NEW DARKTHRONE Song "Leave No Cross Unturned" Available For Streaming!
Norwegian legend, Darkthrone, have a NEW album entitled 'The Underground Resistances' set for release via Peaceville Records on February 26th.
'The Underground Resistance' is Darkthrone's latest venture through the Metal cosmos, and first NEW album since the 2010 opus 'Circle the Wagons'. 'The Underground Resistance' contains Darkthrone's trademark masterful riffing in a broad range of styles, effortlessly bounding through the annals of classic Metal, taking in Thrash, Speed and Black Metal, and not forgetting a dose of Punk. All in all a ferocious and dynamic set of tracks drenched in Fenriz's and Nocturno's rich and diverse tastes in all things metal, primarily those rooted firmly in the spirit of the 80's. Six tracks long, and each one an epic in itself, this is undoubtedly Darkthrone's strongest outing of late.
Here is a little taste of what you can expect. This song is called "Leave No Cross Unturned":
'The Underground Resistance' was written and recorded spring 2010 to summer 2012 at Necrohell 2 studios by the band themselves. The album was mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door in Texas. Cover artwork also comes courtesy of the iconic and celebrated artist Jim Fitzpatrick (see above).
Commented Fenriz, "Three songs each, Ted's are flown from the universe of metal with his strongest voice ever so far. Songs of mine are torn from the wombs of the riders of rohan of Metal, safely cradled in 1985 style."
Darkthrone began life in the late 80's as a Thrash/Death metal act and progressed through technical Death/Doom Metal experimentation to become a legend of the Black Metal world and one of the original leading bands of the Norwegian scene, as well as inspiring a whole generation of Metal bands.

ENSLAVED Ink Deal With Nuclear Blast Records - Official Statement Available!
Nuclear Blast is proud to announce the addition of Norwegian progressive/psychedelic Black Metal band ENSLAVED to their worldwide roster. After two successful campaigns in North America with Nuclear Blast USA (via exclusive license from Norway’s Indie Recordings) for their past two albums, 2008’s 'Vertebrae' and 2010’s 'Axioma Ethica Odini', ENSLAVED have signed a worldwide deal. Here is what the band had to say about this:
“We’re very, very (yes, very) pleased and proud to sign this deal with Nuclear Blast worldwide. We’ve already worked with Nuclear Blast US through our two latest albums and our personal friendships with NB guys and gals on both sides of the Atlantic are even older. There’s no drama – we take great pride in the fact that there seldom is with us; it is simply a matter of one contract ending and us going for what seems to be our best option at this point in time and space. This time, the best choice for ENSLAVED is changing things up somewhat. We’re excited to see what the mixture of passion and professionalism at Nuclear Blast can do with the ENSLAVED name in the years to come. There is no doubt that the level of ambition, the experience and seriousness about what we do form perfect common ground for ENSLAVED and Nuclear Blast. We’re in the process of making a new album that will initiate our new partnership. Watch out for the approaching wave of news about that. For now, let’s just say that the album will be an absolute (Nuclear) blast!”
Gerardo Martínez, Label Manager for Nuclear Blast USA, adds:
“ENSLAVED is one of the most amazing bands to ever come from Norway. We’ve had the pleasure of working with them on their last two albums in North America, and from this day forth, worldwide. Looking forward their new masterpiece to be unleashed to the masses later in the year!”
ENSLAVED’s NEW album will be released this fall.

Avant-Garde Black Metallers FORMLOFF To Release NEW Record!
Five years after the release of the avant-garde Metal piece "Adjø Silo", Norway's FORMLOFF return with a new dark Black Metal piece.
Titled "Spyhorelandet", the record is set for release via Eisenwald in January 2012. Finding progression in regression, FORMLOFF have crafted an album closer to the sound of their first demo, "Overstyring". Darker and more atmospheric than ever before, the FORMLOFF duo -- Bernt Karsten Sannerud and Marius Sjøli -- also recruited several session musicians to compete the recording lineup, including two bass players, a drummer and a saxophonist.
Where most Black Metal revels in stories of fictional deities, benign and malignant, "Spyhorelandet" wallows in everyday themes. Much like the cover art (to be revealed soon), the music contained within bears forth the naked truth. When you peel back the skin, no matter how beautiful, what is left is the ugly personal histories each of us carries. Throughout "Spyhorelandet", naked inhabitants of our world are quoted directly. For many of whom, defeat is their best and sometimes only asset.
Two sample tracks from the record can be heard below. Stay tuned for more info on FORMLOFF in the coming weeks.

VREID Issue Tour Update Regarding the "Black Path of America Tour"!
It seems like Norwegian Black Metallers, VREID, brought chaotic weather that can only be matched by their insane blend of ass-kicking music! The band kicked off the Black Path Of America Tour 2011 last week in Toronto accompanied by a series of weather calamities and one canceled show in New York City thanks to Hurricane Irene.
"Our North America tour has been filled with action so far. An earthquake upon arrival, tornadoes as we entered Toronto and then Irene came and shut down our New York show. Mother earth has unleashed her wrath upon us this time around. We are extremely disappointed that our New York show got canceled, but be sure that VREID will return. We kicked ass in Toronto and had a great show; next up was Montreal which was massive. An absolutely fantastic show in all ways. The audience of Montreal has to be one of the most dedicated on this planet. Then we hit Kingston, New York. It was good to see people ignoring the rain and fear of Irene, to come to The Basement to rock like a hurricane. Now we are in Cleveland and ready to give a massive dose of Norwegian metal at Peabody's. We hope the upcoming shows will continue in the same good way as the first three. The audience in North America has once again shown their intense dedication, which makes these shows a blast for us. See you soon." - Bassist Hváll
