CARCASS Announce NEW Label Home; Band To Be Part Of One Of The Metal Cruises!
The band has been confirmed for next years 70000 Tons Of Metal, which is scheduled to take place in January of 2014!
Here is the bands official statement regarding their NEW deal with NB:
"We are pleased to announce that we have found the perfect home for 'Surgical Steel', the first Carcass album for, what, eighteen years?! We've inked a deal with Nuclear Blast for our new baby.
"We have to thank Markus Staiger for his enthusiasm and belief in what he heard, but mostly his ability to take advantage of Jeff with a bad hangover when he visited the office in Stuttgart to let him be the first to hear the rough mixes. Nuclear Blast has managed to secure this release despite interest from all the main players in what remains of the metal ‘music industry.’
"We're also looking forward to working with our pals in the US Office, who have done favors for us behind the scenes over the last few years. On a personal note, Jeff looks forward to his and label manager Gerardo Martinez' friendship to come crashing down in flames and tears in a few months.
"As long as we don't mention ‘The War’ we think we're going to do just fine with our new Teutonic home!"
Here are the songs that the band recorded for 'Surgical Steel':
* The Master Butcher’s Apron
* The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills
* A Congealed Clot Of Blood
* A Wraith In The Apparatus
* 316l Grade Surgical Steel
* Cadaver Pouch Conveyor System
* Captive Bolt Pistol
* Intensive Battery Brooding
* None Compliance To Astm F899-12 Standard
* Mount Of Execution
* 1985/Thrasher’s Abattoir
* Unfit For Human Consumption
* Zochrot
* Livestock Marketplace

OPETH: celebrate 10 years of 'Damnation' at an in-store performance on Record Store Day!
This past Saturday, April 20, Sweden's OPETH performed a very special set at a record store in Leominster, Massachusetts in celebration of ‘Record Store Day‘ as well as the 10th anniversary of their groundbreaking studio album 'Damnation'. Fan-filmed footage can be seen below.
'Damnation' was released on April 22, 2003 via Koch Records. Damnation is the seventh full-length studio album by Opeth and produced by Steven Wilson. 'Damnation' was released only five months after 'Deliverance' and was dedicated by Mikael Åkerfeldt to his grandmother, who died in a car accident during the recordings of 'both albums which was also the reason why he did not write lyrics to "Death Whispered a Lullaby" because of how distraught he was the incident, distracting him to do so.
The album was a radical departure from their typical death metal sound and the first Opeth release to do so with a much softer with clean vocals and guitar sounds, prominent mellotron, 1970s inspired progressive rock genre which features no heavy riffs, extendedly fast tempos and shorter songs.
Here is video of OPETH jamming on Record Store Day:
In case you missed this: OPETH are writing NEW music! According to Fredrik, the next record will go "in a somewhat different direction to 'Heritage'. It won't be a step back, but it will be different. Maybe more intense in a way. You'll have to wait and see! I was in the studio today and put down my solos and I was very happy about it. The song I heard that Mikael [Åkerfeldt]wrote today sounds very cool. I think that's all I can say at this point!"
According to Åkesson, the band is planning to re-enter the studio this fall, perhaps at the end of September! Exciting ah? Stay tuned for more OPETH news!

Former THE HAUNTED Singer Peter Dolving Talks About Conceited Racism In Music
Peter Dolving, formerly from THE HAUNTED and now the leader of HOUSE OF DOLVING, has never been one to hold back when it comes time to speaking his mind. If you are part of his Facebook clan, you know exactly what we are talking about. Over the weekend, Dolving posted a lenghty post about his views on the "conceited racism carried by musicians all over the world". Read on...
"Something that's been buggin me my entire life;
"The conceited racism carried by musicians all over the world.
"I keep hearing this over and over in regards of rhythm. So let me make myself very clear; An individuals relation to rhythm, groove, swing and rhythmical/harmonic stringence, dynamics and etc. has got absolutely zilch to do with color of skin or race.
"As a musician you are either technical or emotive, some are very lucky to be both. But there's no ethnic magic involved in what gives reggae, blues or Rock its "typical" traits. There are styles of playing and individual musician relation to him/herself and the world in which we reside.
"It's all very simple really; Learn, and play the god-damned song. It will sound the way you play it it. End of story. A shitty musician will make a great song sound awkward, pathetic and flat. A great musician will make fucking "Crazy frog" sound cool. The audience may or may not care.
"Over the years playing material with different musicians the attempt to reach certain places with the inherit structure of individual songs has probably been the most frustrating thing of all. the amount of hangups and ego involved staggering.
"Being able to shred doesn't make you a great musician. Music is about flow. Understanding and communicating. It can be stringent or angular, but the flow determines.
"I have listened for too long to musicians I used to consider with great respect say terrible things about other musicians who have character and angularity. Dissing masterful players because they are "sloppy" etc. Well here's the deal; The sloppy takes discipline and daring, it takes an open mind as well as an open heart.
"There are schools for musicians. You can learn a lot just by repeating and rehearsing. But know this; Overt skillful masturbatory technique for its own sake becomes a circus sideshow. It is a vehicle, a tool. You are never bigger than the song, the piece in which you play. A perfectly polished surface often betrays a bland cold interior. And music is not an alibi... it's privilege. "

Ghost B.C.'s Album Delayed Due To Blasphemous Artwork Featuring An Orgy - Details Available!
GHOST B.C. was scheduled to release their second studio album 'Infestissumam' on April 9th via Loma Vista Recordings (NEW record label founded by Tom Whalley in partnership with Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group). According to SPIN, the band has been forced to push the release back a week to April 16th. The reason for the delay:
Four CD manufacturers have refused to print a piece of artwork that was meant to be part of the deluxe version of the album. Reportedly, all the manufacturers took issue with the sacrilegious imagery.
"We kept on getting turned down because of the CD art, which is basically a 16th century illustration of an orgy". The NSFW illustration, inspired by the work of Gustave Dore, showcases what looks like a forest nymph orgy, but it's the religious iconography at the top that convinced manufacturers to turn off the printing press.
Even though the 'Infestissumam' booklets had all been printed, the band struggled to find anyone in the States to print the CD for them. "They weren't surprised. The comment was 'Well, I thought this would have happened sooner,'" the source said. "The artwork was meant to provoke some sort of thought, but it's been one obstacle after another".
In order to avoid delaying the album release any longer, Ghost B.C. opted to reuse the CD art found on the standard edition of their album. The artwork, a collaboration between Polish artist Zbignew Bielak II and a Nameless Ghoul, is key to an elaborate deluxe package that features each song's lyrics accompanied by a illustration to form a narrative within the music. The controversial art can still be found on both the vinyl and European copies of the Infestissuman CD. "Vinyl manufacturers don't have a problem with the artwork. Neither does Europe."
Don't forget that Sweden's kings of mystery, have announced that they are coming to South America via the following message:
"Children of South America! We are now finally bringing our diabolical crusade to your shores. On September 19, we will conduct a massive ritual at Rock In Rio! Malicious wishes..."

CARCASS Offer Fans A NEW Album Update For 'Surgical Steel'!
Recently CARCASS announced that their next sonic assault will be called 'Surgical Steel' and should see the light of day later this year via an as-yet-undetermined record label. 'Surgical Steel' will be the bands first studio album in 17 years.
The band has announced that Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY) will mix their highly anticipated comeback album, after Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) quit the project two weeks into the mixing process because he was "burned out".
CARCASS bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker had this to say about Richardson's decision to quit mixing 'Surgical Steel': "He quit yesterday. He was two weeks into mixing the album and he decided that he didn't want to continue. So Andy Sneap is taking over. [Colin's] produced the album. It's just that he's hit a brick wall with the mix and doesn't want to continue. And so we're bringing in Andy Sneap to do the mix now. It's a shame, but we finished recording the album three months ago. There are a lot of reasons for it, but the main reason is that he says he is burnt out. I guess it will be a positive thing to bring in some fresh ears."
The band’s first studio outing since 1996′s 'Swansong' will be the first to feature NEW drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and also features guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen.
Here are the songs that the band record:
* The Master Butcher’s Apron
* The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills

Guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson, who have been touring with CARCASS since the band’s reunion was announced in 2007, are no longer involved with the group due to scheduling conflicts with their main band, ARCH ENEMY. “For live, we’ll obviously add another guitarist — we have someone in mind but we are not interested in a ‘name’ player,” Walker told Decibel magazine in December.

As previously reported, GHOST B.C. is finalizing the production of their second studio album, which is set to be released on April 9th via Loma Vista Recordings (NEW record label founded by Tom Whalley in partnership with Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group). GHOST's cult leader Papa Emeritus (rumored to be REPUGNANT/SUBVISION's Tobias Forge) and his Nameless Ghouls have summoned Nashville-based Grammy Award-winning Nick Raskulinecz (DEATH ANGEL, DEFTONES, FOO FIGHTERS, RUSH) to produce this offering.
Ghost B.C. recently unleashed the music video clip for their song called "Secular Haze". Watch it HERE!
Don't forget that Sweden's kings of mystery, have announced that they are coming to South America via the following message:
"Children of South America! We are now finally bringing our diabolical crusade to your shores. On September 19, we will conduct a massive ritual at Rock In Rio! Malicious wishes..."
