Riki Rachtman Comments On The 20 Year Anniversary Of MEGADETH's 'Countdown to Extinction'
As we all know, or should know, MEGADETH is celebrating 20 years since the release of their 'Countdown To Extinction' album while on a worldwide tour. The celebration of the recording of their groundbreaking album continues!
Former MTV Headbangers Ball host Riki Rachtman commented on the bands accomplishment:
"20 year anniversary of Megadeths Countdown to Extinction... The feud I had with Dave on MTV was one of the best (video available below). Of course we really did get along real well. Used to skydive together. BUT Last time I saw him he was a total dick. Bummed me out. Ya know how good a band Megadeth is. So good that even though Dave was an asshole last time I saw him I can still listen to the old records because they are just that fkn good!"
Video footage of MEGADETH's historic "Countdown To Extinction" performance in Bogota, Colombia can be seen below.

The End Of Roadrunner Records? Label President For 12 Years Steps Down - Open Letter Available!
This just in, Jonas Nachsin, president of Roadrunner Records for over 10 years has stepped down from this job title. Nachsin announced that he is leaving the label after working there for over 20 years. There is no word yet as far as who will replace him, but according to Billboard.biz the new leadership should be announced withing days.
Here is Nachsin's exit letter to his staff, courtesy of Billboard:
"I am so proud of what we have accomplished to showcase Roadrunner as not only a 'record company' but as a lifestyle and cultural beacon for fans around the globe," Nachsin wrote. "The chemistry of groundbreaking artists worked by a world-class group of truly committed employees has made Roadrunner a name with no equal over the years. That will continue." He closed by thanking "the great team here much success as they move forward into a new chapter for Roadrunner."
His memo was followed by one from Atlantic co-chairmen Craig Kallman and Julie Greenwald, thanking him for his substantial contributions and years of dedication.
"For two decades, Jonas has been a passionate champion of Roadrunner's incredible roster of artists and helped forge the unique identity of one of the world's great labels," the memo reads in part. "Everyone who has worked with Jonas -- including artists, managers, the Roadrunner team and the wider Warner Music family -- have all been touched by his commitment and leadership. He has been instrumental in the careers of so many extraordinary artists, from superstars including Nickelback and Slipknot to breaking talents Young the Giant and Stone Sour. We will all miss Jonas and wish him the best in his next endeavor."
Roadrunner is expected to continue as a Hard Rock brand, but now the question is who will have the stewardship of the label. Read more HERE!
As previously reported, ROADRUNNER RECORDS has closed their UK and Canadian offices. Apparently, their German office will face the same destiny. Regarding their U.S. team, some of their top staff members have been dismissed but the U.S. office will remain open. One of the RR workers who we was let go was Monte Conner, the companies Senior Vice President of A&R. A man who single handily shaped the sound of 90's Heavy Music.

MÖTLEY CRÜE Have No Plans Of Releasing A NEW Album This Year
MÖTLEY CRÜE recently released a brand NEW song called "Sex" to coincide with the launch of the band's North American co-headlining tour with KISS. But CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx tells Billboard.com that there are currently no plans for the group to record a full album's worth of material.
"It takes time to put together music," Sixx said. "Right now we're just writing music. There's tons of material always there — there's riffs for days, ideas, choruses here, verses there. For us, it's how many songs have we written (and) how many do we love and what do we want to do with them? It's about finding the time to go home, be off the road, get everybody in a room and start riffing and see where it does."
Written when the band was together during their residency in Las Vegas last February, "Sex" was the first studio track from the CRÜE since their June 2008 release of "Saints Of Los Angeles".
"We happened to have this song everyone was really excited about, so instead of saying, 'Let's add it to the pile of songs we have and we'll sort 'em out later,' we were, 'Hey, let's finish this one up,'" Sixx told Billboard.com. "We got it out there for the fans, for the tour, and it's exciting for the band to play something new. We love the classics and the hits, and I know the fans love that, too, but to be able to play something new is great.
"We wanted to save that big push for when we do (an album)," he added, "but the way the song is connecting with people feels like the way the music used to connect with people when we were a baby band and just had our first record out. The song really seems to work."
As previously reported, Vince Neil recently flipped out on camera after parking attendants refused to give him his Rolls Royce back. HERE is more on this story!
