Does MÖTLEY CRÜE's Tommy Lee Dislike His Fans?

Tommy Lee is currently on the road with his band MÖTLEY CRÜE in Australia. After claiming last year that he "hates taking pictures" (read more HERE), Lee has announced that he will also not be participating in the band's paid meet-and-greet sessions because he "doesn't agree with doing it under certain circumstances." To this he added:

"For those of you that are asking why I am not doing anymore meet-and-greets!! It's got nothing to do with me not wanting to meet the fans, I just don't agree with doing it under the certain given circumstances. I love you all and I'll gladly high-five y'all if I see you out 'n' about — and you won't have to pay me for that."

While one could argue that the fans should not have to pay to meet their heroes, Lee should suck it up and do the meet-and-greets so the fans are not disappointed by his absence. If anything, he can refuse to get his cut for what the band receives monetarily after each meet-and-greet session. But now since he is not showing up, the fans should get part of the money refunded!

The band is offering the following "VIP packages" while on tour in Australia:

FIREWIND Are Working On A Live Album In Anticipation Of Their Tour With TURISAS!

Melodic Metallers FIREWIND have successfully wrapped up the calendar year 2012 with 4 packed club-shows in their native Greece (Two nights in Thessaloniki and 2 nights in Athens), commencing the celebration of the band’s 10th Anniversary of existence.

Additionally, and right before the end of the year festivities, FIREWIND also entered studios in order to mix recordings from their “Few Against Many” live-campaign last year for an upcoming live-album, scheduled to be released before the summer of 2013. Look out for more details soon…

Expanding FIREWIND’s live agenda for 2013, the band is next headed out on a North American tour with Turisas and Stolen Babies and has most recently also confirmed appearances at this year’s editions of Summer Breeze festival (Germany), PPM Fest (Belgium) and Rock In Den Ruinen festival (Germany). TURISAS Begin Recording NEW Album & Announce Lineup Changes - Statement Available!

Finland's TURISAS have started tracking their fourth studio album. The recording sessions for the drum parts are taking place at Atomic Spa studio in Helsinki, Finland, and will continue recording in different locations until the end of January. The follow-up to 'Stand Up And Fight' (2011) is scheduled to be out in May of 2013 via Century Media Records.

There is more TURISAS news. The band has announced a few lineup changes. Tuomas "Tude" Lehtonen (original drummer) is departing the band and will be replaced by Jaakko Jakku. Also departing is Jukka-Pekka Miettinen (bassist), who will focus on his own musical projects.

Lehtonen had the following to say regarding his decision: "I can't tell you how hard it feels to step away from the path we've been walking together for the last 15 years — and to start a new era in my life without the band.

"There are many reasons for me to quit the band. The stress from the years spent on the road and different artistic visions have lead to a mutual decision for me to step back and hand over the drumsticks to the next guy.

"In any case, it has been a great experience and all the memories from being on the road are something that I will always cherish. The biggest thanks go to all of the past and present members of the band, not to forget all the technicians and fellow drummers I've met on shows and on tour — and, of course, especially to all the fans that have allowed us to grow to the level that TURISAS are at today.

"Good luck and lots of success to all my bandmates — I feel that I will never be straying too far away from the band. I shall always be proudly carrying the heart of TURISAS wherever I go. The man can leave the band but the band will never really leave the man."

As previously announces, TURISAS will once again return to the States in February/March 2013 for a headlining tour featuring FIREWIND and STOLEN BABIES as special guests! In regards to the trek, the band comments: "Back to America straight out of the studio! We've spent the last six months off the road writing some NEW killer tunes and are just about to start recording them as we speak. The great memories from our previous tour last spring is making us even more excited to hit the road again after this long break. We're coming up with NEW cool and crazy ideas for this tour, and who knows, maybe we'll even try out and premiere some completely unreleased NEW material. "The Formation of Damnation" is Testament's highest charting release in their 24-year history.

Testament's Chuck Billy Comments On Second Leg Of North American Tour With Anthrax & Death Angel!

Chuck Billy, vocalist of the iconic West Coast Thrash Metal act, Testament, has issued the following statement in anticipation of the band’s upcoming co-headlining North American run with Anthrax.

“We are super stoked to announce our participation for the second leg of this already awesome Thrash attack with our good friends in Anthrax and Death Angel. Testament's Chuck Billy Discusses NEW Album 'The Dark Roots Of Earth'!

Testament have been spending time in the studio recording "The Dark Roots Of Earth", the follow up to their 2008 Golden God 'Album of the Year' award winning album, "The Formation of Damnation", released on Nuclear Blast Records to critical acclaim. Set to be released in late April/early May via Nuclear Blast Records "The Dark Roots Of Earth" is on of the most anticipated albums of 2012 in Heavy Music. Here is what vocalist and front-man Chuck Billy had to say about the NEW Testament record.

"It's done... I have three songs left to sing. I think it is going to be a very strong record. It's the first record in a long time that we felt really confident before the record was done. On the last few records we knew we had some good songs, but we didn't know how good the record was until we sat down and listened to the record from start to finish. For this record it's a lot different, we know just by doing the demos and hearing the songs on their own... they all have a life for themselves! While before, you had to listen to the record as a whole. I think the beauty of this album is that we didn't have anyone breathing down our necks saying 'hurry!' And we really took our time to make sure that it's right! I think this is the Testament record that's suppose to be right now!" - Chuck Billy (Front-man of Testament)

Due to a "serious injury," Testament's drummer Paul Bostaph was unable to take part of the studio sessions for "The Dark Roots Of Earth"! This undisclosed injury has also kept Bostaph away from the current Testament tour with Anthrax and Death Angel.

For select dates during this current tour (October 28 through November 13) , "The Atomic Clock", Gene Hoglan (ex-Dark Angel, ex-Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Dethklok) will be stepping in for Bostaph. Hoglan was also part of Testament's studio sessions. The remaining dates will see Testament joined by John Tempesta (Exodus, White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Helmet, The Cult).

The band is currently on the road with fellow Thrashers Anthrax and Death Angel! This tour is NOT to be missed!

Testament to be Joined by Gene Hoglan on Upcoming Co-Headlining Tour with Anthrax!

Testament is arming themselves with plenty of musical fire in anticipation of their new studio album entitled "Dark Roots of Earth" (due in February of 2011). The Bay Area Thrash Metal Kings will be hitting the road with Anthrax and Death Angel this October and November. This furious tour will kickoff on October 11 at The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will conclude on November 19 at the Rave Ballroom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Testament have recently been spending time in the studio recording "Dark Roots Of Earth", the follow up to their 2008 Golden God 'Album of the Year' award winning album, "The Formation of Damnation", released on Nuclear Blast Records to critical acclaim. The album was named SiriusXM Liquid Metal's 'Album of the Year' in 2008, and debuted at #59 on the Billboard Top 200. "The Formation of Damnation" is Testament's highest charting release in their 24-year history.

"We're more than halfway done recording the new album, Dark Roots of Earth. It's coming along as well or better than any album this band has done. It just seems to have a focus, clarity and definition on a level that I don't remember at this point in the process. Of course, you can never truly sum up an album until all the tracks are recorded, the mixes are done and the entire collection is mastered. But from where things stand right now, it's looking like we may have a winner." - Alex Skolnick

The band has spent the last three years touring the world in support of "The Formation of Damnation", and now brings its original, classic lineup back home to the United States with Anthrax and Death Angel.
