"Nergal" Meets His Bone Marrow Donor; BEHEMOTH To Begin Recording NEW Album In February!

Last years comeback of the year in Heavy Music, was witnessed by the headbanging community when Adam "Nergal" Darski from BEHEMOTH returned to the musical spectrum after battling with Cancer. "Nergal" had been diagnosed with Leukemia on August 8, 2010, and in an unprecedented move his fans united in order to find him a match that could donate some bone marrow in order for Nergal to be able to get a bone marrow transplant. Following the chemo therapy, and the bone marrow transplant, today Nergal is cancer free!

Earlier today, BEHEMOTH's guitarist/vocalist  met the fan that saved his life! Watch video of this beautiful moment HERE!

Our good friend Metal Mark from Skull N' Bones,  recently spoke with "Nergal" while on board Barge To Hell — the world's most extreme Metal cruise — which sailed Monday, December 3, 2012 from Miami, Florida to Nassau, Bahamas and returned to the real world on Friday, December 7. Here is what "Nergal" had to say about the bands NEW record:

"We're in writing mode, and we're doing this [cruise] more or less as a vacation, js tto get us out of the writing [environment]. But even yesterday, before the show, I was fucking around with my guitar and jamming out and shit. I came up with… I really think this riff is gonna end up on the record; it's gonna make its way to the record. So I'm really thinking about my record. I'm dreaming my record, I'm eating my record, I'm shitting my record… I mean, everything just comes to the same thing: this artistic release that's gonna take place in the fall next year. That's the plan. We already made a rough plan. We should be entering the studio in late February. We're demoing stuff now. It's actually a rehearsal studio. So this is a thing we've never done before: we get into the studio, we set up the equipment, and we just play. And we record stuff. So it's very creative. It's new and it's different energy, too. I mean, we still use our rehearsal room, but it's good to change the environment. And then in January and February, we decided to move to Warsaw to work on the record. It should be very stimulating; this change of rooms and change of cities, it can be very stimulating. But we've got plenty of stuff written already; I'm guessing 30 or 40 minutes of music is done. But I keep on writing. I'm so hyped and I'm so into delivering new stuff. I have this thought: every time I come up with a new theme or a new song idea, I think it's actually better than the one before. So I hope that this process stops at a certain point and I'm, like, 'OK, over. This is it. We're working on this bunch of songs and that's it.' Because this way I can go on forever."

Recently, it was reported that Poland's finest Heavy Metal export BEHEMOTH had lined up multifaceted producer Ross Robinson to work on the bands 10th studio album. While both the band and Robinson have been hinting that they might be working together, Robinson recently dismantled the rumor via his Twitter account.

As previously announced, BEHEMOTH's Adam "Nergal" Darski, leader of Polish Metallers BEHEMOTH will be releasing his autobiography, "Sacrum Profanum", in Poland on October 17. The book was described by Nergal as "a really long in-depth interview". It will initially only be made available in Polish, but "depending on interest, we might be translating this into English," he said.

In addition to publishing the book, Nergal will be working with Polish producers Grupa 13, with whom he had previously collaborated on the BEHEMOTH videos "At The Left Hand Ov God" and "Ov Fire And The Void", on several promotional clips. The first one is available below.

"We're shooting some trailers to support it," Nergal said. "The episodes will be little portraits of certain chapters of the book."

The "Sacrum Profanum" cover photo was taken by Ivo Ledwozyw, with post-production by Seth Siro Anton (PARADISE LOST, KAMELOT, MOONSPELL, SOILWORK, EXODUS, JOB FOR A COWBOY, DECAPITATED, VADER).

BEHEMOTH To Begin Rehearsals For NEW Album; Nergal Announces Demon Energy Drink Endorsement To Collect Funds For Cancer!

There continues to be more great news from the BEHEMOTH camp. The band has announced that they will begin rehearsals for their next album in September, following their performances at several European festivals over the next two weeks (details below). Additionally, the band will embark on a tour of Eastern Europe in the fall.

In other BEHEMOTH news, Nergal is proud to announce that he will be endorsing Demon Energy Drink. As in every project Nergal approaches, this will be on his own terms: a portion of the proceeds will benefit the DKMS foundation. The DKMS foundation raises awareness and funds to benefit those diagnoses with various forms of blood cancer. Nergal comments on endorsing Demon Energy Drink: "Well, I decided to accept the offer to be a face of this energy drink called Demon. The percentage of sales will be donated to the foundation and will make this whole business worthwhile for me. Besides, I loved the name and a logo…so why the fuck not?"

Adam "Nergal" Darski: "This is the stuff that should be on the next BEHEMOTH record."

Recently, Turbo from RSU Radio and the Metal Meltdown, conducted an interview with BEHEMOTH's Adam "Nergal" Darski! The interview with the captain of Poland's finest extreme Metal export took place in Oklahoma City during the "Decibel Magazine Tour" with Watain, The Devil's Blood and In Solitude. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

When asked how long fans will have to wait for a new Behemoth studio album, Nergal said, "I've got plenty of stuff written down - not completely finished lyrics, but a lot of ideas and verses here and there and some choruses here and there. It's a slow process. I'm screwing around with some riffs here and there at the backstage of the venue or the back lounge [of the bus], I'm just jamming out. I think there's plenty of ideas, but sometimes it takes me weeks to realize or to come up with something that I consider, myself, 'Wow, this is it. This is the stuff that should be on the next Behemoth record.' It looks like, with the tenth record, it's worse and worse for me to come up with something I will feel that is great.   

"I've always said that... Right now we're good musicians, and we could easily fabricate anything. Metal Blade would have the record f--king in three months - if we want that - but it wouldn't be honest. It wouldn't be 'us.' I just tear out a piece of my heart and soul and my skin and I just fucking put it into my art. Otherwise it makes no sense to me. So this process sometimes takes time and energy and experience, and I'm collecting these experiences by now. But you can be sure that the next Behemoth album is coming out next year; that's for sure. I just can't say if it's before or after summer, but we [will] start working [on it] intensively this summer."

Swedish Black Metallers WATAIN Unveil NEW DVD Trailer

Swedish Black Metal collective WATAIN today offer up the second in a series of trailers from their upcoming 'Opus Diaboli' anniversary DVD. The production commemorates the band’s 13 years of chaos by providing a visual and audio documentation of their ceremonial anniversary concert performance in Stockholm and the long years of physical, intellectual and spiritual work leading up to it. 'Opus Diaboli' is an epic 90-minute journey into the forbidden realms of wild-hearted Satanic Metal and the manifestation of a unique band that has truly chosen a path few have ever dared to tread upon. In addition, 'Opus Diaboli' marks the the first release on WATAIN’s own label His Master’s Noise, a name originating from Bathory who had it in mind for their own label back in the early 1980s. 'Opus Diaboli' will be unleashed in North America on June 5, 2012.

Decibel Magazine's tour issue (May 2012) is available on newsstands now. The cover story features in-depth interviews with members of Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude. The interviews cover everything from playing shows in the US to twisted and amusing anecdotes from the bands' past tour experiences. Comments the band in a collective statement: “This movie was first meant to be the recording of our 13-year anniversary concert, but as everything with WATAIN, it took on a life of its own and become one of our most ambitious projects to date. It is a very personal and emotional piece of work and is certainly not for the faint of heart. But for those who wish to explore the glimmering abyss of WATAIN further, this will be a rewarding release for sure. The box version of 'Opus Diaboli' [available exclusively through the band’s own WOLFWEAR.NET] contains an exclusive photobook. It was an overwhelming experience going through the massive archives in search of photos that best sum up the storm of passionate turmoil that has marked the WATAIN journey, especially since we wanted to stay away from live photos and focus more on moments off stage. The Decibel Magazine Tour In Columbus, OH Moved To NEW Location Due To Religious Beliefs - Statement From Nergal Available!

The highly anticipated inaugural Decibel Magazine tour kicks off in a mere eight days in Columbus, OH. It wasn't too late, however, for the venue owners to prohibit the bands from appearing at The Brewmaster's Gate. Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood, and In Solitude are being forbidden from playing at the venue because of religious conflicts with the venue owners. These bands are no strangers to this type of treatment, and a NEW venue has already been confirmed. The Columbus, OH show will now be at Al Rosa. Tickets for this show are still available and can be purchased HERE.

Behemoth's front man, Nergal, comments further: "Wow, big motherfuckin' WOW! We are facing a legendary moment: Amerika, the land of the free, is banning Behemoth coz of religious beliefs. The madness starts in Ohio, but of korz we are playing anyway. Nothing can stop us now. God, please save me from this freedom…"

Behemoth will be returning to North America for the first time since 2010 for the highly anticipated Decibel Magazine Tour this April and May. Along with live performance, it has now been confirmed that Behemoth will be holding three in-store appearances throughout the tour! Fans in Salt Lake City, UT, Charlotte, NC, and Philadelphia, PA will have the opportunity to meet the band, purchase albums, and get items signed! BEHEMOTH Will Begin Crushing North America On April 11th In Columbus, Ohio - Are You Ready?

With one of the most satanic line ups this year, Polish Blackened Death Metal lords BEHEMOTH, along with special guests WATAIN, THE DEVILS BLOOD and IN SOLITUDE will launch the 2012 Decibel Magazine Tour at The Brewmaster's Gate in Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, April 11th. "Nergal" Talks About The Return Of BEHEMOTH; Band Nominated For Revolver Golden Gods Award!

Behemoth is twelve shows into their European tour now alongside with Cannibal Corpse, Legion Of The Damned, Misery Index, Suicide Silence and Nexus Inferi. Nergal has just sent us his thoughts on shows Behemoth have played so far…

"We are in the middle of this tour and on behalf of the band I must state that's probably the best European run we've done ever! And it's not just courtesy but a fact. Never seen European venues so crowded and enthusiastically reacting to our show. I know, we've been away for a while, the band's future was a big question mark and if you ask me, I have to say I was seriously worried If I can pull it off at all. Now I can finally admit: Fuck yes! I can still get my ass on stage and give my blood, sweat and heart to the people who truly deserve that. These "return" shows have some transcendental touch to it and I can't get rid of the feeling, it's a NEW life injected in band's veins. I am proud. Of my band, myself and all the fans coming to the shows. Thank you. Stay strong and see you soon!"
