Why don't we all take a break from the SLAYER drama involving Dave Lombardo (info HERE), and listen to his sons band TO HUMANS. Here is what Lombardo posted regarding his sons band: "My son Jeremy Lombardo on drums. These guys are having fun doing what they love.... play music."

Randy Blythe Gets A Very Meaningful Tat & A MISFITS Cake On His 42nd Birthday!
As we all know, David Randall Blythe from LAMB OF GOD is fighting the fight of his life. Blythe was imprisoned for five weeks in the Czech Republic after being detained on June 27, 2012 when the Grammy-nominated, Richmond, Virginia-based band arrived there for a show. The singer was freed without charge in August but had to post $400,000 bail, then left the country.
According to the prosecution, Blythe shoved Daniel Nosek, a 19 years old fan, off stage, thus inflicting fatal wounds on him. After being released on bail, which was contended by the State Attorney, Blythe refused responsibility for Nosek's death and pledged to return to attend the trial.
While the trial began on Monday, February 4, the trial had to be postponed until March 4, due to the fact that one witness fell ill and two criminal psychologists who were expected to testify were unable to attend during that week.
This past Thursday, February 21, Randy celebrated his 42nd birthday by posting the following pictures and by writing some very inspiring words on his Instagram account.
"Yesterday (Feb 21st) was my 42nd birthday. Many of you wished me a happy one here- thanks so much! My wife made me this bad-ass Crimson Ghost/Misfits cake- she put a lot of effort into it, so thanks babe! It makes me grateful to have her & my friends & family in my life. Yesterday I tried to think a lot about gratitude- I believe that as long as we are on this plane of existence, we should try to maintain an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE- we are here, drawing breath into our lungs- we should attempt to make the most of it, & it's hard to do that if we are full of self-pity or resentment. No one remains grateful all the time (certainly not me- I get into crappy selfish moods all the time), but there is no reason to stay in a self-centered, self-absorbed ball of negativity. Not if you want to live & do ANY GOOD- heck, not even if you just want to have a fun life. I am grateful for many things today. Tomorrow, regrettably I will not be able to go to help clean up Evergreen Cemetery. Ironically, this is because I will be at a funeral- it might be cancelled anyway, because it's supposed to be raining all day. My best friend from high-school's mother passed away, so I had to leave Tidewater to pay my respects at the visitation tonight & the funeral tomorrow. She died at home in hospice care, relatively peacefully. I am grateful for that, & I am grateful that I can be present & here for my buddy in his time of grief. This is a gift, to be present for the ones you love in times of sorrow."
"This is my tattoo of gratitude. SFG is the name we call our gratitude list group. SFG has a specific meaning to us that I won't share, but it can also stand for many other things- So Fucking Good, Stop Farting Greg, Stand For Greatness- whatever you want. For me yesterday, the day I turned 42, it meant SOBER FREE GRATEFUL. Because I am. Life isn't always fun, but for me, no matter what, if I keep a sober mind, I keep a free mind. If I keep a free mind, I keep a grateful mind. If keep a grateful mind, my life can be good, no matter what happens to me or where I wind up. Maintaining this attitude is something i must LEARN to do- it does not come natural to me, I am not Buddha like at all- it takes EFFORT- but it's foolish to expect something for nothing, now isn't it? I am not happy my friend's mother died, that she suffered a good while from cancer. But I am grateful that she is at peace, & I am grateful that I can be here for him & his family. These are important things in life we must not miss. Be present, be grateful, the best you can. There should be more clean-up days scheduled at Evergreen after I get back from Prague- hopefully I will see some of ya there! Have a good one. (Oh yeah, HHCF stands for "Hunting Heart Crushing Fear"- lyrics I really like from a band called Cold Cave)"

MACHINE HEAD: Adam Duce Has Left The Building - Official Statement Available!
Wow! Talk about a crazy week. Earlier this week, Dave Lombardo pretty much gets fired from SLAYER... and now this:
"Machine Head and bassist Adam Duce have parted ways. The split is amicable, and Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors. The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and have begun the writing process for their follow-up to 2011's 'Unto The Locust'. A late 2013 release is projected."
Duce was a founding member of the band and a pretty decent bass player. Whoever MACHINE HEAD chooses to replace him, has huge shoes to fill.
This is what Robb Flynn had to say about the bands NEW sonic assult: "Dave [McClain, drums], Phil [Demmel, guitar] and I practiced the other day and it was a really productive first jam session. McClain had about five rockin' riffs, Demmel brought in the skeleton of what feels like a great song and I had a few riffs that we rocked on, no full songs, but solid riffs. It felt good, good to be moving on from [2011's 'Unto The Locust']. Super proud of that record, but it's time to move on, and we're ready to move on. Bring on the future with an open embrace."

Listen To ANTHRAX's Cover Of AC/DC's "TNT"!
Anthems', Anthrax's long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of Anthrax's favorite bands from the 1970s, will be released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast). The track listing for 'Anthems' features Rush's "Anthem," Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak," "TNT" by AC/DC, Boston's "Smokin'," "Big Eyes" by Cheap Trick, Journey's "Keep on Runnin," as well as the album version and a special remix of Anthrax's "Crawl" from the band's critically-acclaimed 2011 album 'Worship Music'.
Right now, you can crank Anthrax's cover of AC/DC's song "TNT": http://loudwire.com/anthrax-cover-acdc-t-n-t-exclusive-song-premiere/
The EP will be available on CD as well as digitally via iTunes and other online retailers. In addition to the cover art for 'Anthems', Benante and artist Stephen Thompson have subtly redesigned each track's original album cover art to "Anthrax" it. The 'Anthems' EP will first be housed in one of the "re-imagined" digipak covers, and then inserted inside the main CD cover sleeve. The main cover sleeve has been designed in such a way so fans will be able to see which one of the six "re-imagined" covers is inside.
'Anthems' was produced by Anthrax, Jay Ruston and the bands former guitarist Rob Caggiano, and recorded for the most part throughout 2012 literally all over the world: at Benante's home studio, in Ruston's New York studio, on the band's tour bus while on last summer's Mayhem Tour, in hotel rooms, and backstage at their Berlin show last December.
The Grammy-nominated Anthrax - Belladonna/vocals, Benante/drums, Scott Ian/guitar and Frank Bello/bass - will hit the road in support 'Anthems' on February 16 with dates in India and Australia, and then return to North America to headline the Metal Alliance Tour that kicks off March 22 in California. For all of these dates, Anthrax will be joined by Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais.
Once again, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante is sitting out during his bands live performances. It has been confirmed that Benante did not travel with the band due to personal issues, Jon Dette (former SLAYER drummer) is replacing Benante during ANTHRAX's Australian tour. "Charlie is dealing with personal issues right now and can't leave the country", commented Scott Ian. "He's really bummed about not being able to head down there."
Additionally, the band will not be performing with guitarist Rob Caggiano, who left the band to join VOLBEAT (More info HERE)! He was temporarily replaced by Jon Donais from SHADOWS FALL.
Benante is expected to be back with ANTHRAX during this year's Metal Alliance tour, which they will be headlining (tour dates below).

SLAYER Releases A Very Vague Statement Regarding The Future Of Dave Lombardo In The Band
On Wednesday night, Dave Lombardo stated that he discovered that "90% of Slayer’s tour income was being deducted as expenses including the professional fees paid to management, costing the band millions of dollars and leaving 10% or less to split amongst the four of us. In my opinion, this is not the way a band’s business should operate. I tried rectifying it by letting my band mates know, and Tom and I hired auditors to figure out what happened, but I was denied access to detailed information and the necessary back up documents."
To this he added: "Last Monday, I sat down with Kerry and Tom to rehearse for Australia and to propose a new business model that I felt was the best way forward for Slayer to confidently protect itself so we could do what we do best . . . play for the fans. Kerry made it clear he wasn’t interested in making changes and said if I wanted to argue the point, he would find another drummer. On Thursday, I arrived at rehearsals at 1 pm as scheduled, but Kerry did not show. Rather, at 6:24 pm I received an email from the lawyers saying I was being replaced for the Australian dates." Read his full statement HERE!
Following Lombardo's statement, according to Metal Hammer the Slayer camp have posted the following statement:
“Slayer confirms that Jon Dette (Testament) will drum for the band on its Australian tour that starts this Saturday, February 23 in Brisbane. As regards Dave Lombardo’s Facebook post, Slayer does not agree with Mr. Lombardo’s substance or the timeline of the events, except to acknowledge that Mr. Lombardo came to the band less than a week before their scheduled departure for Australia to present an entirely new set of terms for his engagement that were contrary to those that had been previously agreed upon.
“The band was unable to reach an agreement on these new demands in the short amount of time available prior to leaving for Australia. There is more to the account than what Mr. Lombardo has offered, but out of respect to him, Slayer will not be commenting further. Slayer is grateful to its Australian fans for their understanding of this unfortunate last-minute change, and very much looks forward to seeing them at these shows.”
While there are two sides to every story, it seems like SLAYER fell ill with the BLACK SABBATH disease and are now dicking their drummer Dave Lombardo around. And as of right now, SLAYER only features two original members: Tom Araya (vocals, bass) and Kerry King (guitars).
The future of the band is indeed very opaque, since SLAYER fans don't like bullshit! Don't you wish we could rewind time and go back to the days in which the band had little money to fight about? We'll see what happens after the band returns from Australia, but it seems like Lombardo's chapter with SLAYER might be closed for good. But hey, is not like Lombardo will having any troubles landing a NEW gig.

SHADOWS FALL Forced To Cancel Their Upcoming European Tour!
Major bummer! Our friends from SHADOWS FALL have been forced to drop out from their upcoming tour with TESTAMENT and their co-headlining tour with Ill Niño. A statement from the band follows:
"Due
to a number of circumstances beyond our control, Shadows Fall has been
forced to cancel our upcoming European tour with Testament and our
co-headlining UK run with Ill Niño. We tried everything we could to make
this tour happen and exhausted all options we could think of but
unfortunately we were not able to work it out. We sincerely apologize to
all the fans, promoters and bands involved. Everyone in Shadows Fall
thank you for understanding and we plan on making it up to our European
fans as soon as possible."
UPDATE from Brian Fair: "There were many circumstances and not just Jon being with Anthrax. I have my first child on the way and originally this was only a short tour with Testament that due to financial reasons grew much longer to try and make it work. I had a lot of birthing classes and doctors appointments that my wife and I needed to attend and I didn't want to abandon her. Trust me. There were a lot more reasons this tour didn't happen. Don't just blame Jon when you don't know the entire story. That original post was never the whole story and was never suppose to be posted. We are really bummed out we couldn't make this tour happen. Too many obstacles both business wise and in our personal lives."
We will keep you posted as in when SHADOWS FALL will return to Europe.

EXODUS Banned By The Mickey Mouse Club (A.K.A. Disney)!
Just like it happened to MACHINE HEAD last year during their tour with DETHKLOK, ALL THAT REMAINS and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, Thrash Metallers EXODUS won't be permitted to perform at the Lake Buena Vista (House Of Blues) show in Orlando, Florida on April 12 as part of the METAL ALLIANCE Tour. A statement from the band follows:
“Because Disney has decided that Exodus is TOO METAL for them, we will NOT be playing the Lake Buena Vista [House Of Blues] show in Florida, but the fine thrash maniacs in Tampa have invited us to rage at the Orpheum instead,” says the band. “Who’s comin’ out for a 'Lesson in Violence'?”
