The 2012 Summer Slaughter Tour will once again offer the U.S. Metalheads one of the most extreme tours in the United States! In case you haven't heard, the 2012 Summer Slaughter Tour will be headlined by Cannibal Corpse, with direct support coming from Between The Buried And Me. The Faceless will be featured as special guests. Additionally, it has been announced that both Goatwhore and Exhumed will be joining what promises to be the most extreme tour of the year.

32 Years Since Heavy Music Lost AC/DC's Bon Scott!

32 years ago, the Heavy Music world lost the late great Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott. Scott was born on July 9, 1946 in Forfar, Scotland and died on February 19, 1980 in London, England, after a night of heavy drinking.

Scott will always be remembered for being the lead singer and lyricist of Australian Hard Rock band AC/DC. His tenure with AC/DC went from 1974 until his death in 1980. He moved to Melbourne, Australia with his family in 1952 at the age of six. His first band was The Spektors, he also performed with The Valentines and Fraternity before replacing Dave Evans as the lead singer of AC/DC in 1974.

Here are some facts about the late great Bon Scott:

- Scott's vocals were inspired by his idol, Little Richard.

- After working as a postman, bartender and truck packer, Scott started his first band, The Spektors, in 1964 as drummer and occasional lead singer.

- In 2004, Classic Rock Magazine rated as number one in a list of the "100 Greatest Frontmen Of All Time" ahead of Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant.

- When Bon Scott died after a night out in London. AC/DC briefly considered disbanding, but the group quickly recruited vocalist Brian Johnson of the British glam rock band Geordie.

Tony Iommi Celebrates His 64th Birthday; We Wish Him MANY More To Come!

Today (February 19), Anthony Frank "Tony" Iommi is celebrating his 64th birthday! Iommi was born in Handsworth, Birmingham, England, and is considered the pioneer of Heavy Metal guitar shredding. As we all know, Iommi is a founding member of Black Sabbath and has been the only member to be part of every incarnation of the band.

Here are some facts about the great Tony Iommi:

- Iommi, a left-handed guitar player, is one of the most important and influential guitarists in Heavy Metal history.

- He originally wanted to play the drums, but due to the noise they produce he picked up the guitar as a teenager, after being inspired by the likes of Hank Marvin and The Shadows.

- According to Allmusic, "Iommi is one of only two guitarists (the other being Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page) that can take full credit for pioneering the mammoth riffs of Heavy Metal".

- In an industrial accident at the age of 17 on his last day of work in a sheet metal factory, he lost the tips of the middle and ring finger of his right hand. After attempting to learn to play right-handed, Iommi instead strung his guitars with lighter strings and made thimbles to extend his fingers.

- Considered the best guitarist of all time according to Guitar World's "100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time".

- Last year, Iommi released his autobiography "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath".

- On 9 January 2012, it was announced that Iommi had been diagnosed with early stage lymphoma.

GUNS N' ROSES Performs In New York City During Fashion Week

The latest reincarnation of Guns N' Roses performed this past Thursday, February 16th at the Hiro Ballroom in New York City. You can now watch the majority of the performance below thanks to our good friends over at Nextmosh.com.

Guns N' Roses today is composed of original member Axl Rose (vocals), who is joined on stage by guitarists Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Richard Fortus and DJ Ashba, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

In other Guns N' Roses news, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced that Guns N' Roses will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 27th annual Induction Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in Cleveland and premiere on HBO in early May. The 2012 ceremony will again be open to the public, as it was – for the first time in the event’s history – at the 2009 Inductions in Cleveland. Apparently, all of the original members of the band will be present at the ceremony.

LAMB OF GOD Feed Their Chinese Fans Some Pure American Metal - Live Footage Available!

As we all know, Lamb Of God released their seventh studio album 'Resolution' earlier this year. After playing a few warm up shows in the East Coast of the United States, the band is currently in midst of their tour of the pacific rim that will conclude with the band’s first ever show in Alaska.
