New Jersey Nu-Metallers God Forbid have announced a couple of East Coast shows in order to unleash some of their brand NEW songs. This is what God Forbid's guitarist Doc Coyle had to say about these series of shows: "With only one show in 2011 and two months spent in the recording studio, we have been itching to get out and play. We thought it would be a great idea to get into an intimate setting in our area for the real God Forbid fans. Expect to hear some NEW songs and some old cuts that haven't been played in a while."
- February 18 - Brooklyn, NY - St. Vitus
- February 24 - Clifton, NJ - Dingbatz
While this Jersey natives have faced many obstacles throughout their career, they have managed to never stop delivering their original blend of Heavy Metal and Hardcore mixed in with tastes of Thrash Metal. Not only are this guys very talented, but they have always been a hard working band that has never gotten anything handed to them. After the departure of guitarist Dallas Coyle in March of 2009, the future of the band was somewhat uncertain. However, the band is back with a new mission, a new guitarist (Matt Wicklund [ex-Himsa]), and a new record label (Victory Records). A demo version of a new song, "Where We Come From", is available below.
Recently, we had the chance to chat with God Forbid's guitarist Doc Coyle about the present and future of the band. The interview took place at these years Metalsuckfest in New York City, which was the first time that the band performed live since their New Years show on December of 2010. During the interview, Doc made it clear that even though they are facing many obstacles and starting a new chapter in their musical careers, that the band is focusing on creating the best possible sounding record and not on whatever worked or didn't work in the past. Check out our exclusive interview with God Forbid's Doc Coyle.
