Black Skies Check In From The Road + Live Song Posted!

North Carolina power trio Black Skies have been ravaging the North American masses since November 14th on their 2011 Fall tour excursion in support of the recently unleashed "On The Wings Of Time" full-length.

The band checks in from the tour van:

"The tour is going great! We've played some of our favorite venues, hit some new ones and had a great first time playing Canada! The crowd, promoters and venues in Montreal and Toronto were very welcoming and we look forward to going back! We've been playing songs off our new record for the most part including a tune we hadn't really played out live before and a May Blitz cover on some nights. It's been a blast being back out. Our friends Make from Chapel Hill were on the first half of the tour with us. It's been great to share the stage with these guys every night. They're an excellent band, and good, fun people to hang with. We joined up with Vaz in Montreal for a string of dates. It's time to take over Easthampton, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Annandale!"

BLACK SKIES - Fall Tour 2011 [remaining dates]:

- 11/26/2011: Flywheel Arts Collective in Easthampton, MA**
- 11/27/2011: St. Vitus in Brooklyn, NY**
- 11/28/2011: JRs in Philadelphia, PA**

EYEHATEGOD Set To Destroy Brooklyn, NY With A Slew Of Special Guests!

Following the sonic devastation that was their performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest earlier this month, New Orleans' hardcore, blues-based, post-amplification, dirge-doers Eyehategod are set to destroy Brooklyn, NY!

Commented front-man Mike Williams on the next round of pummel: "Following an amazing dark and cloudy show at Austin's Fun Fun Fun fest, America's drunkest sweethearts will set off on yet another East Coast exploration and research field trip into the age old tradition of self-abuse."

EYEHATEGOD Tour Dates 2011/2012:

- 12/02/2011 Wonderland Ballroom (Formerly Club Lido): Boston, MA
- 12/03/2011 Jimmy's: Allentown, PA
- 12/04/2011 Europa: Brooklyn, NY w/ Doomriders, Hull, Knight Terror
- 01/21/2012 Sonar: Baltimore, MD w/ Integrity 9 (A389 Anniversary Show)
- 05/24/2012 Maryland Deathfest @ Sonar: Baltimore, MD

Eyehategod unleashed their Live DVD earlier this year via MVD. The 88-minute production features multi-camera footage from 2009 (Baltimore, MD) and 2010 (Cleveland, OH), with bonus clips from the last show of their 2010 European tour and videos never before released before on DVD. Commented popular Canadian web portal Hellbound in a recent review of the film: "Trust Eyehategod to put out a live DVD that looks like a fifth-generation VHS bootleg from 25 years ago. And bless ‘em for it. After all, the pure grit and amateurishness of the way the two live sets on Live are shot are far more appropriate for the New Orleans sludge legends than, say, a lavish light show, crane shots galore, and a five-channel surround mix. Nah, instead we’re privy to poorly lit, hand-held shots from various angles, most of which are right smack in the middle of the chaos the band is creating, and sound quality that’s muddy and distorted. It looks and sounds absolutely filthy, and it’s perfect." Added Cvlt Nation simply: "...a piece of Eyehategod cinematic history." A perfect dose of Black Flag meets Black Sabbath in ragged, live glory. Order your copy HERE where you'll also find a new selections of T-shirts and hoodies.

Bury Your Dead - Video Premiere Of 'The Sirens Of Titan'!

New England Metalcore masters Bury Your Dead released their latest album entitled "Mosh N' Roll" on August 2nd via Mediaskare Records. Metallica To Resurrect 'Black Album' This Summer On Select Tour-dates!

Metallica will perform the band's top-selling 1991 LP, "Metallica", A.K.A. "the black album," at the following European festival appearances next June.

- June 01: Nürnberg, Germany at Rock Im Park
- June 02: Nürburgring, Germany at Rock Am Ring
- June 09: Donington, England at Download
- June 10: Nickelsdorf, Austria at Nova Rock

More shows will be announced soon.

Here are some facts about "the Black Album":

- Metallica (also known as The Black Album) is the bands self-titled fifth studio album.

- "The Black Album" was produced by Bob Rock, and it was released on August 12, 1991 through Elektra Records to critical acclaim.

- The album produced six hit singles: "Enter Sandman", "Don't Tread on Me", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam", and "Sad but True".

This is what drummer Lars Ulrich told Kerrang! magazine, when asked why Metallica decided to do "the Black Album" at next years Download Festival.

"The people at Download asked. It wasn't our idea. The thing is, although we haven't played at Donington for six years, we have been to the U.K. pretty much every single summer since then." Ulrich added, "So they wanted us to do something different, and that's what they came up with. I quite like the fact that come next summer it'll be the 21st anniversary of the 'black album,' not the 20th."

Regarding if his him and band-mates would have to re-learn the two songs from the record — "Don't Tread On Me" and "The Struggle Within" — that Metallica has never played live before, Lars said,"Yeah. Although to be honest with you, a song like 'The Struggle Within' is a lot easier to re-learn than 'The Frayed Ends Of Sanity'. I don't think it's going to be too difficult for us to figure out these songs."

Track listing of "the Black Album":

- 1. "Enter Sandman"
- 2. "Sad but True"
- 3. "Holier Than Thou"
- 4. "The Unforgiven"
- 5. "Wherever I May Roam"
- 6. "Don't Tread on Me"
- 7. "Through the Never"
- 8. "Nothing Else Matters"
- 9. "Of Wolf and Man"
- 10. "The God That Failed"
- 11. "My Friend of Misery"
- 12. "The Struggle Within"

Chris Vrenna, the Grammy-award winning musician and producer who was most recently the drummer/keyboardist for Marilyn Manson, has left the band to focus on his growing film and video game scoring, production career and DJ outings as well as work on the forthcoming 2012 Tweaker release.

"I'm incredibly proud of the work I did with Manson and look forward to the release of Born Villain. I wish my brothers well but with the recording largely completed I felt it was time to return to other facets of my career which involves production work, film scoring, and future musical collaborations," explained Vrenna.

Vrenna rose to prominence in the early '90s as a full-time member of Nine Inch Nails, having been a permanent member of Trent Reznor's band since Nine Inch Nails' inception and for the following eight years. Defiler To Re-release Debut Album ‘Pangaea’ On CD Thanks To Stillborn Records!

In October 2010, after a few months living in the studio working on demos and recording, Castro Valley, California’s Defiler released their own debut album, "Pangaea", as a digital album only. Soon after, scraping together enough money from digital sales of "Pangaea", the band shot their first ever music video for ‘Cryomancer’. Shortly thereafter, Defiler vocalist Jake Pelzl and Jasta started working together on re-issuing "PANGAEA" as a physical CD for the first time ever.  Due to popular demand, Stillborn Records is now fast tracking the re-issue of "PANGAEA" and making it available for a limited time as a CD/T-shirt bundle.

Defiler recently signed a new record deal (with a new label home) with additional details are set to be announced shortly. The band and is currently hard at work on the follow up to "Pangaea" with an expected first quarter 2012 release.

5 Metallic Tips For Thanksgiving!

We want to wish all of the U.S. headbangers a safe and Metallic Thanksgiving week! Please be safe!

Now, here are 5 tips that will make your Thanksgiving a lot more Metal!

1) If you are hunting down your own turkey, which we assume you all are, bring a bowl of corn in order to attract the turkey. Make sure the corn is dipped into any kind of alcoholic drink, this way the turkey will die nice and drunk. This will result in a happier and healthier turkey. You will thank us once you devour that animal!

2) If you are going to say grace before chow time, make sure you crank up Lamb Of God's song "Grace", since you want to make sure your food is blessed by the Metal Gods and/or Satan!

3) Planning on drinking responsibly? Blacktooths are perfect to drink both before and after the meal of the year! Here are the ingredients you need to make a proper blacktooth:

- Bottle of Crown Royal or Seagrams 7
- Bottle of Coca Cola
- Pantera shot glasses

Serve the whiskey into the shot glass (don't spill it you slob), then add a SPLASH of Coke into the whiskey. Finally, put back the entire shot in the name of Dimebag!

4) Drive safely! Thanksgiving week has the highest percentage of car accidents in the year. So please make sure you give yourself enough time to get to your destination, drive within the speed limit, and don't even think about drinking and driving!

Suggested bands to be crank up while driving:

- Black Sabbath
- Pantera
- Slayer
- Motorhead
- Machine Head
- Meshuggah

5) Eat a lot of protein to strengthen your body for the next show you attend, if you eat too many carbs (which you probably will), you will most likely get destroyed the next time you get in the pit. Thanksgiving doesn't HAVE to be a pig-out!

Heavy thanksgiving, from your friends at Horns Up Rocks!!!

In case you haven't heard of Retox, according to them "all that matters in the grand scheme of things is the band is not directly comparable to what has come before them. Panzie Discuss NEW Album 'Love & Blood', Occupy Wall Street & Musical Formula!

The ear drums of the world haven't found their safe haven ever since New York City Rock band Panzie, began delivering a blend of unique sounds that start grooving your soul from the get-go. Panzie recently released their first full length album entitled "Love & Blood", and the results have over-exceeded all expectations! Produced by Stacy O'Dell, the album possesses the raw energy that Panzie is famous for, along with an unorthodox musical style. In times in which too many bands lack a signature sound, it is refreshing to hear a record full of original and memorable musical passages. "Love & Blood" takes the listener through a musical joyride that is both bitter and sweet.

Right after they presented "Love & Blood" to the masses at Mercury Lounge in New York City through an excellent live performance, we kidnapped the band and interviewed them about their new album. During the chat, we also discussed the Occupy Wall Street movement and Panzie's musical formula. Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seat-belts! And start your rocking engines!

Prong Enters Studio To Record NEW Album!

Fresh from inking with SPV/Long Branch Records, Metal innovators Prong have entered the studio with producer Steve Evetts. Evetts' recent work includes the likes of Dillinger Escape Plan and Suicide Silence.

"He understands Prong in a way no other producer we've ever worked with has," says Prong guitarist, vocalist and mainstay Tommy Victor on the choice of producer. "We have a lot of history and have always evolved as a band. The goal for all of us was to take all of that and make a definitive Prong album," Victor continues.

In the meantime, Prong has been featured in Decibel magazine Thrash Metal Hall of Fame special issue in an article detailing the making of 1990's benchmark album "Beg To Differ". Spin Magazine best summed up that era of Prong's evolution as "crafted in an alternative universe where Alain Jourgensen - not Dave Mustaine - is the incorrigible charter member of a pre-Metallica world." Avant-Garde Black Metallers FORMLOFF To Release NEW Record!

Five years after the release of the avant-garde Metal piece "Adjø Silo", Norway's FORMLOFF return with a new dark Black Metal piece.

Titled "Spyhorelandet", the record is set for release via Eisenwald in January 2012. Finding progression in regression, FORMLOFF have crafted an album closer to the sound of their first demo, "Overstyring". Darker and more atmospheric than ever before, the FORMLOFF duo -- Bernt Karsten Sannerud and Marius Sjøli -- also recruited several session musicians to compete the recording lineup, including two bass players, a drummer and a saxophonist.

Where most Black Metal revels in stories of fictional deities, benign and malignant, "Spyhorelandet" wallows in everyday themes. Much like the cover art (to be revealed soon), the music contained within bears forth the naked truth. When you peel back the skin, no matter how beautiful, what is left is the ugly personal histories each of us carries. Throughout "Spyhorelandet", naked inhabitants of our world are quoted directly. For many of whom, defeat is their best and sometimes only asset.

Two sample tracks from the record can be heard below. Stay tuned for more info on FORMLOFF in the coming weeks.

Ministry Announce Release Date For 'Relapse' + Studio Report Available On Video!

Ministry is without a doubt the band to blame for the rise of Industrial Metal in the early 80s. The band was formed in 1981 in Chicago, Illinois by singer Al Jourgensen. In 2008, after 17 years of musical madness, Ministry decided to call it quits and were joined by Swedish Metal machines Meshuggah for a North American farewell tour.

After only three years apart, the band decided to reunite and have already announced some US dates for 2012 (tourdates below)! They have also announced that they will be performing at these years edition of "Wacken Open Air" in Wacken, German (August 2-4, 2012). Now, Ministry has announced that they are unleashing their 12th studio album, "Relapse", on March 30, 2012, via Al Jourgensen's (singer) Planet Records. Here is what Jourgensen told Metal Hammer magazine about the reformation of Ministry.

"While I was working on the Buck Satan record, me and Mike Scaccia from Rigor Mortis fucked around to pass the time and we had like, 5,6,7 songs and I didn't really want to do anything with them but Mikey was like, 'Dude, these songs are awesome.' They weren't country, they were more like Ministry. So he's coming by in September and guitarist Tommy Victor from Prong is coming by in October with bassist Tony Campos from Soulfly (ex-Static X) and we're gonna finish up another Ministry album by Christmas called 'Relapse'.

"We've only got five songs to go. I've been listening to it the last couple of weeks and I wasn't really in the mood, I was just taking it as a joke. Just to pass the time at first but Mikey's raving about it. It's like, dude c'mon, this is not about Bush, so… that parts over. The ulcers are gone and Bush is gone so it's time for something new. I think this is actually gonna wind up being the fastest and heaviest record I've ever done. Just because we did it as anti-therapy, therapy against the country music we would just take days off and thrash faster than I've done in a long time, faster than Mikey's done in a long time. He just did a Rigor Mortis tour and said it was easy compared to this Ministry stuff so it's gonna be brutal and it's gonna freak a lot of people out."

US Tour-dates:

- June 17, 2012 Denver Ogden Theatre
- June 21, 2012 Los Angeles Club Nokia
- June 23, 2012 New York Best Buy Theater

Five Finger Death Punch Reveal Alternative Cover For 'American Capitalist'

Five Finger Death Punch have already made headlines with one of the year’s biggest Rock album debuts. 'American Capitalist' entered at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 in early October and has already sold over 165,000 copies in just a few weeks. Fans can purchase the album on iTunes (link below). Now, less than two months after the release of the record they’ve got some more news.

Starting this Tuesday, November 22nd, fans will be able to get the brand new cover art for 5FDP’s current album. It features an illustration of the band’s ubiquitous “mascot,” Knucklehead over the backdrop of Time Square in New York City.

“We are the people’s band, and a lot of fans really liked this alternative artwork we had on the tour posters. So many times we heard, "THAT should be the album cover" – so we figured we’d make it happen,” explains Bathory. “If you like the original cover, that’s cool too - I guess the original will be somewhat of a limited item from now on, so there you go.”

The new Knucklehead illustration will only be replacing the regular edition album version of 'American Capitalist', while the deluxe edition artwork will remain the same.

5FDP are still out on the road on their headlining "Share the Welt Tour" with All That Remains, Hatebreed, and Rains. The tour has been a massive hit, selling out most venues along the way - getting rave reviews for its solid line up and over-the-top visuals.

Jessica Mero, Head of Marketing at Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee relates. “5FDP's show was an intense Metal spectacle - a perfect show by a great Rock band! Over 4,000 frenzied fans filled the venue and we had to turn away hundreds who showed up too late to buy their tickets at the door.”

5FDP recently released their second single from American Capitalist, "Remember Everything," which is rapidly shooting up the Active Rock charts. Fans can listen to a stream of "Remember Everything" here.
