ANTHRAX Is Gearing Up For Hometown Show Tonight With Full Lineup; Last Night's Show Almost Gets Ruined By Jackass Fan!

New York City Thrashers Anthrax, have had a very bittersweet run on their current co-headlining tour with Testament. The tour also features Death Angel. In case you haven't heard yet, Charlie Benante was forced to leave the tour to come home to his fragile mother who is Frankie Bello's grandmother, who unfortunately has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie and Frankie. Frankie came home once he received the news of his grandmother's passing.

Previous to this unfortunate event, on Wednesday, January 25, Scott Ian contracted a bad viral infection that caused him to be hospitalized near his home in Los Angeles. He was put though a battery of tests, and received fluids intravenously. While he was allowed to go home to await the test results, ER doctors told him he could not fly for at least 24 hours; consequently Ian missed Thursday's show in Kansas City and Friday's Indianapolis concert. He rejoined the band in Fort Wayne on Saturday.

During Ian's absence, guitarists from Testament and Death Angel stepped in to play his parts on various songs; while Testament's drummer Gene Hoglan has been filling in for Charlie.

Last night, while the band was getting ready to play at Ram’s Head Live in Baltimore, MD a fan through a drink at the monitor console and fried some vital components. This is what Scott Ian had to say about this:

"Buy a ticket, buy a drink, throw it and fry our monitor console and make everyone wait an hour while our crew fixes it. You are an asshole. Our sound engineer Bobbo was able to hook an iPad up to the console and run it from that. Apple to the rescue. Without that no show."

Today (February 8), Anthrax will be performing their last show of the tour at the Best Buy Theater in their hometown of New York City and it has been confirmed by Charlie Benante that both him and Frankie will be returning to the stage in honor of his mother. Here is what Frankie had to say about this:

"Charlie and I are playing Best Buy Theater tonight because his mom/my grandmother would want us to. Tonight's show is dedicated to her." To this Scott Ian added: "New York City on Hell & the return of Charlie and Frank. I can't put into words how great it's going to be to be back together at home. Be there to celebrate the Giants victory with us at the Best Buy theater!!!"
