have to wait for a new Slipknot album.
As far as touring plans, both Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan confirmed last week that Slipknot are planning a US tour for Spring of 2012. Stay tuned for more Slipknot news!
