Philip Anselmo Is Not Happy About The Super Bowl Coming To New Orleans, Find Out Why!

Last year, when Artisan News spoke with Philip Anselmo (PANTERA, DOWN) about his favorite NFL team the NOLA Saints, Anselmo said that because of bountygate and botched suspensions he's got no love for the NFL, comissioner Roger Goodell, and the Super Bowl in his city (scheduled to take place this Saturday, 2/3).

Here is what Anselmo had to say at the time:

As previously reported, Anselmo and Housecore Records thrashers WARBEAST have released a NEW split album entitled 'War of the Gargantuas'. The split, which is a total tease, includes two songs from each artist. This album serves as the first release of any solo work by Anselmo. Also, the two WARBEAST tracks on the split feature former bassist Alan Bovee before his amicable departure from the band. Since then, Dre Karst has joined on bass. Get it HERE!

Don't forget to catch Anselmo on tour with DOWN on “The Weed & Speed Tour: West Coast Throwdown in the Year of XIII”. The tour also features WARBEAST. The entire upcoming tour is dedicated to the memory of the late Mike Scaccia.

AEROSMITH Creates Anthem For The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - Audio Available!

American Football and American Rock N' Roll are a match made in heaven and hell. We all hear some of our favorite songs on a weekly basis during the NFL games here in the United States. And we all know that the most memorable Super Bowl halftime shows have been the ones with Rock bands performing!

Recently, Pepsi and the National Football League (NFL) announced the expansion of the Pepsi NFL Anthems program, a national campaign that brings to life originally created anthems for seven NFL teams around the league. The latest world-renowned artists to be featured in the program include one of the generation's most influential artists, Lenny Kravitz, who penned "Like a Jet" for the team he grew up cheering for in New York, and America's Greatest Rock Band AEROSMITH, staunch supporters of the New England Patriots, who have released an anthem titled "Legendary Child - Patriots Anthem".

The new tracks are currently available for free download at PepsiAnthems.com, and join originally created anthems by Kid Rock (Detroit Lions), Kelly Clarkson (Dallas Cowboys), Ice Cube (Oakland Raiders), Travie McCoy (New York Giants), as well as a Wiz Khalifa remix of "Black and Yellow" (Pittsburgh Steelers).

"This is a program the band and I were excited to get behind as it is a true representation of our allegiance to the New England Patriots and the city of Boston," said AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler. "There's something about the word legendary and the words New England Patriots that have an amazing ring to them. We're excited and proud to be part of that," added AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry.

To further bring the Pepsi NFL Anthems program to life, Pepsi has created seven :30 spots that celebrate each of the original anthems, the fans' passion for their teams and a variety of authentic in-game footage. The advertising campaign will kick off on Sunday, October 21 when the New York Jets take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. TV spots featuring the AEROSMITH's "Legendary Child – Patriots Anthem" and Lenny Kravitz's "Like A Jet", whose respective anthems-inspired teams will face off against one another, will air during the game broadcast.

In addition to New York and Boston, ads featuring the other anthems will roll out in additional markets and air throughout the remainder of the NFL regular season.

As previously reported, AEROSMITH — Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) — will release their first studio collection of all-NEW material in 11 years. The album is entitled 'Music From Another Dimension'  and it was recorded in Los Angeles and at the band's studio in Massachusetts; it was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen. 'Music From Another Dimension' will be released on November 6th via Columbia Records.

'Music From Another Dimension' track listing:

01. What Could Have Been Love
02. Beautiful
03. Street Jesus
04. Legendary Child
05. Oh Yeah
06. We All Fall Down
07. Another Last Goodbye
08. Out Go the Lights
09. Love Three Times a Day (Hello Goodbye)
10. Closer

Philip Anselmo Rips The NFL A New A**hole Over Peter King, Media Over Handling Of N.O. Saints & Bountygate!

Former Pantera and current Down vocalist Phil Anselmo ripped the NFL, Roger Goodell, Peter King Sports Illustrated for their handling of bountygate and punishing his beloved New Orleans Saints with unsubstantiated evidence. Listen to what Anselmo had to say on the video below.

As previously reported, NOLA's supergroup DOWN is scheduled to release four EP's dubbed as 'Down IV' throughout the next four years. During a recent interview the bands riff meister Kirk Windstein announced that the first EP, which contains six songs, should be out this summer! This is what Anselmo had to say about this:

"That's the idea right now, but I think that after you work on a body of music, you need to reload, you need to refresh, you need to clear your head. Get that, digest it, get it out of your system, and then decide what direction you're going to go. It's a good idea and I think we should see it through. But there's no way we can rush it. Because I think if it is a series of four, each one should be unique, and that… We've shown flexibility — we have songs like 'Bury Me In Smoke' and then we have songs like 'Stone The Crow'… acoustic pieces and what-not… We have all that. So we've touched on many, I guess, dynamics, so… I would expect each EP to have its own life."

Down's NEW EP will feature the following songs in no particular order:

- 'Levitation'
- 'Witchtripper'
- 'The Misfortune Teller'
- 'The Curse Is A Lie'
- 'Open Coffins'
- 'This Work Is Timeless'
