GWAR's Oderus Urungus Joins PETA In Their Fight Against Animal Cruelty? See For Yourselves!

Metal band GWAR's "Master of the Universe" Oderus Urungus has teamed up with PETA to unveil his new line of one-of-a-kind fur-free accessories and tells us why fur farms are so horrific.

In other GWAR news, the band will appear for some very special events of supreme carnage this spring and summer. First up, GWAR will be playing at the "New York Zombie Prom", a special event put on by Abracadabra NYC , Zombies Can't Love and Zombies Worldwide for the undead of New York City, to be held at Irving Plaza on Saturday June 9th. Then GWAR travels to Montreal on June 16th to take part in the D-Tox Rock Fest, along with other heavyweights As I Lay Dying, Bad Religion and Voivod to name a few. But undoubtedly the social event for bohabs world-wide will be the third annual GWAR-B-Q, to be held in Richmond, Va., Aug. 18th, 2012.

"We are not announcing any details regarding the GWAR-B-Q until we are 110% sure they are firmly grounded in reality", said Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie, "but the GWAR-B-Q is definitely ON, it's gonna be on Saturday, August 18th, and GWAR will headline. It's going to be everything we hoped it would be last year and much, MUCH more. We have amazing support acts and an incredible venue that we will be announcing very soon...it's going to be the greatest GWAR-B-Q ever!"

So get ready for more music, murder, and MAYHEM from our Lords and Masters, the mighty GWAR!!!!

- 6/9: New York, NY @ Irving Plaza (Zombie Prom)
- 6/15: Providence, RI @ Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel

GWAR Is Planning A Summer Of Naughty Fun - Details Available!

Fresh off the latest six-week orgy of blood, booze, and missing children that was the second half of GWAR's "Return of the World Maggot/Farewell, Flattus Maximus" North American tour, the members of rock and roll's hardest working band have returned to the vastness of their Antarctica fortress to begin work on "a shitload of projects, all destined to rule...", said lead-singer Oderus Urungus. It all adds up to a summer of debauched excess for GWAR fans.

The band capped off the latest tour in grand fashion as they stuck to the four-piece line-up that was thrust upon our plucky barbarian overlords after the tragic exodus of guitarist FLATTUS MAXIMUS' from this mudball planet to the eternity of the cosmos, which occurred in November of last year as the band was just getting rolling on their huge two-part tour of North America. The band elected to stick it out not just for the remainder of the fall tour, but retain the line-up with Balsac, the Jaws of Death, as sole guitar player. Every night the band would end the set with a special tribute to Cory Smoot, a musician whose talent was so immense that no one could ever fill his giant rubber feet, thus compelling GWAR to officially retire the character of Flattus Maximus. Faced with the daunting task of finding a new Scumdog who can match the standard of excellence the band demands, GWAR has activated certain contingency plans, and the process that will hopefully lead to a new and hellish alignment with some kind of hideous creature, one capable of slaying thousands with JUST ONE NOTE. Needless to say, auditions are not "open". GWAR is also writing material for their new album, which could be out as early as several thousand years from now. Look for updates at Oderus' twitter feed, @therealoderus...NOW!

Despite being in an intense studio phase, GWAR will appear for some very special events of supreme carnage this spring and summer. GHOUL Release HILARIOUS Blood-Splattered Update From The Road!

Splatterthrash crossover kings GHOUL are currently on tour with GWAR, MUNICIPAL WASTE, and LEGACY OF DISORDER, merrily massacring their way across the continental United States and having a devil of a time shredding through classic cuts as well as newer material from 2011's critically acclaimed and viciously fun 'Transmission Zero' (now available on CD/LP/digitally from Tankcrimes).

Cremator has supplied us with the following update, assuring us that he and his fellow numbskulls are alive and well. The rest of the crew... well, you'll see.

"We thought Creepsylania was a dump, but now we are homesick… this backwards country we are touring, called by locals, "'Merica," is horrible! Granted, we like violence, but never has GHOUL witnessed citizenry that is so bent on hurting and destroying each other.

"While these "moshing pits" of yours are eminently hilarious to view from the stage, it leaves us a little sad that we have so few people left to kill ourselves at the end of the show. I guess we shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, as the littered corpses have kept us well fed for long drives.

"From the beast coast to the midwest, we've had a very hard go of it. Every night the Creepsylvanian authorities show up and try to shut down our show before we even begin. Just when we think we've gotten rid of them and are pummeling the audience to submission, their bastard creation Killbot shows up and beats the shit out of Cremator. Luckily, we brought the best roadie in the world, Kogar the Destructor. He is the whole road crew all in one and manages to beat the mechanical moron back without fail… so far.

"Thrashing out excellently next to us has been the band of original party dudes, MUNICIPAL WASTE. What a burden, though! They keep drinking all the rot gut and numbskull that Fermentor makes before we are even off the stage. How is a Ghoul to get drunk? Your 'Merican beer may have made Bud wiser, but it just makes us vomit. Another day fucked up by the Waste and waking up with the gutbucket blues.

"The lads from New Zealand, Legacy of Disorder, are rocking it just as hard and representing the Shire well. Digestor is repeatedly disappointed, however, to find our deli tray emptied by them. The LOD members eat first breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, tea, dinner, AND supper. I wonder if anyone has told them our deli tray is full of human viscera?

"The lords and masters of this tour, GWAR, seem to act like our friends. We're not so sure. Many a night we've heard tale of groupies waiting for us and then Dissector finds a pile of dead chicks, assholes ripped apart, smelling of cuttlefish. We have our suspicions.

"Still, we Ghouls persevere along with our comrades on the tour, Mr. Fang and Baron Samedi. We cram in our bloodied van night after night, Kogar on top, and get ready to hit the next town. The slavering sycophantic crowds have been welcoming to our splatterthrash. We're looking forward to more nights of haunting your nightmares and emptying your cemeteries. We are the things that go bump in the night… and bleed your ear drums with rock 'n' roll."

GWAR's Oderus Urungus' Appearance On The Dan Patrick Show Was A BIZARRE Experience

After a long absence from the public eye, intergalactic front-thing Oderus Urungus of the mighty GWAR graced today the cable-waves with his unlordly presence, and appeared as a wanna-be sports commentator on the Dan Patrick Show! That's right, Oderus in all his fetid glory entered the man-cave, met the Danettes, and talked sports with Patrick for an entire hour!

Oderus commented on topics as wide-ranging as the NCAA tournament, Peyton Manning's future, and "Canadian twit" Avril Lavigne, Gwar lead singer Oderus Urungus spent an hour on-set of The Dan Patrick Show this morning.

He also appeared to annoy executive producer Todd Fritz on several occasions, though given the nature of the show it's tough to say if this was authentic annoyance or simply played up for comedic effect. Either way, it was bizarre but deliciously funny.

In other GWAR news, your lords and masters have been confirmed to headline the New York Zombie Prom on June 9th at Irving Plaza in New York City. GWAR, will close the event which also features a pageant of the undead and a killer raffle for an original full page drawing from "The Walking Dead" comic book series. Half of the proceeds from the raffle will benefit The Smoot Family Fund. Tickets are available now and can be purchased at the link below.

GWAR just kicked off the second leg of "The Return of The World Maggot Tour" this Friday in Richmond, VA with a special tribute show for their fallen brother Cory Smoot AKA Flattus Maximus. The show will feature giveaways, raffles and much more as we celebrate the life of Cory Smoot. All proceeds from the show will go to The Smoot Family Fund, tickets can be purchased right here!

Oderus Urungus to Appear on The Dan Patrick Show; GWAR Confirmed To Headline The New York Zombie Prom!

After a long absence from the public eye, intergalactic front-thing Oderus Urungus of the mighty GWAR will once again grace the cable-waves with his unlordly presence, as our wanna-be sports commentator appears on the Dan Patrick Show next week! That's right, Oderus in all his fetid glory will enter the man-cave, meet the Danettes, and bask in the glow that is sure to emanate from the luminary figure that we all know Dan Patrick to be! Oderus will share the mike with the man who actually got to touch the Super Bowl trophy and Brooklyn Decker's hand. The appearance is scheduled for Monday March 19th and the show airs from 9:00 AM EST from 12:00 PM EST.

"I'm not gonna lie. I am a big Dan fan, and a proud member of the Dan-nation. I find his smarmy charm most ingratiating. I also hope he can help me with my hair," said the warty one, reached at his Antarctic abode. He continued -

"I'm not gonna lie...I hate people that say 'I'm not gonna lie'. I mean, what does that mean, that someone usually does lie when they talk to you? That unless they preface everything they say to you with 'I'm not gonna lie", you should assume they are lying to you? Dan Patrick would never do that. Dan's a straight-shooter."

Oderus is expected to talk about his NEW FEARnet TV show, "Holliston", the future of GWAR, and of course sports. Our stinky ruler has been known to pen sports columns on occasion, and his obsession with the Washington Redskins is known by his thousands of twitter followers. He has even prepared a bracket for the upcoming NCAA tournament which he plans to present on the show.

''I have the VCU Rams triumphing over the Jamaican bob-sled team", said our confused leader.

Legendary sports host Dan Patrick entertains America in morning drive along with his producers, "The Danettes." The Dan Patrick Show features the most extensive A-list interviews from the world of sports entertainment. The radio show which airs in over 270 markets, features astute knowledge, a dry sense of humor and Patrick's unique perspective, as well as a style which provides a "comfort zone" for his co-hosts. Fans can also see The Dan Patrick Show live on TV each day on DirecTV and across all regional sports networks (FOX Sports Net, Comcast SN, MSG+, Root Sports).

In other GWAR news, your lords and masters have been confirmed to headline the New York Zombie Prom on June 9th at Irving Plaza in New York City. LEGACY OF DISORDER Joins Forces With GWAR For North American Tour!

New Zealand Metallers Legacy of Disorder are about to unleash a kick-ass sophomore release, 'Last Man Standing,' and will soon be taking it to the streets, as they unite with veteran gore Metallists GWAR for a full U.S. tour.

"Legacy Of Disorder are chomping at the bit to get this U.S. tour with headliners Gwar underway," says LoD lead guitarist, Rana Freilich. "We are fully stoked and excited to be included and part of such a cool U.S. tour with such an established band as Gwar Legacy of Disorder is comprised of singer James Robinson, bassist Jason Keill, and drummer Matt Thompson and guitarist Rana Freilich.

With such Hard-hitting standout tracks on the album as 'Break,' 'March to Death' and the title tune 'Last Man Standing', Legacy Of Disorder is certainly starting to hit its Metallic stride. 'Last Man Standing' was engineered, mixed and co/produced by Sterling Winfield (who is best known to the metal masses for his work with Pantera) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura, Halford).

Legacy of Disorder is one ferocious live beast when they hit the stage, so it is only fitting that the quartet will be paired with one of the most over-the-top and outrageous live shows out there.

"Being part of this tour will really give us a chance to get our music heard in the U.S.," adds Freilich. "We can't wait to hit the U.S. to throwdown with Gwar throughout North America!"

GWAR To Join Forces With KYLESA, GHOUL & LEGACY For Second Leg Of The Spring "Return of the World Maggot Tour"!

Not content with five weeks of North American destruction and devastation, mutant overlords GWAR have announced a second leg to their Spring "Return of the World Maggot Tour". This leg kicks off April 13th in San Antonio, Texas and wraps up April 28th in Allentown, PA. Support on this leg of the tour will come from Kylesa, Ghoul and Legacy of Disorder.

Tickets for fan club members go on sale tomorrow February 8th and tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday February 10th .

"These press releases usually go something like this--", said bellicose front-thing Oderus Urungus. "There is a general statement about what GWAR is up to, then I say something stupid, then it goes to a list of the shows and a bunch of links. That's what's happening right now. We really have to work harder to make these things more interesting."

Oderus adjusted his tie and continued -- "We are finishing this last spate of shows as a tribute to fallen Scumdog Flattus Maximus, and will be playing as a four piece behind the screaming assault of Balsac. In this way we shall give all the US bohabs ample chance to fall to their knees in a sobbing heap when confronted with the reality of Flattus' departure... and a chance to say farewell. Then GWAR can move forward, and we shall."

The first leg of the tour kicks off with a special tribute show for fallen band mate and friend Cory Smoot, AKA Flattus Maximus, in Richmond, VA, at The National Theater on Friday March 16th. All proceeds from the Richmond show will benefit the "Smoot Family Fund" which has been established to help support Cory's widow and their unborn child. Support on this run will come from fellow Richmond Metallers Municipal Waste and California's Ghoul. Legacy of Disorder will join the tour on March 20th in Boston and will run through April 11th in Fort Collins, CO.

GWAR Is Ready For The Spring Leg Of The "Return of the World Maggot Tour" - Tourdates Available!

After a brief arctic slumber your Lords and Masters GWAR will be returning to the road this Spring on the second leg of their "Return of the World Maggot Tour". The tour kicks off with a special tribute show for fallen band mate and friend Cory Smoot (A.K.A. Flattus Maximus) in Richmond, VA, at The National Theater on Friday March 16th. All proceeds from the Richmond show will benefit the "Smoot Family Fund" which has been established to help support Cory's widow and their unborn child. Support on this run will come from fellow Richmond Metallers Municipal Waste and California's Ghoul. Legacy of Disorder will join the tour on March 20th in Boston and the tour will run through April 11th in Fort Collins, CO.

Tickets for fan club members go on sale tomorrow January 25th and tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday January 27th and Saturday January 28th .

Personal slave to Oderus and Slave Pit spokesman Dave Brockie had this to say...

"All the years of doing GWAR could never have prepared us for what we have been through, and I want to thank the Metal community and the extended GWAR family for all of your support. Finishing that last tour was the hardest thing we have ever had to do, and we still have about half of the country left to hit. We will continue as a four-piece, with the special tribute to Flattus at the end of the show, in order to give our fans a chance to say goodbye to our fallen Scumdog brother in true GWAR fashion-covered in blood and rocking the fuck out! After this tour is over we can start looking to the future and begin to put this tragedy behind us. But for now we are still in "Hail Flattus" mode!"

GWAR Forced to Cancel "Return of the World Maggot" European Tour!

The European leg of GWAR's "Return of the World Maggot" tour, scheduled to kick off in January 2012 has been canceled after several promoters pulled the plug on shows, citing poor ticket sales.

GWAR spokesman Dave Brockie commented on the tour's cancellation:

"Several of the promoters were alarmed by the low ticket sales, and they decided to start pulling the plug on shows. It got to the point where we had lost so many shows that we simply could not afford to do the tour.

"We are super disappointed that this happened, and we apologize to all of our European fans for canceling the tour. We did everything we could possibly do to save it, but it just didn't work out. The tickets are fully refundable so make sure you get your money back!"

In other GWAR related news, Oderus and Balsac were recently "hired" by MTV's Next Movie to review the new Steven Spielberg's new epic, "War Horse". Are your Mutant Overlords the next Siskel and Ebert???
