COAL CHAMBER Confirms North American Tour With LACUNA COIL & SEVENDUST!

Marking their first U.S. live performances in over 10 years, 90’s alt-metal band COAL CHAMBER is pleased to announce that they are back in action and kicking off a co-headline tour with Sevendust this spring. The tour will also feature special guests Lacuna Coil as direct support on each date, as well as Candlelight Red and Stolen Babies opening on either half of the run (see the split below). See below for a full listing of North American tour dates.

Each member of COAL CHAMBER had words to share about the announcement.

“I'm STOKED to be bringing COAL CHAMBER back to the United States,” exclaims vocalist Dez Fafara. “These shows are going to fucking rule! The line-up is perfect! Hope to see you all there!”

“The past has fuelled the fire to bring COAL CHAMBER back stronger than ever,” adds drummer Mike Cox. “I couldn’t be more excited to tour the states on an amazing tour. HERE WE GO!”

“I’m really excited and grateful to be a part of such an awesome bill! We will be slaying it across America and the world,” adds guitarist Meegs Rascón.

Bassist Chela Rhea Harper states, “America is where COAL CHAMBER started; where the music first came to life. The entire experience in Australia and South America has been so surreal up until this point, and to be able to continue this adventure on the band's home soil is an honor. The support from all has been tremendous.”

COAL CHAMBER To Join Forces With Their Former "Enemies" In SEVENDUST?

Late last year, SEVENDUST guitarist Cling Lowery announced that SEVENDUST were might be joining forces with COAL CHAMBER for a massive tour!

Well, according to Blabbermouth, COAL CHAMBER and SEVENDUST will be teaming up for a U.S. co-headlining tour this April. Thus far, only one date has been revealed: April 4 at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In 2003, the two bands engaged in a well-publicized feud and even SEVENDUST dedicated their single "Enemy" to COAL CHAMBER's very own Dez Farara. Morgan Rose from SEVENDUST told Tacoma, Washington's The News Tribune at the time about the war of words:

"It's been pretty humorous, actually, because, to be honest, [Dez is] not really someone who's important to society. So it's not like I'm talking about anyone that many people really know about." He continued: "COAL CHAMBER was a really popular band. Now they're not a band anymore, and my [then-]wife [bassist Rayna Foss] was probably the most popular member. The irony of this whole thing was I didn't want to give him any press. ... It was laid out on a press release that I kind of got tricked into. I wanted it to be a more universal song. A lot of people have people they don't like, that treat people that they care about with no respect. [My wife is] the reason I was mad at him in the first place. He treated her awful, while she was pregnant with my daughter inside of her. He was completely stressing her out and making her upset."

In a recent interview with Revolver, guitarist John Connolly described the new music as having “a darker vibe… but there’s still plenty of melody. It fits right in with 'ANIMOSITY', 'ALPHA' and our self-titled album. Lots of heavy stuff and some more mellow moody songs as well.” As guitarist Clint Lowery proclaims in Guitar World, “There’s a dark turn to the whole thing… in a lot of ways, it’s your typical SEVENDUST record.” The magazine goes on to declare that 'BLACK OUT THE SUN' “will eclipse its predecessors with its southern-rock brutality and bursts of industrial and reggae.”

'BLACK OUT THE SUN' is the follow-up to 'COLD DAY MEMORY', which was released April 20, 2010 and debuted at #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, the highest debut of the bands' storied 8 studio album, 15 year career. Along with it being SEVENDUST's highest charting debut ever, the album's first single, "Unraveling,” set a debut milestone as well. It entered the BDS Active Rock radio chart higher than any other SEVENDUST track. It surpassed 2003's "Enemy," which wound up peaking at #6 and is currently their highest charting song to date. At radio, "Unraveling" is the most well received SEVENDUST song ever.

SEVENDUST Breaks The Silence & Announce Their NEW Album Title!

As previously reported, Atlanta, Georgia's SEVENDUST has completed production of their ninth studio album. The CD was recorded at Architekt Music studios in Butler, New Jersey with engineer Mike Ferretti. Today, the band has announced that their NEW studio album is called "Black Out The Sun" and they plan to release it in April of 2013. Here is what guitarist Clint Lowery told "Source Of The Sound With Wendy Campbell" about the bands NEW album:

"It's a basic SEVENDUST record. There's nothing, like, too completely different than anything we've done before. It's got a darker vibe to it. We've got a good amount of the programming element in there. It's a lot of what we do — it's heavy and it's got its melodic element in it. So if you're a SEVENDUST fan, it's more along the lines of the second and third records we did — it's kind of like that. It's got a couple of throwback vibes to it. 'Animosity' [2002] and 'Home' [1999], if I can put those two records together, it would [sound similar to the new CD]."

Lowery has also announced that SEVENDUST might be joining forces with LACUNA COIL and COAL CHAMBER in 2013!

SEVENDUST Wrap Production Of Their Ninth Studio Album!

Great news! Atlanta, Georgia's SEVENDUST has completed production of their ninth studio album and plan on releasing their NEW batch of songs in early 2013. The CD was recorded at Architekt Music studios in Butler, New Jersey with engineer Mike Ferretti.

SEVENDUST's effort is entitled 'Cold Day Memory' and has sold around 27,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.

This past Sunday, October 7th, SEVENDUST invited 107 of their closest friends and supporters for a very special private showcase of their NEW album. No camera's were allowed, but our good friend Jose Mangin from Sirius XM twitted "WOW 107 of us lucky ass @Sevendust fans just heard their NEW album & we're stunned w @melissammangin @TheKaylaRiley @ShannonGunz- Butler NJ!"

SEVENDUST Members Begin Working On NEW Project CALL ME NO ONE - Video Update Available!

Clint Lowery and Morgan Rose from SEVENDUST, entered the studio on January 22nd to start working on a NEW project called Call Me No One. The debut album from the drummer and guitarist from SEVENDUST, is set for a tentative May release.

Lowery recently stated via Twitter that he is "very excited" about the NEW collaboration, while Rose added that Call Me No One will "absolutely" be touring in support of the forthcoming CD.

In other SEVENDUST news, the band is not scheduled to begin writing material for its NEW album until June, leaving time for Call Me No One to get the project released and to bring their NEW music to the masses.
