GWAR has released the first line-up for the 2013 GWAR-B-Q, located at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA. This year sees the event entering its fourth consecutive year while offering its most bone-crushing line-up yet, setting the stage for what will certainly be the most massive GWAR-B-Q in the history of the human or any other race!

The event is scheduled to take place Saturday August 17th, 2013 at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA, located at 7900 Osbourne Turnpike. Doors will open at 10:00 AM and the first band will hit the stage at 11:00 AM. For more information be sure to visit: http://gwarbq.com. Ticket information will be announced soon.

Local faves and international Thrashers Municipal Waste will provide main support to the mighty GWAR, and in turn will be supported by a plethora of devastating acts like Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer, Cannabis Corpse, Loincloth, Kung-Fu Dykes and many more. Once again Hadad's will host not one but TWO stages which will be packed with bands all day… and finally there are rumors of a yet-to-be-announced act that will put this year's GWAR-B-Q 2013 completely over the top!

"Once again we blow the horn of war and set into motion the gears that grind us towards the greatest GWAR-B-Q yet," said unrepentantly horny front-thing Oderus Urungus, fresh off debuting GWAR's new "GWAR-B-Q" sauce at a strongly attended event at the world-famous Grinders in Kansas City (see more details HERE). "We will not only be rockin' like Dokken and slippin' the cock in, but we will shoving a wealth of GWAR products down your throat…not only our new GWAR-B-Q sauce, but our very own beer, Impaled Ale! Eat and drink yourself into a diabetic stupor, then puke it all up in the slam pit! It's gonna fucking rule!"

"This new taste sensation is mostly made out of the blood of really hot chicks", explained the surprisingly cordial space-barbarian. "It was a terrible waste of fine ass, but ultimately worth it because this sauce is absolutely delicious!"

GWAR Announces Leg II Of The "Fate or Chaos" Tour; WARBEAST To Support!

After spending months deep inside their arctic fortress working on what will be their next album, your Lords and Masters GWAR have announced their return to the road in North America. The second leg of the "Fate or Chaos" tour is scheduled to kick off on April 10th in Tucson, AZ and will conclude on April 25th in Jacksonville, Florida. Support on the tour will come from Warbeast and Wilson. Tickets go on sale this Friday February 15th.

Briefly putting down the crack pipe, lead throat thing Oderus Urungus spoke about going back on tour:

"As you humans amuse yourself with your mundane holidays, it has been a time of intense activity for GWAR, as we record our 13th studio album-- the first one with our new Scumdog brother, Pustulus Maximus!"

The Filth-Lord continued-- "We begin this years festivities with the second and final leg of our Fate or Chaos tour, so everybody who missed the first leg can see Cyber-Jesus get his fucking ass handed to him. Then it's back in the studio to work on all the hulking war machines we shall need on our devastating, brand-spanking new tour, after the album drops at the end of the summer! Can you believe I said drop? How fucking stupid!"

Oderus Urungus and Balsac the Jaws of Death, recently took New York by storm when they were in town filming a segment for the SyFy TV Show "Oddities".

The guys were once again recruited by MTV's Next Movie to give their critique of another Steven Spielberg directed, Oscar nominated film. The last time they reviewed a movie for Next Movie they reviewed "War Horse" it was only fitting that "Lincoln" be next. Check out Oderus and Balsac's review HERE.

Oderus and Balsac recently stole the show as guests on the "Artie Lange Show". Check out highlights of their appearance HERE.

The summer will also herald the fourth annual GWAR-B-Q, and this year is shaping-up to have the most colossal, bone-crushing line-up yet! But that's not all from your toxic mutant under-lords. Rumors of boxed sets, GWAR-B-Q sauce, GWAR beer, and long-awaited "comedy" albums abound. Further details about all of these projects would have to wait until "we get our shit together", said Oderus.

GWAR Is Planning A Summer Of Naughty Fun - Details Available!

Fresh off the latest six-week orgy of blood, booze, and missing children that was the second half of GWAR's "Return of the World Maggot/Farewell, Flattus Maximus" North American tour, the members of rock and roll's hardest working band have returned to the vastness of their Antarctica fortress to begin work on "a shitload of projects, all destined to rule...", said lead-singer Oderus Urungus. It all adds up to a summer of debauched excess for GWAR fans.

The band capped off the latest tour in grand fashion as they stuck to the four-piece line-up that was thrust upon our plucky barbarian overlords after the tragic exodus of guitarist FLATTUS MAXIMUS' from this mudball planet to the eternity of the cosmos, which occurred in November of last year as the band was just getting rolling on their huge two-part tour of North America. The band elected to stick it out not just for the remainder of the fall tour, but retain the line-up with Balsac, the Jaws of Death, as sole guitar player. Every night the band would end the set with a special tribute to Cory Smoot, a musician whose talent was so immense that no one could ever fill his giant rubber feet, thus compelling GWAR to officially retire the character of Flattus Maximus. Faced with the daunting task of finding a new Scumdog who can match the standard of excellence the band demands, GWAR has activated certain contingency plans, and the process that will hopefully lead to a new and hellish alignment with some kind of hideous creature, one capable of slaying thousands with JUST ONE NOTE. Needless to say, auditions are not "open". GWAR is also writing material for their new album, which could be out as early as several thousand years from now. Look for updates at Oderus' twitter feed, @therealoderus...NOW!

Despite being in an intense studio phase, GWAR will appear for some very special events of supreme carnage this spring and summer. First up, GWAR will be playing at the "New York Zombie Prom", a special event put on by Abracadabra NYC , Zombies Can't Love and Zombies Worldwide for the undead of New York City, to be held at Irving Plaza on Saturday June 9th. GWAR's Oderus Urungus' Appearance On The Dan Patrick Show Was A BIZARRE Experience

After a long absence from the public eye, intergalactic front-thing Oderus Urungus of the mighty GWAR graced today the cable-waves with his unlordly presence, and appeared as a wanna-be sports commentator on the Dan Patrick Show! That's right, Oderus in all his fetid glory entered the man-cave, met the Danettes, and talked sports with Patrick for an entire hour!

Oderus commented on topics as wide-ranging as the NCAA tournament, Peyton Manning's future, and "Canadian twit" Avril Lavigne, Gwar lead singer Oderus Urungus spent an hour on-set of The Dan Patrick Show this morning.

He also appeared to annoy executive producer Todd Fritz on several occasions, though given the nature of the show it's tough to say if this was authentic annoyance or simply played up for comedic effect. Either way, it was bizarre but deliciously funny.

Oderus Urungus to Appear on The Dan Patrick Show; GWAR Confirmed To Headline The New York Zombie Prom!

After a long absence from the public eye, intergalactic front-thing Oderus Urungus of the mighty GWAR will once again grace the cable-waves with his unlordly presence, as our wanna-be sports commentator appears on the Dan Patrick Show next week! That's right, Oderus in all his fetid glory will enter the man-cave, meet the Danettes, and bask in the glow that is sure to emanate from the luminary figure that we all know Dan Patrick to be! Oderus will share the mike with the man who actually got to touch the Super Bowl trophy and Brooklyn Decker's hand. The appearance is scheduled for Monday March 19th and the show airs from 9:00 AM EST from 12:00 PM EST.

"I'm not gonna lie. I am a big Dan fan, and a proud member of the Dan-nation. I find his smarmy charm most ingratiating. I also hope he can help me with my hair," said the warty one, reached at his Antarctic abode. He continued -

"I'm not gonna lie...I hate people that say 'I'm not gonna lie'. I mean, what does that mean, that someone usually does lie when they talk to you? That unless they preface everything they say to you with 'I'm not gonna lie", you should assume they are lying to you? Dan Patrick would never do that. Dan's a straight-shooter."

Oderus is expected to talk about his NEW FEARnet TV show, "Holliston", the future of GWAR, and of course sports. Our stinky ruler has been known to pen sports columns on occasion, and his obsession with the Washington Redskins is known by his thousands of twitter followers. He has even prepared a bracket for the upcoming NCAA tournament which he plans to present on the show.

''I have the VCU Rams triumphing over the Jamaican bob-sled team", said our confused leader.

LEGACY OF DISORDER Joins Forces With GWAR For North American Tour!

New Zealand Metallers Legacy of Disorder are about to unleash a kick-ass sophomore release, 'Last Man Standing,' and will soon be taking it to the streets, as they unite with veteran gore Metallists GWAR for a full U.S. tour.

"Legacy Of Disorder are chomping at the bit to get this U.S. tour with headliners Gwar underway," says LoD lead guitarist, Rana Freilich. "We are fully stoked and excited to be included and part of such a cool U.S. tour with such an established band as Gwar Legacy of Disorder is comprised of singer James Robinson, bassist Jason Keill, and drummer Matt Thompson and guitarist Rana Freilich.

With such Hard-hitting standout tracks on the album as 'Break,' 'March to Death' and the title tune 'Last Man Standing', Legacy Of Disorder is certainly starting to hit its Metallic stride. 'Last Man Standing' was engineered, mixed and co/produced by Sterling Winfield (who is best known to the metal masses for his work with Pantera) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura, Halford).

Legacy of Disorder is one ferocious live beast when they hit the stage, so it is only fitting that the quartet will be paired with one of the most over-the-top and outrageous live shows out there.

"Being part of this tour will really give us a chance to get our music heard in the U.S.," adds Freilich. "We can't wait to hit the U.S. to throwdown with Gwar throughout North America!"

GWAR To Join Forces With KYLESA, GHOUL & LEGACY For Second Leg Of The Spring "Return of the World Maggot Tour"!

Not content with five weeks of North American destruction and devastation, mutant overlords GWAR have announced a second leg to their Spring "Return of the World Maggot Tour". This leg kicks off April 13th in San Antonio, Texas and wraps up April 28th in Allentown, PA. Support on this leg of the tour will come from Kylesa, Ghoul and Legacy of Disorder.

Tickets for fan club members go on sale tomorrow February 8th and tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday February 10th .

"These press releases usually go something like this--", said bellicose front-thing Oderus Urungus. "There is a general statement about what GWAR is up to, then I say something stupid, then it goes to a list of the shows and a bunch of links. That's what's happening right now. We really have to work harder to make these things more interesting."

Oderus adjusted his tie and continued -- "We are finishing this last spate of shows as a tribute to fallen Scumdog Flattus Maximus, and will be playing as a four piece behind the screaming assault of Balsac. In this way we shall give all the US bohabs ample chance to fall to their knees in a sobbing heap when confronted with the reality of Flattus' departure... and a chance to say farewell. Then GWAR can move forward, and we shall."

The first leg of the tour kicks off with a special tribute show for fallen band mate and friend Cory Smoot, AKA Flattus Maximus, in Richmond, VA, at The National Theater on Friday March 16th. All proceeds from the Richmond show will benefit the "Smoot Family Fund" which has been established to help support Cory's widow and their unborn child. Support on this run will come from fellow Richmond Metallers Municipal Waste and California's Ghoul. Legacy of Disorder will join the tour on March 20th in Boston and will run through April 11th in Fort Collins, CO.

GWAR's Cory Smoot - Cause Of Death Revealed!

The Smoot family and Slave Pit Inc. released a statement regarding the official cause of death of guitarist Cory Smoot. Cory had played the character of Flattus Maximus for over ten years, and was discovered dead on the band's tour bus on November 3rd of this year. He was only 34 years old.

Stated North Dakota coroner William Masselo, MD:

"We have finalized the autopsy report and death certificate. I have determined that Cory died from a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease."

The band, which will continue as a four-piece until the current tour schedule is complete, has officially retired the character of Flattus Maximus, and has announced no plans regarding a new GWAR-tarist.

Metal Blade and GWAR have since set-up the Smoot Family Foundation to raise funds for Cory's wife, Jaime, and their unborn child. Donations can be made at the link below. Also, at The Canal Club in Richmond, Va. on January 7th there will be a record release show (featuring Mensrea, Cannabis Corpse, DBX and more) for Cory's solo record, "When Worlds Collide", which he had completed working on just prior to his death. The album will be released early next year, with all proceeds going to the Smoot Family Fund.

GWAR To Tour Europe In Early 2012 Despite The Death Of Cory Smoot!

Ancient Antarctic Metal marauders GWAR will carry on with their plans to tour Europe in January 2012, despite the recent death of guitarist Cory Smoot, during the bands "Return of the World Maggot Tour".

Said GWAR spokesman Dave Brockie (A.K.A. Oderus Urungus): "When Cory died, we all wanted to go home and take care of the family and our own grief. But the best way to do that is by playing all the shows we have planned. The response from the U.S. Metal community and especially the whole international GWAR family has been overwhelmingly supportive... these GWAR fans need the chance to pay their respects to Cory, and canceling any shows would deprive them of that."

"Let's make these shows a celebration of Cory Smoot, one of the most amazing players in Metal... I am calling on the European GWAR family to get out there and drag everybody in sight to these gigs! We shall honor Flattus Maximus in the only way we know how... by rocking the fuck out!!!"

The Smoots, GWAR, and Metal Blade Records have created the "Smoot Family Fund", and GWAR and Slave Pit are calling on the Metal community to support Cory's family in this tragic time. Donations can be made here.

"C'mon everybody from our Rock star buddies to the most zit-covered bohab,"said Brockie. "Cory had a growing family that is going to need help-for a long time. Of course GWAR is doing everything we can, and we need you to help as well.

If you would prefer to donate to the Smoot Family Fund by mail, the address is:

Slave Pit Inc. (C/O Smoot Family Fund)
PO Box 5225
Richmond, VA 23220

The band has officially retired the character of Flattus Maximus, and will finish the U.S. and Europe tours as a four-piece. GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus had this to say about their missing lead guitarist.

"Flattus, without our permission I might add, has stolen our Skumship and returned to his beloved home planet, Planet Home. So once again we are marooned on your miserable planet!"

Check out this amazing video tribute to Cory:

For 27 years GWAR's relentless tour schedule and bristling release schedule have been evidence of the bands fanatical dedication to not only their fans but Metal itself. GWAR's decision to continue on with these tours has put that dedication to the test like nothing before. Now more than ever they need your support. HAIL FLATTUS, AND HAIL GWAR!

GWAR - Video Footage of Cory Smoot's Last Performance!

This past Thursday (November 3rd), the Heavy Music community lost GWAR's longtime guitarist and producer Cory Smoot (AKA Flattus Maximus). Smoot was found dead inside GWAR's tour-bus as the band was getting ready to cross the border. After this horrible tragedy, the band decided to continue with the tour despite losing their friend and guitarist. This is what GWAR's front-man David Brockie (A.K.A. Oderus Urungus) had to say about this.

"After a lot of consideration, we have decided to carry on with the tour. Although the great temptation would be to return home, curl into a fetal position, and mourn, we can't do that. First off, Cory wouldn't want that. He would want us to go on and would be pissed if we didn't. Plus we know the fans don't want us to quit. They are going to want a chance to come to grips with their loss, and there is no better place to do that than at a GWAR show. Though it's hard to believe, I think we all would feel a lot worse if we stopped. For better or worse we have to see this through.

"The last time I saw Cory was after our show in Minneapolis on Weds. night. It was a great show at First Avenue in Minneapolis, one of our favorite places to play. Cory was happy. He was excited about the band and especially the new studio he was building in the Slave Pit back in Richmond. He was deeply in love with his wife, Jamie, and was busily planning their family and future in the beautiful home they had. As usual, after some autographs and banter, I was probably the first person in their bunk as we got ready for a big drive into Canada, and Cory and the rest of the guys were not far behind. As I fell into the slumber that only playing GWAR shows can induce, everything seemed right in the world."

Here is some fan filmed footage of Cory's final performance with GWAR. The concert took place on the night of November 2nd at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. RIP Cory!

Official Statement From GWAR's David Brockie Regarding The Death Of Guitarist Cory Smoot & The Bands Future!

After a restless night spent hurtling through the desolate Canadian wilderness, I crawled from my bunk on the tour bus to face reality, grudgingly aware that the the dark dream that gripped us would not fade with the day. We have lost a brother, a husband, a son, and one of the most talented musicians that ever slung an ax. Cory Smoot, longtime lead guitar player for the band GWAR, has passed at the age of 34.

As the singer of GWAR and one of his best friends, I feel it is my duty to try and answer some of the questions that surround his tragic and untimely death. I know the sense of loss and pain is far greater in scope than in the insulated environment of a band on tour, and I will do my best to provide what clarity and comfort I can.

The most glaring question is how? And unfortunately that is the hardest question to answer. The truth will not be known until the medical officials have finished their work. All I can do is relate what we saw with our own eyes.

The last time I saw Cory was after our show in Minneapolis on Weds. As I fell into the slumber that only playing GWAR shows can induce, everything seemed right in the world.

We found Cory the next morning as we collected passports for a border crossing. He was in his bunk, unresponsive, and it quickly was clear that he was dead. It was without a doubt the most horrible moment of my life. That's all I can say about it.

Within moments everybody was off the bus, standing in a wind-swept parking lot in the middle of nowhere, trying to come to grips with the shock of it. First the ambulance arrived, and then the police, but there was nothing that could be done other than fully investigate the scene and remove Cory with care and respect.

We are completely devastated and shocked beyond belief. One night we had our friend and colleague, happy and healthy in the middle of our best tour in years- and the next morning, so suddenly, he was gone. Never have I seen starker proof of the fragility of life.

Cory will be transported home to Richmond over the next few days, and an announcement regarding services will be made soon. We ask everyone to respect the families wish for privacy, and especially to keep his wife, Jamie, in your thoughts and prayers.

As we work our way through these difficult days the question is -- what will GWAR do? After a lot of consideration, we have decided to carry on with the tour.

That doesn't mean that Cory will make his final journey without us. When the arrangements have been finalized, Cory's best friend and GWAR's music tech Dave "Gibby" Gibson, and myself will return home to attend the services and pay the proper respects to our comrade.

Out of respect to Cory, we have officially retired the character of Flattus Maximus. Flattus has decided to return to his beloved "Planet Home", and will never return to this mudball planet again. And this is a sadder place for that.

Just the other day I heard Cory tell a story about how some 20 years ago he was fourteen years old, at his first GWAR show, grabbing at the rubber feet of our then- current Flattus, and how blown away he was at the fact that now HE was the one getting his feet pulled by the same kid that he used to be. Cory was always in awe of the patterns of life and went through it with a wide-eyed amazement that translated through his playing. I've never known anyone who could pick up literally any instrument and rock it the first time he touched it, and more than that make it look easy. Behind that rubber monster outfit, and sometimes even obscured by it, was one of the most talented and beautiful people I have ever known. I know everyone who's life was touched by Cory truly loved him, as do we, his bandmates and brothers.

There should be some kind of announcement soon regarding services, etc. It would be great to have a memorial show at some point soon, where some of the bands that Cory worked with could come together and show their love for this truly amazing man who left us all too soon and will be sorely missed by many, many people.
