NYC Metallers HUNG To Demolish NEW ENGLAND Today!
New York City badasses HUNG are warming up as we speak for their second appearance at the NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL! Last year they appeared on the second stage... today at 2 PM they are ROCKING the MAIN STAGE!!!
In case you haven't heard their EPIC music: HUNG and Guitar World teamed up for the world premiere of "Progeny" off the upcoming self-titled debut out May 8th 2012 courtesy of The End Records and Chris Adler from Lamb of God’s label ReThink Records. The debut album features 10 punishing and sonically aesthetic tracks engineered and produced by Andy Abel and Lyris Hung at Abel Studios in Connecticut, with vocals tracked and produced by Ryan Kelly at MSR Studios and Nova Studios in New York City. Listen to "Progeny" below, courtesy of Guitar World.
HUNG violinist Lyris Hung says about "Progeny": “The song 'Progeny' is one of HUNG's most sonically diverse pieces, and one that shows off some of our most lyrical material. It's one of my personal favorites because it travels through many different musical landscapes… My approach to the violin lines are more traditional in a 'violinistic' way, allowing the instrument to take a lot of sweeping parts above the rest of the band and even the rhythm violin parts tend to be integrated with melody.”
HUNG is a five piece Metal band from New York City featuring Lyris Hung (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Bryan Adams) on violin, ‘Evil’ Jon Clark on guitar, bassist Sam Roon, drummer Kenny Grohowski and singer Dmitry Kostitsyn.

VISION OF DISORDER Are D O N E Tracking Comeback Album!
Headbangers! We just got word from VOD's own Tim Williams that the band has finished recording their fifth studio album. After 11 years of silence, it is safe to say that the NEW VOD album is one of the most anticipated albums of 2012. We can't wait! Can you?
"Before the word 'Metalcore' existed… VISION OF DISORDER did. We did what we did because we loved it, not because we thought others might. 20 years later, we're once again at work with the same approach.
"After a newly inked deal with Candlelight Records, we are about to begin tracking on our first studio album in a decade. We are bringing all the elements of what made us unique and ferocious to the table.
"Playing reunion shows over the past few years and seeing such positive responses has truly been inspirational.
"This album is absolutely dedicated to our fans that have stuck by us through our ups and downs. Without them, it would not have been."
As previously reported, Long Island Hardcore Metallers Vision Of Disorder inked a deal with Candlelight Records! The band entered the studio last month with producer Will Putney (SHADOWS FALL, SUICIDE SILENCE, FOUR YEAR STRONG) and have finished recording their highly anticipated NEW album for a late 2012 release. Cameron Webb (MOTÖRHEAD, SOCIAL DISTORTION, IGNITE, PENNYWISE) will mix the CD.
Stay tuned for more VOD news!

STRAIGHT LINE STITCH To Hit The Road; U.S. Tour Announced!
Knoxville, TN’s STRAIGHT LINE STITCH are thrilled to announce their upcoming full U.S. tour, kicking off next Tuesday, April 24th in Bowling Green, KY! Fresh off of their successful 2011 album, 'The Fight of Our Lives', the band hits the road again through the beginning of June. Joining them on the road is former STRAIGHT LINE STITCH guitarist Kris Norris (ex-Darkest Hour), back with the group for two months of shredding alongside Kris Hawkins. Up until the tour begins, STRAIGHT LINE STITCH will continue writing for their third album in which they hope to be in the studio for by the end of the year.
The band recently re-emerged as free agents looking for a NEW label home. “I think as a band we are looking forward mostly to just getting back to basics, and at the very heart of that is hitting the road and letting everyone know that STRAIGHT LINE STITCH is still going strong,” states frontwoman Alexis Brown. “There are some NEW faces in the mix but the feeling and the essence of the band is still the same, which is to go out and give it all we've got.”
Heavy Metal and hard Rock fans are a fickle and discerning bunch. Bands that attempt to make a career for themselves by trend jumping with half-hearted devotion do not last. STRAIGHT LINE STITCH has been steadily ascending the ranks of Metal and hard Rock through authentic and impassioned performances, an organic evolution of their writing and recording, and a tried and true road warrior mentality towards touring.
The band defined who they were early on in their career and held steadfast to their beliefs while making the natural progressions and growth of a committed touring band. While being genuine at the core of a band's being is an absolute necessity for credibility and longevity, it gets you nowhere fast if the songs do not matter. The SLS sound is commanding and universal, engaging casual fans of hard Rock and satiating the most stringent fans of Metal. The tenacious musicianship is on full display upon first listen, quickly establishing the virtue of the players. The balance between aggressive punch and highly charged hook goes a long way to explaining the wide and diverse range of devoted SLS loyalists. Whether sharing the stage with the titans of Metal like Slayer, or playing a coveted slot at the Punk driven Warped Tour, Straight Line Stitch captivates and levels all in attendance. Vocalist Alexis Brown is a blazing persona that demands the attention of a room. Throughout their songs, Alexis navigates a seamless shift from harrowing screams to heartfelt melody that adds depth and sincerity to their music. Her clean vocal parts never take a back seat to the punishing screams, as they are sung with an assertive power and spirit that soar mightily.

AUTOPSY To Return To New York City After Two Decades Of Silence!
Headbangers! We have great news for you! Death Metal icons AUTOPSY are returning to New York City after two decades of not taking over the city that never stops rocking. The Bay Area Metallers will be performing at the Bell House in Brooklyn on Friday, May 4th! Who is AUTOPSY?
AUTOPSY is one of the early breed of US Death Metal acts, and most respected names in the genre, AUTOPSY formed in 1987 in San Francisco, and released four albums on Peaceville Records - beginning with the classic debut 'Severed Survival' in 1989 - before disbanding in 1995 with members going on to form Abscess.
AUTOPSY triumphantly and officially returned from the grave after a 15-year hiatus with the 2010 EP, ‘The Tomb Within,’ delighting critics and fans alike. The band then released its fifth full length, and first since 1995, 'Macabre Eternal', in 2011 (one of SPIN's top metal albums of 2011). Autopsy's latest release, an epic 22-track collection of re-mastered classics and rarities, 'All Tomorrow's Funerals', hit stores earlier this year.
We will see you all in the pit!

"It is an incredible honor to be chosen as the NEW drummer for FEAR FACTORY! It's something I never would have dreamt of as a kid listening to 'Soul Of A New Machine' and 'Demanufacture' over and over again in middle school. I hope to continue their legacy, creating some of the most forward-thinking and innovative music available today." - Mike Heller

DICK CLARK, A Man Who Revolutionized The Music Industry, Dies At 82!
Today is a sad day in the entertainment world, media personality and businessman Dick Clark (A.K.A. The World's Oldest Teenager) died earlier today from a massive heart attack following a medical procedure. Our condolences go out to Clark's family, friends, and fans.
We all obviously know Dick Clark as the presenter and ambassador of ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ bash and we all know that New Year's won't be the same without watching and hearing Clark ringing in the NEW year with the entire American community.
However, for us in the music world Dick Clarke will always be remembered for being a Rock N' Roll pioneer. Clarke is to blame for bringing Rock music to the masses. Under Clarke's wing, the Philadelphia-based TV show ‘American Bandstand’ went national in 1957. The show immediately became a vehicle for Rock band to be exposed to a mass audience. Over the years, his guests ranged from early rockers like Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry in the 1950s to Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and even Christian band Stryper, in the ’80s.
There is no question that the TV show is a vital part of the history of Rock music as it showed parents what their kids were interested in and lifted some of the stigma that was originally associated with the genre. Thank you Mr. Clarke, and may your soul ROCK IN PEACE!

Former ANTHRAX Guitarist Dan Spitz's RED LAMB Release NEW Song ‘Puzzle Box’ to Boost Autism Awareness!
Advocates of Autism are in film (Holly Robinson Peete), sports (Dan Marino) and more, but a call to action is certainly necessary in the music community concerning the epidemic of Autism spreading to every neighborhood around the globe. We all need to bring awareness of recognizing the signs of Autism at an early age ourselves and act because there are no medical tests available to do so. The CDC just released NEW statistics stating that one in every 54th boy and one in every 88th child born will be Autistic.
RED LAMB and the song ‘Puzzle Box’ is a walk through the daily life of a family with identical mirror image twins who are both Autistic. It is a moving experience of reality that the Spitz family lives. The video is a short movie with statistical data, showing thousands of Autstic families, including the CEO's of AutismSpeaks.org (Suzanne and Bob Wright).
RED LAMB is here to bring the music community together on a permanent basis to bring this awareness globally through the wonderful avenue of music. The lyrics to "Puzzle Box" are co-written by Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) and Dan Spitz (Anthrax) whom both have acquired somewhere around 15 Grammy nominations, with additional performances by such artists as Grammy winner Chris Vrenna of Marilyn Manson as well as the entire CD Co-Produced by Dave Mustaine and Dan Spitz.
Check out this video by Metal Motivation featuring Dan Spitz with his wife and Autism Speaks spokesperson Candi Spitz discussing Autism during National Autism Awareness Month.
RED LAMB plans to give to and partner with www.autismspeaks.org through touring and many other areas. We would love for you to become a part of what RED LAMB is and our touring plans for the future.
